성학대 예방 프로그램이 아동의 성학대 위험 지각에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of a Sexual Abuse Prevention Program on the Children's Perceptions of the Risks of Sexual Abuse)

  • The present study assessed children's perceptions of risk of sexual abuse before and after participation in a sexual abuse prevention program, and investigated the effects of the sexual abuse prevention program on the children's emotional response. The subjects for this study were 135 3rd and 145 6th graders, attending elementary school in Seoul. Instruments were the Sexual Abuse Situational Risk (Jacobs, Hashima, & Kenning, 1995) and the Children's Emotional Response Questionnaire (Garbarino, 1987). The results of this study were that (1) children's perceptions of the risk of sexual abuse by a stranger decreased, relative to those by familiar persons which increased after the program. Especially, 6th graders had higher perceptions of the likelihood of abuse by familiar persons than 3rd graders. Girls had higher perceptions of risk than boys. (2) Children perceived adults as more dangerous than adolescents both before-and after-program. (3) Children's perceptions of the risk of sexual abuse in public settings decreased, relative to perceptions of risk in private settings which increased after the program. Girls had higher perceptions of the liklihood of abuse in private settings than boys; no significant difference was found by grade. (4) Children's emotional response did not reveal a significant change between pretest and posttests.

스크래치를 이용한 초등학교 컴퓨터 교육과정 설계 (Design of Computer Education Curriculum for Elementary Schools using Scratch Educational Programming Language)

  • 프로그래밍 교육은 문제 해결 능력과 논리적 사고력 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 끼친다. 하지만 초등학교에서의 프로그래밍 교육은 아직 활성화되고 있지 않다. 그 원인 가운데 하나는 체계적인 교육과정의 부재이다. 본 논문에서는 교육용 프로그래밍 언어인 스크래치를 사용하여 초 중등학교 정보통신기술 교육 운영지침 개정안의 '정보처리의 이해' 영역의 교육과정을 설계하였다. 학습자의 인지부담을 최소화하기 위하여 1~2학년은 4차시, 3~4학년은 5차시, 5~6학년은 6차시 분량으로 교수 학습 지도안을 작성하여 제시했다. 전문가 집단을 선정하여 제시한 교육과정과 교수 학습 지도안을 검증하였다. 검증 결과 학습 대상, 교육요소, 학습내용, 학습량, 교수학습지도안의 적정성 등 거의 모든 영역에서 적절하다는 결론을 얻었다. 본 논문에서 설계한 교육과정을 실제 수업에 적용한다면 초등학교 프로그래밍 교육을 효율적으로 수행할 수 있을 것이며, 더 나아가 초등학생들의 논리적 사고력, 문제해결력, 창의력, 정보처리능력 등을 신장시킬 수 있을 것이다.

  • 컴퓨팅 기술의 발전으로 빅 데이터 시대가 도래하게 되어 우리는 주변의 수많은 데이터와 생활하고 있다. 초등학생들도 예외는 아니다. 따라서 초등학교부터 데이터 처리하는 것을 학습하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 초등학생들은직관적인 사고를 하기 때문에 데이터를 바로 그림으로 표현하는 데이터 시각화가 중요한 학습 요소이다. 본 연구에서는 초등학생들이 생활 속의 데이터를 시각화해 봄으로써 이것이 정보 처리 역량에 얼마나 효과적인지를 연구한다. 초등학교 3학년 학생들에게 데이터 시각화 도구를 이용하여 8차시의 데이터를 조직화하고, 시각화한 후에, 상호작용의 절차를 체험하는 것으로 데이터 시각화 프로그램을 개발하였다. 개발한 프로그램을 7개 학급에 186명의 학생들에게 적용하고 수업 전과 수업 후 지식정보처리 역량 요소를 평가하였다. 사전·사후 검사를 실시한 결과 지식정보처리 역량에 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 따라서 본 연구에서 개발한 데이터 시각화 프로그램은 효과가 있다.

초등학생의 연음규칙 인식수준 비교 (Comparison of the Awareness Level of the Prolonged Sound Rules in Elementary School Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness level of the prolonged sound rules in elementary school students. The participants in this study were 148 elementary school students in grades 1 through 6. Their awareness level of the prolonged sound rules was evaluated on reading tasks composed of 40 words and sentences. An one-way ANOVA followed by Scheffe hoc tests showed the showed the statistically significant difference between the groups for the awareness level of prolonged sound rules. The younger the children, the larger differences in the awareness of prolonged sound rules. The awareness might affect their cognitive development and a systematic instruction may be helpful especially in lower graders. In conclusion, the findings of this study showed significant differences in the awareness level of the prolonged sound rules at both words and sentences level. It was also found that as the age of children increases, the awareness level of the prolonged sound rules tends to increase which appeared to be completed by the 3rd grade.

  • 본 연구에서는 STEAM 교육의 이론적 배경과 국내 외 연구 사례를 살펴보고 스크래치를 활용한 STEAM 교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. 그리고 이 프로그램을 초등학교 6학년 과학 3단원 [에너지와 도구]와 4단원 [연소와 소화]를 중심으로 적용해 보았다. 그 결과 이 프로그램에 따라 활동한 학생들의 창의성 지수와 과학에 대한 긍정적 태도가 비교집단과 비교하여 유의미한 차이를 보이며 증가하였다. 연구결과 스크래치를 활용한 STEAM 교육 프로그램이 창의성을 증진시키며 과학에 관련된 정의적 영역인 과학 교육에 대한 인식, 흥미, 과학적 태도에 긍정적인 변화를 가져온다는 것을 확인하였다.

3, 4학년 '과학이야기'에 대한 초등학생들의 인식 조사 (Investigation of Pupils' Views on the 'Science Story' in the Third and Fourth Graders' Science Textbooks)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate how $3^{rd}$ and $4^{th}$ grade elementary students view about 'Science story', which is recently inserted in the new version of science text books. For the study, four hundred $4^{th}$ graders at four schools were considered in the area of Cheonan city, Chungnam province. The degree of student's preference, preferable science topics from the 'Science story', the reason for their preference, and their attitudes toward general science were examined. The study was initiated after student's reading of the 'Science story' (Advanced science, Science in the life, Science in the history, and Future science directions). The student attitudes toward general science were examined using questionnaire survey prior to others. The results of the study are summarized: First, the students who have more interests and affirmative attitudes about science subjects with high scores are more favored about 'Science story'. Second, generally the students prefer reading topics in the order of 1) Science in the life, 2) Advanced science, 3) Science in the history, and 4) Future science directions. However the order was flexible depending on student's gender, preference, and attitudes. Third, the student's interests about 'Science story' was mostly raised from the new scientific topics in the book. And it was also raised partly from their personal interests and usefulness for science learning. Based on the results of our study, we included some suggestions for the improved 'Science story' and their utilizations.

에너지 캠페인 환경교육이 초등학생의 환경친화적 태도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Energy Campaign Environmental Education on Pro-Environmental Attitudes of Elementary School Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of the energy campaign environmental education of 3rd graders in elementary school in Seoul. The students were divided into an experiment group and a control group. A reconstructed questionnaire through Kim(2005) and Lee(2005)'s test tool was used to survey the effects of applying the energy campaign environmental education program. The i-STATistics program was used to analyze the results. The major results of this study are as follows. First, the researcher was able to develop and apply teaching-learning model for energy campaign environmental education by extracting and recreating the energy education-related contents from the lower grades(1, 2, 3 grade) in 2007 elementary school curriculum. Second, this program had a positive effect on pro-environmental altitudes of elementary school students. Third, this program had a positive correlation among the 3 subdomains of cognitive, affective and behavioral. Fourth, according to qualitative analysis, the students appear to be more concerned in the overall environmental problems containing energy problem and showed a higher will to act while participating in the environmental education through energy campaign program. In conclusion, this program is more directly effective than lectures on energy following the curriculum to improve student's pro-environmental altitudes. Therefore, more intensive research on teaching and learning activities should be highly considered.

인지적 도구로서의 사칙계산기 활용 (Utilizing Calculators as Cognitive Tool in the Elementary School Mathematics)

  • 이 논문에서는 계산기에 대하여 복잡한 계산 수행 뿐 아니라 수학적 개념, 원리, 법칙을 탐구할 수 있는 인지적 학습 도구로서의 가능성을 탐구하였다. 계산기가 인지적 공학 도구이며 교수-학습 도구임을 밝혔으며, 국내외의 수학교육과정에서의 계산기 활용 실태를 살펴보았다. 실제적으로 인지적 학습 도구로서의 계산기의 역할을 관찰하기 위하여, 초등학교 수학에서 계산기 활동 자료를 개발하고 이를 3학년, 5학년 학생들에게 적용한 실험 활동을 실시하였다. 활동 결과, 사칙계산기가 지필환경에서는 가능하지 않은 패턴 인식을 통한 귀납, 추론, 원리 탐구를 용이하게 한다는 것을 확인하였다. 이에 비추어 지필환경에서 이루어지는 기존 교과서의 제시 방식에 대안이 될 수 있는 발견적 방식을 대비하여 논의하였다.

  • This study aimed to investigate the effect of science class using multiple intelligence on science learning motivation, academic achievement and science process skill of elementary student. The number of participants were 98, 4 classes of $3^{rd}$ graders in G elementary school in B city. The experimental group, 2 classes including 49 participants, had science classes using multiple intelligence while the comparative group, 2 classes including 49 participants, took ordinary teacher-driven lessons using teacher's guidebook. Pre and post tests were done before and after executing lessons to assess the changing in each group's science learning motivation, academic achievement and science process skill. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: First, the pre and post test results of science learning motivation revealed that the experimental group had higher improvement compared to the comparative group and the difference was meaningful. Second, the post test results of the science academic achievement showed that the experimental group had higher average value compared to the comparative group and the difference was meaningful. Third, the pre and post test results of basic science process skill showed that the experimental group had higher average value compared to the comparative group and the difference was meaningful, especially in inference and prediction elements.

편식개선을 위한 초등학생 영양교육 교재 개발 및 교육 효과 - 초등학교 2, 3학년 중심으로 - (Development and Educational Effect of Nutrition Education Workbook for Improvement of Child Picky Eaters - Focused on 2nd and 3rd Graders -)

  • This study was conducted to develop a nutrition education workbook to improve picky eating in children and to evaluate the effect of nutrition education using this developed workbook. The developed workbook focused on 2nd and 3rd grade students and consisted of five units. The contents included: multi-grain, vegetables (2 units), fish, and milk. The activities, including observation, and learning the roles and names of the foods, were developed mainly to increase motivation for eating a balanced diet. This workbook was developed from April to December 2008, and was applied at 15 elementary schools containing 1,674 students from April to September 2009 in Changwon City, Korea. We evaluated changes in knowledge before and after education on nutrition, eating behavior, dietary habits, and educational activities using self-administered questionnaires. The children demonstrated significant improvements in nutritional knowledge (P<0.001), eating behavior (P<0.001), and dietary habits (P<0.001). Most of the children answered that the education program was helpful and exciting. Based on these results, we believe that the developed workbook is suitable for children picky eaters, and hope it will be used in the field of child nutrition education.
