Training using metacognition in a learning environment is one of the topics that have been continuously studied since the 1990s. Metacognition can be broadly divided into declarative metacognitive knowledge and procedural metacognitive knowledge (metacognitive skills). Accordingly, metacognitive training has also been studied focusing on one of the two metacognitive knowledge. The purpose of this study was to examine the role of metacognitive skills training in the context of mathematical problem solving. Specifically, the learner performed the prediction of problem difficulty, estimation of problem solving time, and prediction of accuracy in the context of a test in which problems of various difficulty levels were mixed within a set, and this was repeated 5 times over a total of 5 weeks. As a result of the analysis, we found that there was a significant difference in all three predictive indicators after training than before training, and we revealed that training can help learners in problem-solving strategies. In addition, we analyzed whether there was a difference between the experiment group and control group in the degree of test anxiety and math achievement. As a result, we found that learners in the experiment group showed less emotional and relationship anxiety at 5 weeks. This effect through metacognitive skill training is expected to help learners improve learning strategies needed for test situations.

This paper applied components of experience-based communication in terms of experience theory of Burnd H. Schmitt and context-based communication in the messenger platform environment through the scenario-based survey method, in order to study the influence of individual experiences, shared experiences, ubiquitous connectivity, and contextual usefulness on the perceived value and use intention of chatbot. Through this, the study is to provide companies in various service industries with practical approaches to further promote the use of chatbot. The implications of this study are as follows. First, as most chatbots still do not exceed the human planning level of designing them, it is necessary to consider how to design individual experience elements functionally according to the customer's intention to speak when developing the chatbot. Second, the chatbot should be designed not only from the perspective of completing specific tasks at any real time in anywhere, but also from the overall perspective of enhancing the quality of interaction, including the situation to which the customer belongs. Third, since the chatbot is likely to be anthropomorphized by users, it is important to be cautious about determining the chatbot's 'persona' and 'tone and manner' when developing the chatbot. Customer satisfaction is the most important criterion for the success of chatbot development. In other words, the quality of planning and data rather than the quality of artificial intelligence algorithms determines the utilization of chatbot. This is why companies are trying to make interactions with chatbot as close as possible to human interactions.
With the development of IT technology, various smart products and services have been spread in our daily life, providing users with convenience and emotional satisfaction. Particularly, input and output technologies, sensor technologies, and intelligent system technologies have offered new opportunities for diverse interaction patterns and new user experiences. This research started from the interest in the idea generation of product designers who need to combine various technological aspects with users' needs. The goal of this research is to propose an interaction design framework which can be used in an idea generation stage. To do so, first, the concept and characteristics of smart products were studied through literature reviews, and the interaction technologies, including input/output modality and context-aware technologies, were also investigated. Then, the frameworks that have been proposed in the deisgn fields were reviewed. This paper finally proposed the interaction design framework and explained its application to the idea generation, using several case studies. The proposed framework consists of four categories: product components, context-awareness elements, information input elements, and feedback output elements. Each of these are divided into several sub-categories, focused on users' needs. Sub-categories includes some elements of interaction, and each of the elements is explained with an existing smart product/system. The paper also describes how the proposed framework would be used in the idea generation process, using some design ideation examples. In the future study, more various concept ideas will be proposed through some elaborated case studies, and the framework is expected to be verified in terms of its possibility as an idea generation tool.

The purpose of this study was to explore the characteristics of STEAM program developed and implemented by two docents and its educational impact for the use of natural history museum. Two docents developed this program with the help of science educators who ran five times of workshop during five months. The STEAM program implemented in the natural history museum demonstrated the following characteristics. The exhibitions in museum were reached by visitors only for learning science concepts (S) out of five components in STEAM. The other components, T (technology) and E (engineering), were delivered through lectures in the room, not exhibition hall. M (Mathematics)was achieved by guessing the animal's size, or calculating the walking or running speed with the clue of foot prints. The three phases of STEAM program (presentation of context, creatively design the investigation, and emotional touch) were explicitly implemented but partially successful. Two docents participating in this study responded that they formed new or extended the understandings about STEAM education, but they had the difficulties in implementing STEAM program for various type of visitors. All visitors who participated in this study displayed the favorable responses in educational impact by STEAM program in natural history museum. The heavier emphasis on E and T of STEAM program is recommended through community-based learning. In addition, educator professional program through which docents can bridge theory into practice is suggested for revitalization of STEAM education.

E-shopping is traditional method to purchase products in a modern society. Fashion products are one of the most popular product categories sold and impulsively bought online. This study examined the causal relationship of shopping value, positive emotion, urge to buy impulsively, and e-impulse buying in the context of shopping for apparel products. A self-administered questionnaire developed from the literature was administered in class to 501 female college students in Busan. AMOS 21.0 estimated the structural equation model of e-impulse buying using a correlation matrix with a maximum likelihood. The analysis of the data supported most of the predictions. The results suggested that consumer shopping values (hedonic shopping value and utilitarian shopping value) had a positive effect on positive emotion; in addition, positive emotion urge to buy impulsively directly affected the e-impulse buying of apparel products. In the structural model, e-impulse buying of consumers can be predicted by the attitudinal component (e.g., shopping values), emotional factors (e.g., enthusiastic or proud), and the urge to buy impulsively felt by young consumers. There are implications that both positive emotion and impulsive buying are important predictors for the e-impulse buying of apparel products by consumers. Moreover, the urge to buy impulsively was an important mediator to determine the e-impulse buying of apparel products. This study provides insight to retailers and researchers to understand the structural relationship of consumer characteristics and the e-impulse buying of apparel products.

Autonomic responses were analyzed in 323 college students exposed to visual stimulation with Korean Affective Picture System (KAPS). Cardiac, vascular and electrodermal variables were recorded during 30 sec of viewing affective pictures. The same slides intended to elicit basic emotions (fear, anger, surprise, disgust, sadness, happiness) were presented to subjects in 2 trials with different experimental context. The first time slides were shown without any instructions (passive viewing), while during the second with instruction to exert efforts to magnify experienced emotion induced by pictures (active viewing). The aim of the study was to differentiate autonomic manifestations of emotions elicited by KAPS stimulation and to identify the role of instructed emotional engagement on physiological response profiles. The obtained results demonstrated reproducibility of responses in both trials with different contexts. Pairwise comparison of physiological responses in emotion conditions revealed the most pronounced differentiation for "ear-anger" and "fear-sadness" pairs (in electrodermal and HR variability parameters). "Fear-surprise" pair was also well differentiable. The typical response profile for all emotions included HR acceleration (except happiness and surprise), an increase of electrodermal activity, and a decrease of pulse volume. Higher cardiovascular and electrodermal reactivity to fear observed in this study, e.g., as compared to data with IAPS as stimuli, can be explained by cultural relevance and higher effectiveness of KAPS as stimuli, can be explained by cultural relevance and higher effectiveness of KAPS in producing certain emotions such as fear in Koreans.

One of the most important topics in attentional and emotional modulation of cardiac responses is time course of cardiac chronotropic response. The reason lies in dual innervation of heart, which leads to occurrence of several phases of cardiac response during exposure to affective stimuli, determined by the balance of sympathetic and parasympathetic influences. Cardiac chronotropic reactivity thus represents quite effective measure capable to trace the moment when attending and orienting processes (i.e., sensory intake of stimulus) prime relevant behavioral response (ile., emotion with approach or avoidance tendencies). The aim of this study was to find the time course of heart rate (HR) responses typical for negative (disgust, surprise, fear, anger) and positive (happiness, pleasant erotic) affective pictures and to identify cardiac response dissociation for emotions with different action tendencies such as "approach" (surprise, anger, happiness) and "avoidance" (fear, sadness, disgust). Forty college students participated in this study where cardiac responses to slides from IAPS intended to evoke basic emotions (surprise, fear, anger, sadness, disgust, happiness, pleasant-erotic). Inter-beat intervals of HR were analyzed on every 10 sec basis during 60 sec long exposure to affective visual stimuli. Obtained results demonstrated that differentiation was observed at the very first 10s of exposure (anger-fear, surprise-sad, surprise-erotic, surprise-happiness paris), reaching the peak of dissociation at 30s (same pairs plus surprise-disgust and surprise-fear) and was still effective for some pairs (surprise-erotic, surprise-sad) even at 50s and 60s. discussed are potential cardiac autonomic mechanisms underlying attention and emotion processes evoked by affective stimulation and theoretical considerations implicated to understand the role of differential cardiac reactivity in the behavioral context (e.g., approach-avoidance tendencies, orienting-defense responses).

Objectives: The current study reviews the implementation and evaluation of the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP) in the United States (U.S.) to illustrate the program's potential contribution to improving health among Korean adults with chronic conditions while saving healthcare costs. Methods: This study examines existing literature on the history, theoretical background, essential elements, and delivery outcomes of CDSMP with special focus on the successes and challenges to be faced in the implementation of CDSMP to Koreans with chronic conditions. Results: CDSMP is designed to empower people with chronic conditions to develop skills necessary for medical, social role, and emotional management of chronic conditions. Recent studies show the utility of CDSMP in achieving the Triple Aim health reform goals (i.e., better care, better health, better value). Lessons learned from the U.S. experience emphasize the importance of establishing evidence-based studies, collaborating with community partners, and diversifying funding sources to make CDSMP more sustainable. Conclusion: The current study demonstrates the replicability of CDSMP and potential for expansion in Korea. More concerted efforts among academia, government, and communities are needed to deliver CDSMP to Korean adults and identify its effectiveness within the Korean context in terms of meeting the Triple Aim goals of better care, better health, and better value.

Different method of textile fabrication had existed since the ancient times, but the most dominant form was the 'weaving' method which embodies the cross fabrication of vertical and horizontal threads using special weaving machines (looms). In addition, fabrication methods like knitting, felt, and lace were commonly practiced while intertwinement methods like twisting, braiding, and knotting techniques were frequently used for weaving strings and braid type textiles. In the past, people did not pay attention to strings and braids because they were classified as non-textiles, but, in this paper, we have expanded the scope of definition of textile to include strings and braids, and seek to conduct in-depth research on various different intertwinement of textiles. The adaptation of intertwinement method in arts and crafts enables limitless creative works reflecting the ever-changing taste and style of the creator. This creativity is further broadened by the fact that intertwinement methods encompass no set patterns and the subject and shape of its creation is as broad as its artistic pursuits. We can infer the knowledge of our ancestors, their aesthetic taste, and the pattern of life from these creations. In addition, these creations can provide comfort and improve the quality of life of modem people who are deeply deprived of sentimental and emotional solitude in the technological civilization of the 21stcentury. The main purpose of this paper is to examine traditional Korean arts and crafts made using the intertwinement methodology through the context of strings, braids, straw crafts and knotting method. Then it will conduct through research on the different materials, forms, characteristics, usage and other key notions based on the currently preserved records and relics to contribute to the research on traditional textiles and provide the foundations to the development of the Korean culture and cultural products, reflecting the true sole and aesthetics of traditional Korean textile crafts.
Due to the increasing concerns with the North Korean defectors, the researches have been increased.. However when compared with other areas, the researches about the North Korean defectors are rare. The sample size of this study is 171, which makes it possible to do statistical inferences. This study examines the adjustment stress and the effect of social support on the adaptation. As a demographic factors, gender, age and education are controlled. The context factors-the period of the stay in the third place, the period of residence and the existence of the education in Korea- are used as control variables. The research results show that the jobless is an important stressor. The structural social support affects the adjustment of stress as a whole and not individually. Among functional social support, the emotional social support is an important factor of adaptation, but the effect of structural social support is the opposite. Therefore, the adequacy of social support must be considered.
