With the rapid development of urban traffic system and fast increasing of vehicle numbers, the traditional centralized ways to generate the source-destination shortest path in terms of travel time(the optimal path) encounter several problems, such as high server pressure, low query efficiency, roads state without in-time updating. With the widespread use of smart cameras in the urban traffic and surveillance system, this paper maps the optimal path finding problem in the dynamic road network to the shortest routing problem in the smart camera networks. The proposed distributed optimal path generation algorithm employs the delay routing and caching mechanism. Real-time route update is also presented to adapt to the dynamic road network. The test result shows that this algorithm has advantages in both query time and query packet numbers.

Nowadays, technologies such as RFID, sensor network makes our life comfortable more and more. In this paper we propose a wearable computing system for blind and deaf person who can be easily out of sight from our technology. We are making a wearable computing system that is consisted of embedded board to processing data, ultrasonic sensors to get distance data and motors that make vibration as a signal to see the screen for a deaf person. This system offers environmental informations by text and voice. For example, distance data from a obstacle to a person are calculated by data compounding module using sensed ultrasonic reflection time. This data is converted to text or voice by main processing module, and are serviced to a handicapped person. Furthermore we will extend this system using a voice recognition module and text to voice convertor module to help communication among the blind and deaf persons.

The new mobile edge network architecture has been required for an increasing amount of traffic, quality requirements, advanced driver assistance system for autonomous driving and new cloud computing demands on highway. This article proposes a hierarchical cloud computing architecture to enhance performance by using adaptive data load distribution for buses that play the role of edge computing server. A vehicular dynamic cloud is based on wireless architecture including Wireless Local Area Network and Long Term Evolution Advanced communication is used for data transmission between moving buses and cars. The main advantages of the proposed architecture include both a reduction of data loading for top layer cloud server and effective data distribution on traffic jam highway where moving vehicles require video on demand (VOD) services from server. Through the description of real environment based on NS-2 network simulation, we conducted experiments to validate the proposed new architecture. Moreover, we show the feasibility and effectiveness for the connected car media service on highway.
As the amount of flash memory being used in embedded device is increased and embedded devices become more important in many computing environments, embedded file system security becomes more important issue. Moreover embedded devices can be easily stolen or lost because of it's high portability. If the lost embedded device has very important information, there's no means to protect it except data encryption. For improving embedded devices' security this paper propose design and implementation of flash cryptographic file system. For this purpose YAFFS is used. By the modified YAFFS cryptographic file system, the security of embedded devices can be improved.
In this paper, we have designed a Fingerprint Recognition System based on the Embedded LINUX. The fingerprint is captured using the AS-S2 semiconductor sensor. To extract a feature vector we transform the image of the fingerprint into a column vector. The image is row-wise filtered with the low-pass filter of the Haar wavelet. The feature vectors of the different fingerprints are compared by computing with the probabilistic neural network the distance between the target feature vector and the stored feature vectors in advance. The system implemented consists of a server PC based on the LINUX and a client based on the Embedded LINUX. The client is a Tynux box-x board using a PXA-255 CPU. The algorithm is simple and fast in computing and comparing the fingerprints.

In the field of electrical industry, embedded computing environment including hardware and software is getting more important as the industry shifts to the knowledge-based one. Java could play a great role as bridging technology in such a transition because it provides a lot of benefits like dynamic application download, compatibility of cross platform, and its own security solution. However, the Java technology has a limitation of real-time problem when it is applied to the embedded computing system of the electrical industry. To solve the problem, a novel java-native combination model has been proposed and designed to a firmware level. This scheme has been employed in four kinds of control boards. The result shows that the proposed model has great potential to implement the real-time processing in control of the devices.
High-performance processors using Non-Uniform Cache Architecture (NUCA) are increasingly used to deal with the growing wire delays in multicore/manycore processors. Due to the convergence of high-performance computing with embedded computing, NUCA caches are expected to benefit high-end embedded systems as well. However, for real-time systems that use multicore processors with NUCA caches, it is crucial to bound worst-case execution time (WCET) accurately and safely. In this paper, we developed a WCET analysis approach by considering the effect of static NUCA caches on WCET. We compared the WCET in real-time applications with different topologies of static NUCA caches. Our experimental results demonstrated that the static NUCA cache could improve the worst-case performance of realtime applications using multicore processor compared to the cache with uniform access time.

The cloud computing evolution has brought us increasing necessity to manage virtual resources. For this reason, Kubernetes has developed to realize autonomous resource management in a large scale. It provides cloud computing infrastructure to handle cluster creations and deletions in a secure virtual computing environment. In the paper, we provide a monitoring scheme in which users can observe securely encrypted protocols while each Kubernetes component exchanges their packets. Eventually, users can utilize the proposed scheme for debugging as well as monitoring.

Recent advances in electronics have enabled various conventional products to incorporate with numerous powerful microcontroller. Generally, an embedded system is a computer system designed for specific control functions within a larger system, often with real-time computing constraints. The growing performance and reliability of hardware components and the possibilities brought by various design method enabled implementing complex functions that improve the comport of the system's occupant as well as their safety. A cyber physical system (CPS) is a system featuring a tight combination of, and coordination between, the system's computational and physical elements. The concept of cyber physical system, including physical elements, cyber elements, and shared networks, has been introduced due to two general reasons: design flexibility and reliability. This paper presents a cyber physical system where system components are connected to a shared network, and control functions are divided into small tasks that are distributed over a number of embedded controllers with limited computing capacity. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of cyber physical system, an unmanned forklift with autonomous obstacle avoidance ability is implemented and its performance is experimentally evaluated.

In this paper, the two-stage object detection approach is proposed to implement a deep learning-based label inspection system on edge computing environments. Since the label printed on the products during the production process contains important information related to the product, it is significantly to check the label information is correct. The proposed system uses the lightweight deep learning model that able to employ in the low-performance edge computing devices, and the two-stage object detection approach is applied to compensate for the low accuracy relatively. The proposed Two-Stage object detection approach consists of two object detection networks, Label Area Detection Network and Character Detection Network. Label Area Detection Network finds the label area in the product image, and Character Detection Network detects the words in the label area. Using this approach, we can detect characters precise even with a lightweight deep learning models. The SF-YOLO model applied in the proposed system is the YOLO-based lightweight object detection network designed for edge computing devices. This model showed up to 2 times faster processing time and a considerable improvement in accuracy, compared to other YOLO-based lightweight models such as YOLOv3-tiny and YOLOv4-tiny. Also since the amount of computation is low, it can be easily applied in edge computing environments.
