In this study, the researchers have developed the greenhouse gas emission coefficients targeted at sewage sludge incineration plants that treat sewage sludge by incineration. Among the gases emitted from the sewage sludge incineration plants, the greenhouse gases showed concentrations of 6.84% for $CO_2$, 4.51 ppm for $CH_4$, and 86.34 ppm for $N_2O$; calculated into greenhouse gas emission coefficients, these gave $276.06kg\;CO_2/ton$, $0.0066kg\;CH_4/ton$, and $0.35kg\;N_2O/ton$. As the result of calculating the greenhouse gas emission quantity in sewage sludge incineration plants using the greenhouse gas emission coefficients, the gross greenhouse gas emission was $84.63ton\;CO_2\;eq./day$, and the net emission was $23.90ton\;CO_2\;eq./day$; this was $37.52ton\;CO_2\;eq./day$ less than the net greenhouse gas emission that was calculated using the standard values of IPCC, which was $61.42ton\;CO_2\;eq./day$. This difference is probably because unlike the standard values of IPCC, the greenhouse gas emission coefficients of this study reflected the special properties of subject facilities. Thus, it is thought that emission coefficient research on the facilities that deviated from the standard values of IPCC should continue to achieve the development of national greenhouse gas coefficient that reflects the special properties of Korea.
In recent days, photochemical smog due to the rapid industry development and vehicle increasement has become a critical pollutant in the metropolitan area and the number of ozone alarm signal has increased every year. This research was performed to evaluate VOCs emission source characteristics and concentration of VOCs in Daegu. The site average concentration was observed in the following order: industrial area > commercial area > residential area. Most of the VOCs species except toluene showed variations with higher concentration during nighttime, and lower concentration during the daytime. The major VOCs of stationary emission source were BTEX(benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene. xylene) and methylene chloride, trichloroethene and styrene. Also, those of automobile exhaust were toluene and benzene. Also, the major VOCs concentration emited by the vehicle fuel was observed in the following order: gasoline > light oil > liquefied petroleum gas (L.P.G). Correlation coefficients values were estimated between major VOCs such as toluene, ethylbenzene, m,p-xylene, o-xylene. Results showed that correlation coefficient values were significant magnitude above 0.76. Also, there showed highly significant correlations among ethyl benzene, m,p-xylene, and o-xylene concentration(Pearson correlation coefficients, r=0.868-0.982). Calculated correlation coefficients among commercial area, industrial area and residential area were 0.934-0.981, they showed high correlation. There showed highly correlation between stationary emission source and industrial area, compared with commercial area and residential area. Also, calculated correlation coefficients among commercial area, industrial area, residential area and automobile exhaust were 0.732, 0.725, 0.777, respectively.
The purpose of this study is to predict VOCs emission rates from multi-layers materials, which are composed of single-layer materials having various VOCs emission rates, by using effective diffusion coefficients of the single-layer materials. The study was consisted of two parts; the one is the prediction of VOCs emission rates from multi-layer materials through numerical methods. The other is the measurement of VOCs emissions rates of wall composite and floor composite in Mock-up rooms for comparing the prediction and the experiments' values. The results of the study show that the short-term VOCs emission rates of multi-layers materials can be predicted from the effective diffusion coefficients of single materials in odor accuracy.

Burning the fossil fuel in the thermal power plants causes green house gas emission. Monitoring of CO2 emission of the thermal power plants is growing more important because the amount produced by them is more than 20 percent of national total emission. This paper proposes a method to calculate the amount of the CO2 emission w.r.t. generator[MW] output using the input-output coefficients of the thermal power plants. The power flow computation together with the CO2 emission calculation are demonstrated in a sample power system.

The wavelet transform is the most recent technique for processing signals with time-varying spectra. In this paper, the wavelet transform is utilized to improved the assessment and multi-resolution analysis of acoustic emission signals generating in partial discharge. This paper especially deals with the assessment of process statistical parameter using the features extracted from the wavelet coefficients of measured acoustic emission signals in case of applied voltage 20[kv]. Since the parameter assessment using all wavelet coefficients will often turn out leads to inefficient or inaccurate results, we selected that level-3 stage of multi decomposition in discrete wavelet transform. We applied FIR(Finite Impulse Response)digital filter algorithm in discrete to suppression for random noise. The white noise be included high frequency component denoised as decomposition of discrete wavelet transform level-3. We make use of the feature extraction parameter namely, maximum value of acoustic emission signal, average value, dispersion, skewness, kurtosis, etc. The effectiveness of this new method has been verified on ability a diagnosis transformer go through feature extraction in stage of acting(the early period, the last period) .

BACKGROUND: Ammonia is known as a precursor to fine particulate matter, and according to CAPSS, annual ammonia emissions in the agricultural sector were 249,777 tons as of 2018, accounting for about 79.0% of Korea's total ammonia emissions. In particular, ammonia emissions from agricultural land increased by 19,566 tons (10.2%) compared to the previous year. The Ministry of Environment is setting emission statistics using the ammonia emission coefficient developed in Korea in 2008, but researchers in the agricultural field regard it as a coefficient that does not reflect the reality of Korea's agricultural environment. Accordingly, in order to develop ammonia emission coefficients from the cultivation of apples and pears, Korea's representative fruit type, test agricultural land was set in Iksan, Jeollabuk-do. METHODS AND RESULTS: This study attempted to obtain the ammonia emission coefficient by the treatment of the composite fertilizer (N-P2O5-K2O=12-7-9), and the flux was measured using a dynamic flow-through chamber method. As for the chamber, a total of 12 chambers were installed repeatedly in 4 zones and used to develop emission coefficients. Using compound fertilizers during fruit tree cultivation, the ammonia emission coefficient was evaluated as 10.4 kg NH3/ton for pears and 15.3 kg NH3/ton for apples. The reason why the ammonia emission coefficient according to the use of composite fertilizers was calculated higher for apple cultivation is believed to be due to the relatively high pH concentration of apple orchard soil. CONCLUSION(S): This study may provide basic data for upgrading the ammonia emission coefficient when using composite fertilizers in agricultural land. In the future, it might be necessary to upgrade the calculation of emissions through the development of ammonia and fine particulate matter emission coefficients considering the agricultural environment of Korea.

The global warming due to greenhouse gases is now the hottest issue all over the world. The world has been under $CO_2$ war since the Kyoto Protocol was opened for signature on December 11, 1997 in Kyoto, Japan. The Kyoto Protocol now covers more than 164 countries globally as of July 2006. Countries that ratify this protocol commit to reduce their $CO_2$ emissions, or engage in emissions trading. Korea is also expected to obey the Protocol starting in 2013, which will give a serious shock especially to the electric power industry. The power plants burning the fossil fuel produce more than 20 percent of national total $CO_2$ emission. This paper resents the calculation of the amount and cost of $CO_2$ emission w.r.t. generator MW output and its application to power system operation. The $CO_2$ emission function is derived using the input-output coefficients of the thermal power plants. The optimal power system operation considering $CO_2$ emission and its cost is demonstrated on a five-bus sample power system.

In this paper, we have established the procedures for $CO_2$ emission estimation BIM libraries by using the material takeoff function that BIM tools fundamentally provide, and verified its availability by applying to steel structures. The BIM library set-up procedures were made up of $CO_2$ emission coefficients and parameter extraction, project unit setting, parameter setting, and $CO_2$ emission quantity calculation formula set-up. We used Revit Architecture 2013 as BIM tool, and established the steel members' family libraries as BIM libraries. It is possible to calculate the $CO_2$ emission quantity by following the proposed BIM library set-up procedures, and users have only to input the $CO_2$ emission coefficients and unit weights of steel members being used. We expect that the results contribute to practical use of BIM in field, and vitalizations of the eco-friendly construction.
Japanese larch specimens with dimension of 2.5 (radial direction) ${\times}$ 2.5 (tangential direction) ${\times}$ 2.5 cm (longitudinal direction) were prepared to determine 3 different directional internal moisture movement coefficients and surface emission coefficients along the radial-, the tangential-, and the tangential-direction. 4 sides of each cubic specimen were wrapped with paraffin tape and rubber tape, leaving open the 2 opposite surfaces of interest, to provide one dimensional moisture movement during drying. The coefficients were determined at three different temperatures, 70, 50 and $30^{\circ}C$ and at two different relative humidities, 30 and 60%. Internal moisture movement coefficients inclusive of flow of free water and diffusion of bound water and water vapor were increased in the high temperature condition. The internal moisture movement coefficient in the longitudinal direction was about six times of those in transverse directions with radial value being 20% greater than the tangential. Surface emission coefficients were increased with temperature and decreased with surface moisture content. Using this results, moisture content (MC) profile and quantities of moisture evaporating in Japanese larch lumber could be predicted in dynamic drying situations.
