초등학생의 건강생활실천정도에 영향을 미치는 사회 경제적 요인 (Health Behavior and Health Knowledge of Elementary School Student Related to Parent's Socio-Economic Status)

  • Purpose: This study explores the relationship between the health behavior and knowledge of elementary school students and the socio-economic status of their parents. Methods: A self-administrated questionnaire was provided to 238 students and their parents living within Seoul metropolitan area. The questionnaires were administered during December 2003. The relationship betweensocio-economic status, health behavior (19 items) and health knowledge (15 items) were analyzed using correlation, t-test and one-way ANOVA. Multiple regression analyses were also performed in order to investigate the relationship between health behavior and socio-economic status. Results: The results of multiple regression demonstrated that the health behavior of children living in apartments was 2.29 higher ($\beta$=2.29) than those not living in apartments. Health behavior scores among students with highly educated mothers were 0.42 higher ($\beta$=0.42) than those for students with relatively uneducated mothers. These numbers represent statistically significant values. Conclusion: Since health behavior appears to be directly proportional to socio-economic status ofthe parent, active intervention may be required in order to improve the health behavior of children with poorly educated mothers and who live in independent or multi-household houses.

한국과 중국 학령기 아동의 스트레스, 자아존중감과 아동이 지각한 부모의 양육태도 비교 (Comparisons of Stress, Self-esteem and Perception of Parents' Nurturing Attitudes in School-age Children between Korea and China)

  • Purpose: This study compared stress, self-esteem and perception of parents' nurturing attitudes perceived by school-age children between Korea and China in order to supply information for health promotion of the children. Methods: The subjects of the study consisted of 287 elementary students in Korea, and 185 elementary students in China. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, $x^2$ test, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and correlation analysis. Results: The comparisons showed that Chinese children reported higher stress than that of Korean children. The Korean children perceived more receptive, more self regulative, and less accomplishment pressure about their parents' nurturing attitudes compared to the Chinese children. Correlation analysis showed significant relationships among total stress, self-esteem and the perception of parents' nurturing attitude in Korean and Chinese children. Conclusion: From the results of this study in order to promote the health of school-age children, it is necessary to develop a program which helps School-age Children reduce stress and increase self-esteem.

아동과 청소년의 수치심과 부모와의 의사소통이 또래압력에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Children's Shame and Communication with Their Parents on Peer Pressure)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the interaction and effects of shame and parent-child communication on children and early adolescents' peer pressure. The subjects of this study were 359 children and early adolescents from 5th grade in elementary school to 2nd grade in middle school (187 boys, and 172 girls) in Daejeon city. The results of this research indicated that gender and age played a significant role on the effects of shame and parent-child communication on peer pressure. Open communication with mothers showed a positive relationship with boys' peer pressure, whereas open communication with father showed a negative relationship with boys' peer pressure. The interaction effects of shame and open-communication with fathers and mothers worked differently on peer pressure across gender and age. Interaction effects of shame and open communication with fathers and mothers were significant for boys, but not for girls. Interaction effect of shame and open communication with mothers was significant for children and adolescents.

  • Purpose : This study was to performed to investigate on the knowledge, atitues of Parents toward the use of food materials at school fod service and to provide schol mea l management with basic data to improvement of food purchasing guideline Methods rents who have children atending in elementary school or midle, high schol. The questionnaires we re administered from July to September, 2003. For the statistical analysis, SPS(12.0) was used to conduct th e descriptive analysis.Results : The results were as folows: seventy percent of the parents important. 'nutrition' and 'education' was next. Most parents wanted using food products produced in Korea for the safe and students' health. But 60% said it could not purcha se because of expensive price. About consuming regional agricultural products for school food service, 90% of parent welcomed.Conclusion quality and purchasing criteria ned to be developed for helping parent to do fod inspection. the parent should improve their knowledges on the food quality stadards. This result sugests that efective fod supply system in school food service of central goverment and autonomy also should be prepared.

건강가정지원센터 내 한부모가정 관련 사업 현황과 개선방향에 관한 연구 (A Study of Programs for Single-parent Families in a Family Support Centers)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the healthy family education, healthy family counseling, a healthy family culture, and healthy families integrated programs for single parent families in family support centers, The data collected came from 59 family support centers located in Seoul and Kyunggi-Do, Korea. Subjects included both single parents and their children. The children were of elementary school age. The types of programs were education, counseling, culture, and integrated program. Education programs were process separately for the parents and for the children. Counseling programs were mostly group-type program that aimed at improving the parent-children relationship. The contents included sections on anger management, reducing stress, enriching self-esteem. The culture programs involved experiences, camps that included cooking, watching movies, similar activities. Integrated programs involved respite support, rearing support, mentor-mentee partnerships, and the formation of self-help groups.

일지역 초등학교 학부모의 학교보건사업에 대한 기대 (Expectation about school health program of primary school parents in a region)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the expectation about school health program of primary school parents as an important variable for growth of school health program fore area locked primary school parents 631 by self-administered questionnaire between June 20 and September 29, 2001 The results were as follows 1. General characteristic of the Subjects Age rates of the subjects were 45.5% on 35~39 years old and 34.7% over 40 years old. Economic status were middle level 86%, participation rates of school health education for parent were 16.8%, recognition rates on significance of school health education were 89.9%. 2. Health knowledge of parents The mean score on health knowledge of the subjects was 6.8 from a total of 10. there was a statistically significant difference with regard to health knowledge among the 7school(F=3.46, p=.016). 3. Health behavior of parents The mean score on health behaviors of the subjects was 77.3 from a total of 100. there was no statistically difference in health behavior among the school. 4. The expectation about school health program of the parents The mean score on the expectation about school health program of the subjects was 51.1 from a total of 140. there was a statistically significant difference with regard to the expe ctation about school health program among the school(F=3.75, p=.010). 5. Health behaviors and the expectation about school health program from sociod emogr aphic Backgrounds of the Subjects. In the backgrounds of the subjects, the score on health behavior was higher the mothers(t=2.89,p=.004), the upper class(F=7.38, p=.000), the higher participation level of school health education of parent(F=7.38, p=.000) and the higher recognition level on significance of school health education of parent(F=9.94, p=.000). The score on the expectation about school health program was higher the lower recognition level on significance of school, health education of parent and on the expectation about health screening & preventive services was significant difference by age. however, the difference was not significant in the others.

부모별거 초등학생의 별거 경험 및 양육요인에 따른 사회·정서적 적응력 연구 -연변 조선족 아동과 한국 아동의 비교- (Separation from Parents : Socio-Emotional Adjustment of Korean-Chinese Elementary School Children in Yanbian - Comparison with Korean Children-)

  • In this comparison of the relative effects of children's separation from their parents, socio-emotional adjustment was assessed by emotional and behavioral problems and emotional intelligence. Subjects were 502 elementary school children separated from their parents(162 in Yanbian and 340 in Korea) and their caregivers. Data analysis was by frequency, t-test, and multiple regression controlled by gender and grade in school. Caregivers living with children and their parenting efficacy were significant variables for the development of socio-emotional adjustment in Korean-Chinese children in Yanbian, but reasons for parent-child separation, caregivers' psychological and behavioral characteristics, and SES were significant variables for children in Korea. Implications are that regional differences should be considered in understanding and supporting the development of children's socio-emotional adjustment.

초등학교 6학년 여학생 월경군과 비월경군의 비만도와 성지식 (Obesity Rate and Sexual Knowledge in Menarche and Non-Menarche among 6th Grade Elementary School Girls)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of obesity and sexual knowledge between age-matched 168 postmenarcheal and 168 premenatcheal girls among 6th grade elementary school girls in Busan. Anthropometric measurements were taken for height and body weight of subjects for obesity and a questionnaire for sexual knowledge representing 5 categories was developed by researcher. For the statistical analysis of the collected data, frequency, Chi-square, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation were performed by SPSS WIN Vesion 12.0 program. These measurements of menarcheal grils were significantly higher than those of non-menacheal girls in height, body weight, BMI and obesity level. The sexual knowledge was low, expecially they didn't know well about sexual disease and contraception. There was no significant difference between two groups, but there was significant difference among obesity level, obesity group had sexual knowledge than others. And there were significant positive relations between the menarche and the obesity. The most important findings in the study showed that is needed the systemic and concrete sexual education in home, school and community, and especially by the professionals in the sex education field.

유아의 놀이 권리에 대한 부모의 인식과 실행에 관한 연구 (The Study on Parents' Perceptions of and Implementation of Children's Right to Play)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to gain basic information for parental education by investigating parent's implementation and perception of children's right to play. Methods: The subjects of this study were 458 parents who have a child in kindergarten or 1st grade of elementary school in J city. The research tool used in this study, the Parent's Perception of and Implementation for Children's Right to Play(PPICRP), was developed by researchers. PPICRP is a 5type rating scale questionnaire which includes the selection of a space for play, play time, play mate, instrument, etc. The data were analyzed by using the SPSS 18.0 program. Results: The results showed that the parent's implementation for children's right to play was lower than the parent's perception of it except for the selection of play instrument. Conclusion/Implications: The results of this study imply that there is a need for parent education which contains concepts and stresses the importance of play, which implement children's right to play. The unexpected result in the play instrument, the excessive organization of the play by adults, and the difference of parent's implementation according to the gender of their children were further discussed.

초등학교 저학년 부모를 위한 자녀성교육프로그램의 개발 및 효과 (Development and Effects of a Children's Sex Education Program for the Parents of Lower Elementary Grade Students)

  • Purpose: This study was done to develop a children's sex education program for the parents of lower elementary grade students and to evaluate its effects on sexual knowledge, gender role attitude, parent efficacy for child's sex education, and marital consistency. Methods: A quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. The participants were 29 couples (58 parents, experimental group=28, control group=30) from G city. The 5-week (5-session) program was developed based on 'A theory of protection: parents as sex educators' and used the case-based small group learning method. Data were collected during July and August 2015. The characteristics of the program developed in the present study were a theoretical-based, client-centered, multi-method. Results: After the intervention, the experimental group showed a significant improvement in sexual knowledge, gender role attitudes, parent efficacy for child's sex education, and marital consistency, compared to the control group. The effect sizes of the program were .64 (knowledge), .65 (gender role attitudes), and .68 (parent efficacy). Conclusion: The results of this study provided implications for the parents as effective sex educator and the role expansion of school health nurses.
