노동강도 제거 및 양끝정렬 균일화를 위한 양끝절단포장적재시스템 개발 (The package loading equipment development cutting both ends in the process of packaging lumber for improving the working environments)

  • The package loading process of the lumbering industry is an operation that after a pair of workers bind three or six lumbers into one unit and cut both ends of the lumbers, transports the weight cargo of 30-50kg by one meter, pack and load at a height of 1.2 meters. This package loading process causes lots of noise and wood dust when workers carry out the heavy work as the above. Therefore we developed the monolithic both ends cutting package loading equipment in order to prevent from getting musculoskeletal disease. An loading bar working system of this equipment is improved from pneumatic pressure system to oil pressure system, furnished the newly designed flow dividers, and developed the new system that a both end array is loaded identically. Also we developed the safety equipment of loading bar in order to prevent workers mistake and overload from malfunction during the package loading process. The main cause of job evasion on working place could be solved by preventing the musculoskeletal disease and improving the working environments.

Molecular Characterization of a Nuclease Gene of Chlorella Virus SS-2

  • Sequence analysis of the Chlorella virus SS-2 revealed one putative nuclease gene that is 807 bp long and encodes a 31kDa protein. Multiple sequence alignment analysis reveals the presence of highly conserved PD-(D/E)XK residues in the encoded protein. The gene cloned into an expression vector was expressed as a His-tagged fusion protein in chaperone containing pKJE7 cells. The recombinant protein was purified using a His-Trap chelating HP column and used for functional analysis. Exonuclease activity of the SS-2 nuclease was detected when the DNA substrates, such as linear ssDNA, PCR amplicon, linear dsDNA with 5'-overhang ends, 3'-overhang ends, or blunt ends were used. Covalently closed circular DNA was also degraded by the SS-2 recombinant protein, suggesting that the SS-2 nuclease has an endonuclease activity. Stable activity of SS-2 nuclease was observed between $10^{\circ}C$ and $50^{\circ}C$. The optimum pH concentrations for the SS-2 nuclease were pH 6.0-8.5. Divalent ions inhibited the SS-2 nuclease activity.

Force transfer mechanism in positive moment continuity details for prestressed concrete girder bridges

  • The force transfer mechanism in positive moment continuity details for prestressed concrete girder bridges is investigated in this paper using a three-dimensional detailed finite element model. Positive moment reinforcement in the form of hairpin bars as recommended by the National Cooperative Highway Research Program Report No 519 is incorporated in the model. The cold construction joint that develops at the interface between girder ends and continuity diaphragms is also simulated via contact elements. The model is then subjected to the positive moment and corresponding shear forces that would develop over the service life of the bridge. The stress distribution in the continuity diaphragm and the axial force distribution in the hairpin bars are presented. It was found that due to the asymmetric configuration of the hairpin bars, asymmetric stress distribution develops at the continuity diaphragm, which can be exacerbated by other asymmetric factors such as skewed bridge configurations. It was also observed that when the joint is subjected to a positive moment, the tensile force is transferred from the girder end to the continuity diaphragm only through the hairpin bars due to the lack of contact between the both members at the construction joint. As a result, the stress distribution at girder ends was found to be concentrated around the hairpin bars influence area, rather than be resisted by the entire girder composite section. Finally, the results are used to develop an approach for estimating the cracking moment capacity at girder ends based on a proposed effective moment of inertia.

Push-out test on the one end welded corrugated-strip connectors in steel-concrete-steel sandwich structure

  • Current form of Corrugated-strip connectors are not popular due to the fact that the two ends of this form need to be welded to steel face plates. To overcome this difficulty, a new system is proposed in this work. In this system, bi-directional corrugated-strip connectors are used in pairs, and only one of their ends is welded to the steel face plates on each side. The other end is embedded in the concrete core. To assemble the system, common welding devices are required, and welding process can be performed in the construction sites. By performing the Push-out test under static loading, the authors experimentally assess the effects of geometric parameters on ductility, failure modes and the ultimate shear strength of the aforesaid connectors. For this purpose, sixteen experimental samples are prepared and investigated. For fifteen of these samples, one end of the shear connectors is welded to steel face plates, and the other end is embedded in the concrete. Another experimental sample is prepared in which both ends are welded to the steel face plates. According to the achieved results, several relations are proposed for predicting the ultimate shear strength and load vs. interlayer slip (load-slip) behavior of corrugated-strip connectors. Moreover, these formulas are compared with those of the well-known codes and standards. Accordingly, it is concluded that the authors' relations are more reliable.

앤드인 탐색 스트레칭과 퍼지 시그마 이진화를 이용한 초음파 영상에서 충수 추출 (Extraction of Appendix from Ultrasonographic Images using Ends-in Search Stretching and Fuzzy Sigma Binarization)

  • 본 논문에서는 충수 영역을 추출하는 방법을 제안한다. 충수 영역을 추출하는 과정은 복부 초음파 영상에서 앤드인 탐색 스트레칭 기법, 블록 이진화, Grassfire, 팽창 연산을 이용하여 복부 근육의 최하단 근막 부분을 추출하여 제거한 후, 퍼지 시그마 이진화 기법을 적용하여 영상의 객체화 및 객체 제거를 통해 충수 영역을 추출한다. 제안된 방법을 복부 초음파 영상에 적용한 결과, 객관적이고 효율적으로 충수 영역이 추출됨을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 최근, 장스팬 구조물이 많이 요구되어지고 있다. 그로인하여 지진하중 및 풍하중에 의한 바닥의 진동방지 및 과대변형을 억제하기 위하여 강성을 증대시킬 필요가 있다. 이러한 목적으로, 철골의 단부를 철근콘크리트로 보강하는 것이 효과적이다. 이러한 유효 보강 방법을 실현하기 위해서는 철골 부분과 철골 단부를 철근콘크리트로 보강한 부분 사이의 경계부에서 원활한 응력전달이 이루어져야 한다. 따라서 원활한 응력전달을 위하여 그 경계부에 정착판을 설치하였다. 본 연구는 기존 실험을 기초로 한 수치해석을 통하여 유효 응력 전달 방법을 평가한 것이다.

  • 본 연구에서는 단부 철근콘크리트와 중앙부 철골로 이루어진 혼합구조보의 비선형 이력거동에 대한 해석 모형을 제시하였다. 해석을 위하여 IDARC2D 프로그램을 사용하였으며, 기존의 실험결과를 대상으로 적절한 모형화 기법과 계수를 제시하였다. IDARC2D의 다각형 모형은 부재의 초기강성을 과대평가할 수 있기 때문에, 먼저 혼합구조보의 초기강성을 적절히 표현할 수 있는 새로운 혼합모형을 도입하였다. 그리고 혼합모형을 이용하여 혼합구조보의 이력거동을 적절히 표현할 수 있도록 이력거동 계수들을 제시하였다. 끝으로 해석한 결과를 실험결과와 비교·평가하였으며, 초기강성은 5%이내, 강도는 10%이내의 우수한 결과를 보였다.

비등방성 필터링과 대각선 이진화 방법을 이용한 세라믹의 결함 검출 (Detection of Flaws in Ceramics using Anisotropic Texture Filtering and Diagonal Binarization Method)

  • 본 논문에서는 세라믹 비파괴 검사를 이용하여 획득한 소재 영상에서 기존의 결함 검출 방법보다 결함 검출의 정확도를 개선하기 위한 개선된 결함 검출 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 결함 검출 방법은 명암 대비를 강조하기 위해 최소 명암도와 최대 명암도를 이용한 Ends-in Search Stretching 기법을 적용하여 비파괴 영상의 명암 대비를 강조한다. Stretching 기법이 적용된 영상에 $7{\times}7$ Sobel 마스크를 적용하여 비파괴 영상의 경계 영역을 추출하고, 영상의 잡음을 제거하기 위해 비등방성 필터링을 적용하여 영상을 보정한다. 보정된 영상에서 임계치 이진화 기법을 적용하여 경계 영역의 기울기를 계산하고, 계산된 기울기를 이용하여 비파괴 영상의 영역을 세분화한다. 세분화된 영역을 구분하기 위해 Grassfire Labeling 기법을 적용한다. Grassfire Labeling 기법이 적용된 영상을 Ends-in Search Stretching 기법이 적용된 비파괴 영상에 적용한 후에 대각선 이진화 기법을 적용한다. 이진화된 영상에서 형태학적 정보를 이용하여 잡음을 제거하고 결함을 검출한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방법을 획득한 세라믹 소재 영상을 대상으로 실험한 결과, 기존의 결함 검출 방법보다 더 효과적으로 소재의 결함을 추출할 수 있는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • If we compare socio-cultural aspects of the two historical periods known as 'pre-modern' 'modern,' it would seem that the Aristotelian understanding of technology has difficulty explaining techno-cultural phenomenon of modern society. The problems are first that the discourse of scientific technology in the modern period has proceeded without a metaphysical base, and second that nothing in present culture regulates the limitations of scientific technology. The clear distinction between means and ends in the traditional approach is no longer valid in the jumble of interrelationships. Such complexity forces us to acknowledge that means and ends are relative and interchangeable, and that neither has a clear moral superiority over the other. Technology in modern society is no more a neutral means. The products of science do not always exist to serve human ends. In modem architecture and urban design, both its productive and destructive tendencies leave man and his society in an endless confusion of complexity and opposition. These problems of technology still result in unsolved question today. On this point, the discussion another currently prevalent attitude to technology, especially Heideggerian thinking in the below could give a somewhat clearer answer to the problem of modem architecture and technology, although it also comprises limited contemplation in itself.

열연강판 선후단부 폭 정밀도 개선을 위한 최적 엣저롤 개도 제어 (Dynamic Edger Control for the Precise Width Control at the Head, and Tail Ends of Hot Strip)

  • adaption of the model predictions is highly desirable. In general, the width deviation at the head and tail ends of strip may be different from that of the steady state region. Therefore, the dynamic edger corrections can be used to compensate the width deviations which would otherwise occur. For the precise width control, the effect of edger roll gap and rolling conditions on the width deviation of head and tail ends of strip has been investigated and the effective method to decrease width deviation has been proposed. On-line application of dynamic edger control method in this study shows about 50% width compensation at the head end of the strip, and near perfect compensation at the tail end of strip.
