Forest Activities for Developing Emotional Vocabulary and Lowering Cortisol Levels in Kindergarteners

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of forest activities on the cortisol concentrations in the body and emotional vocabulary of kindergarteners. The participants were 36 kindergarten children aged 4-5, 17 in the control group and 19 in the experimental group. Forest activities consisted of six steps according to the level of kindergarteners, and the program was carried out at G City Environment Training Institute. Before and after the experiment, the children's emotional vocabulary was self-reported and salivary cortisol was analyzed to evaluate changes in the body's stress hormones. As a result, in the control group, positive words increased significantly from 0.14 to 1.53 (p=.003), but the decrease in negative words was not significant (p=.059). In the experimental group, positive words increased significantly from 0.47 to 2.84 after forest activities (p=.000). Negative words decreased significantly from 1.94 to 0.00 after forest activities (p=.000). In the analysis of salivary cortisol, the change in salivary cortisol concentrations was not significant (p=.667) in the control group, merely decreasing from 0.179 ㎍/dl to 0.161 ㎍/dl. However, the experimental group showed a significant decrease from 0.202 ㎍/dl to 0.161 ㎍/dl after forest activities (p=.049). These results suggest that forest play activities may be helpful in encouraging young children's emotional development by increasing positive vocabulary and decreasing negative vocabulary and reducing stress in kindergarteners.

부모 양육태도와 청소년의 정서문제 간의 상호적 관계: 종단적 자기회귀교차지연 분석 (The reciprocal relationships between parenting attitudes and emotional problems in adolescence: A longitudinal cross-lagged analysis)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the reciprocal relationship between parenting attitudes (positive and negative) and adolescent emotional problems as indicated by aggression, social withdrawal, and depression. Methods: This study analyzed longitudinal data from 2,325 parents and their children from the Korea Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018 at three time points over a three-year period (the first to third grade of middle school). Autoregressive cross-lagged modeling was conducted using AMOS 26.0. Results: The results indicated that both parenting attitudes and adolescents' emotional problems were relatively stable over time. In other words, the parenting attitude at a previous point affects the parenting attitude at a later point, and the emotional problem at the previous point continues to affect the emotional problem at the later point. There were no significant cross-lagged effects from both positive and negative parenting attitudes to adolescents' emotional problems. In contrast, adolescents' emotional problems at previous time points positively predicted negative parenting attitudes at later time points. In other words, if there were many emotional problems of aggression, social withdrawal, and depression in adolescents at a previous time, negative parenting attitudes such as rejection, force, and inconsistency at a later time increased. Conclusion: This study can reflect the characteristics of the development of independence in adolescence. Parents should deal with their children's emotional problems based on their understanding of the developmental characteristics of adolescence, and this study provides a strategy for parents to establish appropriate parenting attitudes for adolescents with emotional problems.

Topic Extraction and Classification Method Based on Comment Sets

  • In recent years, emotional text classification is one of the essential research contents in the field of natural language processing. It has been widely used in the sentiment analysis of commodities like hotels, and other commentary corpus. This paper proposes an improved W-LDA (weighted latent Dirichlet allocation) topic model to improve the shortcomings of traditional LDA topic models. In the process of the topic of word sampling and its word distribution expectation calculation of the Gibbs of the W-LDA topic model. An average weighted value is adopted to avoid topic-related words from being submerged by high-frequency words, to improve the distinction of the topic. It further integrates the highest classification of the algorithm of support vector machine based on the extracted high-quality document-topic distribution and topic-word vectors. Finally, an efficient integration method is constructed for the analysis and extraction of emotional words, topic distribution calculations, and sentiment classification. Through tests on real teaching evaluation data and test set of public comment set, the results show that the method proposed in the paper has distinct advantages compared with other two typical algorithms in terms of subject differentiation, classification precision, and F1-measure.

한국어 극성 사전 구축을 위한 크라우드소싱 기반 감성 단어 극성 태깅 게임 (A Crowdsourcing-based Emotional Words Tagging Game for Building a Polarity Lexicon in Korean)

  • 감성 분석은 글을 통해 작성자의 주관적인 생각이나 느낌을 분석하는 방법으로 효과적인 감성 분석을 위해서는 감성 단어 극성 사전 구축이 필수적이다. 본 논문은 효율적인 한국어 극성 사전 구축을 위해 우리가 개발한 크라우드소싱 기반 게임을 소개한다. 먼저, 크롤러를 이용해 인터넷 커뮤니티에서 말뭉치들을 수집했고, Twitter 형태소를 이용해 수집한 말뭉치를 형태소별로 분류하고 단어화했다. 이 단어들은 모바일 플랫폼 기반 태깅 게임 형태로 제공되어 게임플레이를 통해 플레이어들이 자발적으로 단어들의 극성을 선택하고 결과가 데이터 베이스에 축적되도록 게임이 설계되었다. 현재까지 약 1200여개의 단어들의 극성을 태깅하였으며, 향후 좀 더 많은 감성 단어 데이터들을 축적함으로써 특히 게임 도메인에서 한국어 감성 분석 연구에 기여할 것으로 기대한다.

소비자 감성을 고려한 소파 설계 DB 및 Interface 개발 (Development of Data Base and Interface for Sofa Design Considering Consumer Sensibility)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop data base and interface for sofa consumers and sofa designers. The human sensibility ergonomics method was used to find the consumer needs and Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method was used to extract the designing characteristics required for sofa production. About 200 words and 100 images were gathered from sofa and furniture related catalogs and internet sites to find the best emotional words and images that can express the various sofa aspect. Among the collected words and images, 34 emotional words were selected for sensibility experiment according to the opinions of experts, relations of closeness and frequency of use, and 50 images were selected for the experiment by the diversity. Selected words and images were used for the semantic differential method with 94 subjects, and sensibility characteristics of sofas were defined through various statistical analysis methods including basic statistical analysis, factor analysis and multi-dimensional scale. In reflecting design characteristics of sofas, design factors of sofas were divided into backrest, seat, armrest, neck support and leg, and relative importance of each factor for design was determined with analytic hierarchy process (AHP) by utilizing the experts' opinions. Based on the results above, relationship analysis between emotional evaluation results and design factors was performed. Also, as various sofa images are presented diagrammatically through multidimensional scaling method, it can be used as an important tool for the development of sofa design. This study will contribute improving the product quality of sofas as it enables applying consumer needs into the sofa design.

  • Students' engagement is important for meaningful learning and it has multifaceted aspects for their science learning. This study investigated elementary students' perceptions of science learning engagement. The subjects of this study were 341 4th to 6th elementary students. The survey questionnaires were 5-Likert scale questions and free response questions on science learning engagement. The results showed that elementary students' perceptions of behavioral engagement were higher than emotional and cognitive engagement. Keyword network analysis with NetMiner program showed that the frequent key words of science learning engagement were 'experiment', 'listening', and 'teachers' explanation', which were mostly the behavioral types of engagement. The degree centrality and eigenvector centrality of these key words appeared high. 'Interest', which is emotional engagement, were also one of the frequent key words, but the centralities of this word were relatively low. The Frequent key words of science learning disengagement were mostly related with off-tasks, not doing expected behaviors and negative emotions about science and science learning. Educational implications on science learning engagement were discussed.

제품 사용성과 감성에 관한 개념적 연구 (Conceptual framework for Emotions in Usability of Products)

  • 컴퓨터 기반 기술이 제품에 응용되어 제품의 본질이 변해감에 따라 제품의 외관보다는 제품을 쉽고 효과적으로 사용할 수 있게 하는 사용성이 제품 성공의 매우 중요한 요인이 되었다. 하지만 지금까지의 사용성에 대한 개념이나 연구들은 주로 사용자의 수행도로 직결되는 객관적인 측면만이 강조되었다. 이제 사용자들은 제품의 기능 수행도 측면뿐만 아니라 제품을 사용하면서 느끼는 감성적인 만족까지 가져다주기를 원하고 있다. 지금까지 인간의 감성에 대한 연구는 감성공학분야에서 많이 진행되었지만 기존의 감성공학관련 연구들을 살펴보면 대부분 제품의 외관과 인간의 감성에 관련된 것이 많다. 하지만 제품을 사용하면서 표출되는 인간의 감성에 관련된 연구는 아직 많이 이루어지고 있지 않는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 사용자들이 제품을 사용하면서 느끼는 감성의 변화를 조사하여 제품의 사용성이 인간의 감성에 어떤 영향을 미치는지에 대하여 밝혀 보고자 한다. 금번 연구에서는 모바일 폰을 대상으로 제품의 사용성과 인간의 감성연구를 위한 conceptual framework을 제시하였다. 또한 제품의 외관에서 느끼는 인간의 감성이 아니라 제품을 사용하는 도중에 표출되는 감성을 파악하기 위한 감성어휘를 추출하였다. 감성어휘는 다양한 문헌연구를 통한 기존의 감성어휘 조사, 웹사이트에서 사용자들이 남긴 제품 사용후기를 통한 수집 , 소리내어 생각하기(link aloud)를 활용한 실험을 통한 수집 등의 방법을 이용하여 추출한 후 웹 서베이를 통해 적합성을 검증하였다. 본 연구를 통해 추출된 감성어휘는 제품을 사용하면서 표출되는 인간의 감성 측정자료로 활용할 수 있고, conceptual framework은 사용자의 감성을 고려한 인터페이스 개발을 위한 기본 골격을 제공할 수 있으리라 기대한다.많은 심장외과 의사들이 로봇을 이용하여 작은 창상을 통해 최소 침습적 심장수술이 가능하리라 본다. 수술로봇을 이용한 심장수술의 이점을 분석하기 위해서는 잘 계획된 연구와 긴밀한 장기간의 관찰이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.하다고 생각된다.X>$2.46\pm0.56$개의 동맥을 획득하여, 좌전하행지 329곳, 대각지 123곳, 변연둔각지 285곳, 그리고 우관상동맥 191곳 등 총 928곳에 문합하여, 환자당 평균 $2.86\pm0.78$개의 문합률을 보였다. 수술 후 사망은 1예($0.3\%$)였다. 수술 후 뇌경색은 없었으며 주요 합병증으로는 종격동염 6예($1.8\%$), 신부전증 4예($1.2\%$), 심근경색이 3예($0.9\%$), 그리고 출혈로 인한 재수술이 3예($0.9\%$) 있었다. 총 혈관 개존율은 $99.3\%$ (581/585)였고, 좌내흉동맥, 요골동맥, 우내흉동맥 및 우위대망동맥의 개존율은 각각 $100\%$(207/207), $99.2\%$(238/240), $98.5\%$(133/135) 및 $100\%$ (313)였다. 각각 두 개의 요골동맥과 우내흉동맥에서 부분협착이나 경쟁혈류가 관찰되었다. 결론: 동맥 도관만을 이용한 Off pump CABG를 시행하여 감염의 위험성을 증가시키지 않으면서 영구적인 신경학적 합병증을 일으키지 않았고 좋은 혈관 개존율을 보여주었다. 따라서 동맥 도관을 이용한 Off pump CABG는 관상동맥의 협착의 정도에 따라 효율적으로 시행 시 좋은 임상결과를 얻을 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.였다.

청소년 감성어휘의 학령별 뇌파분석에 따른 공동주택 커뮤니티 시설 계획 (Planning of Apartment Community Facilities according to EEG Analysis by School Age of Youth Emotional Words)

  • Adolescence is differentiated from other development stages for the significant physical and emotional changes a person goes through that stage. This study has surveyed communal residencies in the Seoul area and the community facilities within them and has analyzed their correlation with the adolescents' emotional reactions according to their school age. This study is concerned with evaluating the perceptions of teenagers towards learning, cultural, and exercise facilities. These adjectives were positioned on the IRI adjective images to obtain representative words such as "noble", "gentle", and "cheerful" for the purpose of analysis. Furthermore, each representative word was assigned a color and then made into a simulation for the EEG experiment. The EEG signals of the teenagers in different educational levels indicated that EEG signals of high school students were more activated compared to that of middle school students and both groups responded to the "cheerful" images with high EEG signals. Therefore, in order for community facilities within communal residencies to actively support and activate leisure and academic activities for adolescents, they have to be connected to their emotional characteristics. It is also important to minutely plan according to their school age.

  • The present paper focuses on the interaction between lexical-semantic information and affective prosody. The previous studies showed that the influence of lexical-semantic information on the affective evaluation of the prosody was relatively clear, but the influence of emotional prosody on the word evaluation remains still ambiguous. In the present, we explore whether affective prosody influence on the evaluation of affective meaning of a word and vice versa, using more ecological stimulus (sentences) than simple words. We asked participants to evaluate the emotional valence of the sentences which were recorded with affective prosody (negative, neutral, and positive) in Experiment 1 and the emotional valence of their prosodies in Experiment 2. The results showed that the emotional valence of prosody can influence on the emotional evaluation of sentences and vice versa. Interestingly, the positive prosody is likely to be more responsible to this interaction.
