Investigating electromagnetic emissions of inverter power sources for resistance welding existing special aspects of EMI measurements in the field of resistance welding machines resulting from the power rating and intermittent operation mode of these machines have to be taken into account. The characteristics of the internal switching processes determined by the behavior of the applied power semiconductors, snubber circuits and constructional aspects exert a great influence on the conducted emission of resistance welding inverters.
Decreasing actual greenhouse gas will be difficult if it is not solved addressed in architectural fields. Zero emission building or zero energy building, maximize the efficiency of energy, which means the building can operate by their own renewable energy facility without any other supplying. To be a zero emission building, a building needs realization of high efficiency low energy consumption, construction of building its own energy production facilities and lastly a power grid connection. According to increasing of DC load about TV, LED lighting, computer, IT in building for living and business, it is expected the save of energy when the system of AC power distribution change into the system of DC power distribution. Renewable energy exists a big different rate produced by outside environment. When electrical power overproduce, it can supply for system. Otherwise, if electrical power produce less, it can receive supply from system. Send and receive power can lead to zero to annual standard. This paper shows the simulation about efficient control of power conversion which is related to DC power distribution of architecture and DC output of renewable energy by using L-type converter.
High Temperature Superconductor power cable systems are being developed actively to solve the problem of increasing power demand. With increases in the unit length of the High Temperature Superconductor power cable, it is necessary to develop highly efficient and reliable cryogenic pumps to transport the coolant over long distances. Generally, to obtain a high degree of efficiency, the cryogenic pump requires a high pressure rise with a low flow rate, and a partial emission type pump is appropriate considering its low specific speed, which is different from the conventional centrifugal type, full emission type. This paper describes the design of a partial emission pump to circulate subcooled liquid nitrogen. It consists of an impeller, a circular case and a diffuser. The conventional pump and the partial emission pump have different features in the impeller and the discharge flow passage. The partial emission pump uses an impeller with straight radial blades. The emission of working fluid does not occur continuously from all of the impeller channels, and the diffuser allows the flow only from a part of the impeller channels. As the area of the diffuser increases gradually, it converts the dynamic pressure into static pressure while minimizing the loss of total pressure. We used the known numerical method for the optimum design process and made a CFD analysis to verify the theoretical performance.

In order to operate the power system satisfactory for both system operators and customers, it is important to limit the harmonic currents to the allowable levels which injected into the system from the distorting installations. In this regard, the principles for the allocation of emission limits on individual customer were introduced in the technical report of IEC61000-3-6. According to these general principles, the emission limits are dependent on the agreed power of the customer, the power of the harmonic-generating equipment, and the system characteristics. The considerations in this report are very comprehensive and the process introduced is practical enough to implement as it is. However, there is a fact not appropriately dealing in the report that could be a very tickle but has a huge impact on determining the emission limit. This is the effect of non-harmonic load currents. More precisely, these are from the equipments which do not emit any harmonic or may emit harmonics but this specific order under the consideration by themselves if the source power is sinusoidal. The load currents originated from these equipments have an effect of active filter against the specific order of harmonic therefore, these should be dealt as a significant factoron the process of determining the emission limits for individual customer.
The purpose of this study is to analyze effects of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission reduction in district energy business mainly based on Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants. Firstly this paper compares the actual carbon intensity of power production between conventional power plants and district energy plants. To allocate the GHG from CHP plants, two of different methods which were Alternative Generation Method and Power Bonus Method, have been investigated. The carbon intensity of power production in district energy plants ($0.43tonCO_2e/MWh$) was relatively lower than conventional gas-fired power plants ($0.52tonCO_2e/MWh$). Secondly we assessed the cost effectiveness of reduction by district energy sector compared to the other means using TIMES model method. We find that GHG marginal abatement cost of 'expand CHP' scenario (-$134/ton$CO_2$) is even below than renewable energy scenario such as photovoltaic power generation ($87/ton$CO_2$). Finally the GHG emission reduction potential was reviewed on the projected GHG emission emitted when the same amount of energy produced in combination of conventional power plants and individual boilers as substitution of district energy. It showed there were 10.1~41.8% of GHG emission reduction potential in district energy compared to the combination of conventional power plants and individual boilers.

As a subset of the Internet of Things, the Internet of Energy (IoE) is expected to tackle the problems faced by the current smart grid framework. Notably, the conventional day-ahead power scheduling of the smart grid should be redesigned in the IoE architecture to take into consideration the intermittence of scattered renewable generations, large amounts of power consumption data, and the uncertainty of the arrival time of electric vehicles (EVs). Accordingly, a day-ahead power scheduling system for the future IoE is proposed in this research to maximize the usage of distributed renewables and reduce carbon emission caused by the traditional power generation. Meanwhile, flexible charging mechanism of EVs is employed to provide preferred charging options for moving EVs and flatten the load profile simultaneously. The simulation results revealed that the proposed power scheduling mechanism not only achieves emission reduction and balances power load and supply effectively, but also fits each individual EV user's preference.

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is an international environmental treaty to stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere. In order to fulfil the commitments of the countries in an economically efficient way, the UNFCCC adapted the emission trading scheme in the Kyoto Protocol. If the UNFCCC's scheme is enforced in the country, considerable changes in electric power industry are expected due to the imposed greenhouse gas emission reduction. This paper proposes a game theoretic model of the case when generation companies participate in both competitive electricity market and emission market simultaneously. The model is designed such that generation companies select strategically between power quantity and greenhouse gas reduction to maximize their profits in both markets. Demand function and Environmental Welfare of emission trading market is proposed in this model. From the simulation results using the proposed model the impact of the emission trading on generation companies seems very severe in case that the emission prices are significantly high.

This paper presents the greenhouse gas emission trading scheme which is under progress as a pilot project at the power sector in preparation for UNFCCC. By referring UK's, Emission Trading is introduced incentive auction to maximize the reduction of greenhouse gas emission. At the 1st step, from year 2006 to 2008, only CO2 is regarded as an objective target to decrease but emission credit is excluded with an assumption and only 5 Generation company take part in as participants. The market operating procedure is composed of participants' registration, baseline verification, incentive auction, the registration of initial and yearly allocation, emission trading, yearly emission verification & approval, yearly obligation conformity, carry forward & incentive grant. It can be serve a guideline the whole aspects of emission trading which will start in 2006 including operation, verification and profit sharing.

Particles emitted from three coal-fired power plants burning bituminous and sub-bituminous coals were examined for PM and size fractions PM>2.5 and PM2.5. The ratio of PM2.5/PM was ranged from 10 to 62%, and PM emission increased with the amount of coal feed, which was 7.23~15.66 kg/h. The emission range of PM2.5 from three power plants was 1.24~4.48 kg/h (dry), which was function of the mixed rate of viscous sub-bituminous coal in feed. Of course such effect should be examined by further tests in details. Based on the consumed coal and thermal load, the emission factors averaged were shown as 59.03 g-PM/ton-coal, 14.79 g-PM2.5/ton-coal and 22.51 g-PM/MWh, 5.54 g-PM2.5/MWh, respectively.
Acoustic emission (AE) is known to be sensitive to fracture process and so it was expected that AE data may propose as a means of monitoring the fracture information. The aim of this study is to analyze the characteristic of AE signal emitted from glass during Vickers indentation. To observe AE characteristics by surface effect, both glass and coating glass were studied. During Vickers indentation loading, AE signal resulted from penny-like crack is detected. During Vickers indentation unloading, AE signal resulted from both radial/median crack and lateral crack is detected. In case of indentation on glass, the emission energy(${\epsilon}$) is found to be approximately proportional to the fourth power of the crack length. In case of indentation on coating glass, the emission energy(${\epsilon}$) is approximately proportional to the crack length.
