  • The air gap between electromagnet and guiderail in an EMS-type Maglev vehicle must be maintained within an allowable deviation by controlling the voltage on the magnet. In this type of vehicle, the air gap response is strongly dependent on the structural characteristics of the elevated guideway, such as stiffness, damping and mass. For this reason, the dynamic interaction between the vehicle with electromagnets and the elevated guideway must be understood to ensure safe running. The response of the air gap to guideway characteristics such as mass, stiffness, and damping are analyzed through vehicle tests over different guideways. Through such tests, the design requirements for Maglev vehicles and elevated guideways can be established, improving levitation stability.

  • Maglev vehicles, which are levitated and propelled by electromagnets, often run on elevated guideways comprised of steel, aluminum and concrete. Therefore, an analysis of the dynamic interaction between the Maglev vehicle and the guideway is needed in the design of the critical speed, ride, controller design and weight reduction of the guideway. This study introduces a dynamic interaction simulation technique that applies FEM. The proposed method uses FEM to model the elevated guideway and the Maglev vehicle, which is different from conventional studies. Because the proposed method uses FEM, it is useful to calculate the deformation of the elevated guideway, the dynamic stress, and the motion of the vehicle. By applying the proposed method to an urban transit Maglev vehicle, UTM01, the dynamic response is simulated according to velocity increase and can be reviewed again. From the result of the study, we concluded that FEM simulation of the dynamic interaction between the maglev vehicle and the guideway is possible.

도시철도 영업운행열차 내 소음에 관한 고찰 (A Study on Noise Characteristics in the Running Train of the Urban Railway)

  • The SeoulMerto, operating subway line No.$1{\sim}4$, was constructed in the metropolitan Seoul with the highest population. When it was built, the design was challenged to sharp curved tracks considering the protection of buildings, cultural assets, the connection to ground roads and rivers as well as to elevated railway in some parts. Lots of residential apartments and business complex have gradually increased in the area around subway stations and railway lines according to the urban development. Consequently, Requirements of better quality of life and comfortable environment caused the citizen complain for the noise. It has become one of serious social issues. In this paper, Noise level was analyzed using noise map measured in the running train of all routes. The analysis on the noise level was conducted according to railway type, track components type, seasonal type, retirement degree of the vehicle and subway station. Especially, Noise characteristics were analyzed by noise level data measured in the inside and outside of the train with geometry types of the concrete track. This study will contribute fundamental data for the "The Development of Sound-Absorbing Block on Concrete Track" promoted on The National R&D Project.

무인자동운전 경전철시스템 고가교량의 비상운전 중 안전성평가 (Safety Evaluation of Elevated Guideway during Abnormal Operation on LRT of Driverless Automatic Driving System)

  • Trains in LRT(Light Railway Transit) system usually have shorter car length than metro's because of their smaller passensers demand. Therefore it is very likely that the load condition of LRT system in abnormal operation, in case of which trains are in close proximity by system broke or train rescue works, could be worse rather than in normal operation, in spite of rare probability of abnormal operation. In this study, the target reliability indexes of several abnormal operations are estimated in accordance with the occurrence probabilities of each abnormal operation case and the reliability index of normal operation presented by the specification. From the indexes, load factors for the abnormal operation cases are estimated and the safety evaluation is performed for Yong-in LRT project.

  • The high speed train service will be offered for high-quality transport service in existing railway by Korean National Railroad(KNR). Therefore, this paper presents the results of analysis carried out to determine the dynamic response characteristics of deck plate girder bridges which are representative elevated structures of existing railway and to evaluate their suitabilities for supporting Korea Train Express(KTX) trainsets in the speed range 0-250 km/h. Their dynamic characteristics are analyzed concerning structural safety, train-operation safety and passenger comfort. The simplified method for 2-dimensional train/track/bridge interaction analysis is utilized in the analysis of dynamic behaviors of deck plate girder bridges.

Quasi-static test of the precast-concrete pile foundation for railway bridge construction

  • Precast concrete elements in accelerated bridge construction (ABC) extends from superstructure to substructure, precast pile foundation has proven a benefit for regions with fragile ecological environment and adverse geological condition. There is still a lack of knowledge of the seismic behavior and performance of the precast pile foundation. In this study, a 1/8 scaled model of precast pile foundation with elevated cap is fabricated for quasi-static test. The failure mechanism and responses of the precast pile-soil interaction system are analyzed. It is shown that damage occurs primarily in precast pile-soil interaction system and the bridge pier keeps elastic state because of its relatively large cross-section designed for railways. The vulnerable part of the precast pile with elevated cap is located at the embedded section, but no plastic hinge forms along the pile depth under cyclic loading. Hysteretic curves show no significant strength degradation but obvious stiffness degradation throughout the loading process. The energy dissipation capacity of the precast pile-soil interaction system is discussed by using index of the equivalent viscous damping ratio. It can be found that the energy dissipation capacity decreases with the increase of loading displacement due to the unyielding pile reinforcements and potential pile uplift. It is expected to promote the use of precast pile foundation in accelerated bridge construction (ABC) of railways designed in seismic regions.

선하역사의 슬래브 진동에 의한 소음방사 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study of Noise Characteristics Induced by Slab Vibration for the Elevated Railway Station)

  • 궤도가 역사의 상부에서 연결되는 선하역사 형식의 경우 일반 역사 구조형식과 달리 진동이 직접 전달되는 구조적 특성으로 인하여 진동 및 소음레벨이 타 형식의 역사와 대비하여 상대적으로 높은 상황이다. 따라서 구조물 진동과 이로 인해 발생되는 구조물 기인 소음에 대한 특성 파악과 그 결과를 활용한 저감 방안의 수립이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 기존 슬래브와 진동을 절연시키는 구조형식의 플로팅 슬래브에 대하여 외력에 의한 가진 시 발생하는 구조적 진동과 이로 인한 구조물 기인 소음의 상관성을 고찰하고자 실험과 해석을 수행하였다. 표준형 및 플로팅 슬래브를 제작하여 가진함으로써 진동응답과 소음을 계측하였고, 수치해석, 유한요소법과 SEA 기법을 활용하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다, 실험 및 해석을 통하여 슬래브의 동적 구조적 특성, 구조물 진동과 소음의 상관성, 플로팅 슬래브의 저감 효과 등에 관한 결과를 도출하였다.

열차 진동 저감을 위한 마찰쐐기형 방진장치의 거동 시험 (A Behavior Test on a Frictional-Wedge-Type Vibration Isolation Device for Vibration Reduction of a Railway Track)

  • 도심지에 건설되는 철도역사, 선로구조물 등 철도시설물의 경우 소음 및 진동 저감 설계의 중요성이 더욱 커지고 있다. 특히 선하역사는 구조물 위에 선로가 놓이게 되므로 철도 진동과 이로 인한 2차 소음을 효과적으로 차단할 수 있는 진동 제어 대책이 더욱 필요한 상황이다. 수직형 방진장치는 열차 운행으로 인한 진동이 직접적으로 전달되는 선하역사 등 철도시설물의 진동 저감에 효과적으로 적용될 수 있으나, 수평형 장치에 비하여 개발이 미진한 상황이다. 이 논문에서는 열차에 의한 진동을 효과적으로 저감하기 위해 개발 중인 마찰쐐기형 방진장치를 소개하고, 동적성능 검증을 위한 시험 결과를 제시하였다. 개발된 방진장치의 성능 검증을 위하여 시제품을 적용한 콘크리트구조물에 대한 강제 가진시험을 수행하였으며, 시험결과를 통해 방진장치의 방진성능 및 동특성을 검증하고 방진장치 개선사항을 검토하였다.

Halbach magnet array 구조를 이용한 철도차량용 구동 전동기의 출력밀도 향상 설계 방법 (Output Density Increasing Design for Railway Vehicle Traction Motor using Halbach Magnet Array Structure)

  • Generally, traction motors for railway vehicles are inferior to that of electric vehicle in terms of output density. Traction motors for railway vehicles are relatively free of spatial constraints than motors electric vehicles, but in terms of whole system efficiency, increasing output density of traction motor is helpful. In this paper, using Halbach magnet array structure, output density of traction motor for 40kW class tram was elevated. This paper introduce detailed design process of the Halbach magnet array structure applied model, and check the affects on output characteristics by parameters like rotor shape, airgap diameter and pole ratio. Also, electrical output characteristics were compared between typical SPMSM model and Halbach magnet array model, which has same output size.

열차 하중조건을 고려한 마찰형 방진장치 성능시험 및 마찰특성 분석 (Analysis of Performance Tests and Friction Characteristics of a Friction Type Isolator Considering Train Load Conditions)

  • 선하역사의 경우 차량-궤도에서 발생하는 하중 및 진동이 직접적으로 전달되는 구조적 한계로 인하여 발생하는 구조체 전달 형태의 진동과 소음레벨이 다른 역사형식 대비 월등히 높음으로 인하여 역사 내 상업 및 업무시설 이용객과 종사자들의 불편과 민원이 증가하고 있다. 선하역사에 발생하는 소음 진동을 저감하기 위한 대책중 하나로 알려진 플로팅 궤도의 경우 궤도 하부에 고무 마운트나 패드 요소를 적용한 장치가 주로 설치되어 댐퍼 역할을 한다. 이러한 장치의 경우, 열차 운행 시 발생하는 비선형 하중에 대하여 정확한 강성 및 감쇠비를 설계하기 어렵다는 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 플로팅 궤도에 적용 가능하며 정확한 강성 설계가 가능한 마찰 쐐기형 방진장치를 소개한다. 또한, 방진장치 강성 설계값과 시험값을 비교 분석하고 마찰 쐐기형 블록 배치에 따른 감쇠비를 열차 하중조건에 따라 도출하였다. 방진장치의 성능시험은 DIN45673-7 규정에 의거하여 진행하였으며 시험항목인 정적 및 동적하중 시험을 모두 포함한다. 성능시험 하중조건은 DIN 규정에 따라 열차 및 궤도 중량을 고려하여 적용하였으며 수직 하중 및 수평 하중에 대한 시험을 진행하여 방진장치 적용에 따른 궤도의 구조안전성을 확보한다. 더불어, 하중재하속도에 따른 마찰재의 마찰계수 변화 양상을 확인함으로서 다양한 하중재하속도 조건에 대한 마찰쐐기형 방진장치의 진동저감 성능을 확인한다.
