보안기능을 강화한 뇌파 분석 서버시스템 (The Brainwave Analyzer of Server System Applied Security Functions)

  • 뇌파 정보는 분자 단계에서 행동 및 인지 단계에 이르기까지 생성된 정보의 양이 방대하며, 개인의 고유한 프라이버시영역을 나타내는 중요한 정보로 활용되고 있다. 이에, 뇌파정보의 다양한 정보를 통합하고 뇌파정보를 보호할 수 있는 프레임워크를 제시한다. 제안된 시스템은 전자정부 프레임워크 서버 시스템에 보안기능을 강화한 프레임워크로써, 메타데이터를 활용한 의존성 낮은 웹 애플리케이션 서버 시스템이다. 서버 구축을 위해 스프링 플랫폼의 MVC(Model, Vew And Control)프레임워크 웹 기반 환경에 스프링 시큐리티를 적용한다. 본 시스템은 강력한 보안시스템을 탑재한 독립적이고 경량화된 서버시스템으로 분석된 뇌파 정보를 확인할 수 있다. 이로 인해, 뇌파정보의 웹서비스 보안성을 높이고, 뇌파정보의 프라이버시 보호가 가능하다. 또한, 치매환자나 뇌인지 정보가 요구되는 경우 본 연구를 통해 원격의 실시간 확인 및 분석이 가능하다.

Investigation of Visual Perception Under Zen-Meditation Based On Alpha-Dependent F-VEPs

  • Variation of brain dynamics under Zen meditation has been one of our major research interests for years. One issue encountered is the inaccessibility to the actual meditation level or stage as a reference. In this paper, we propose an alternative strategy for investigating the human brain in response to external flash stimuli during Zen meditation course. To secure a consistent condition of the brain dynamics when applying stimulation, we designed a recording of flash visual evoked potentials (F-VEPs) based on a constant background EEG (electroencephalograph) frontal $\alpha-rhythm$ dominating activities that increase significantly during Zen meditation. Thus the flash-light stimulus was to be applied upon emergence of the frontal $\alpha-rhythm$. The alpha-dependent F-VEPs were then employed to inspect the effect of Zen meditation on brain dynamics. Based on the experimental protocol proposed, considerable differences between experimental and control groups were obtained. Our results showed that amplitudes of P1-N2 and N2-P2 on Cz and Fz increased significantly during meditation, contrary to the F-VEPs of control group at rest. We thus suggest that Zen meditation results in acute response on primary visual cortex and the associated parts.

Support Vector Machine 기반 Genetic Algorithm과 Binary PSO를 이용한 최적의 EEG 채널 선택 기법 (Optimal EEG Channel Selection by Genetic Algorithm and Binary PSO based on a Support Vector Machine)

  • BCI (Brain-Computer Interface) is a system that transforms a subject's brain signal related to their intention into a control signal by classifying EEG (electroencephalograph) signals obtained during the imagination of movement of a subject's limbs. The BCI system allows us to control machines such as robot arms or wheelchairs only by imaging limbs. With the exact same experiment environment, activated brain regions of each subjects are totally different. In that case, a simple approach is to use as many channels as possible when measuring brain signals. However the problem is that using many channels also causes other problems. When applying a CSP (Common Spatial Pattern), which is an EEG extraction method, many channels cause an overfitting problem, and in addition there is difficulty using this technique for medical analysis. To overcome these problems, we suggest an optimal channel selection method using a BPSO (Binary Particle Swarm Optimization), BPSO with channel impact factor, and GA. This paper examined optimal selected channels among all channels using three optimization methods and compared the classification accuracy and the number of selected channels between BPSO, BPSO with channel impact factor, and GA by SVM (Support Vector Machine). The result showed that BPSO with channel impact factor selected 2 fewer channels and even improved accuracy by 10.17~11.34% compared with BPSO and GA.

공동주택 커뮤니티시설의 공간별 감성색채배색 이미지에 따른 청소년의 뇌파분석 (An Analysis of Youth EEG based on the Emotional Color Scheme Images by Different Space of Community Facilities)

  • In this study, we sought to find out the effect of different emotional interior images of the community facilities in an apartment complex on a youth brain wave by analyzing an Electroencephalograph (EEG). Based on the frequency of usage, we selected learning facilities, cultural facilities, and sport facilities. For brain stimulation, the visual stimulants with three different emotional words, cheerful, gentle, and elegant, were used based on I.R.I image scale. Overall, total nine different emotional images were used. Based on our findings, we conclude that: first, in order to improve learning concentration of the youth, a learning facility for the youth needs to be designed by skillfully combining the soft and comfortable colors from the gentle image and the murky and dark colors from the elegant image. Second, when designing a cultural facility, it is preferable to consider the elegant image for a calm and comfortable space. Third, a sport facility design needs to preclude dark colors and apply light colors to create a dynamic and lively space. Furthermore, we found out that the youth has established static images of each functionally different facility through their experience and learning. Therefore, it is imperative to plan community facilities in an apartment complex in a way to connect the space function with the emotional characteristics of the youth in order to support and encourage energetic activities and learning of the community youth.

여대생을 대상으로 한 마음챙김기반 마음교양강좌의 효과 연구 (A Study on the Effect of Mind Liberal Arts Course based on Mindfulness for Female University Students)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 마음챙김 기반 마음교양강좌를 적용한 후 마음교양강좌가 여대생의 지각된 스트레스, 마음챙김, 심리적 안녕감 및 뇌파에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 진행하였다. 이를 위해 마음챙김 기반 마음교양강좌를 수강하는 42명의 여대생을 단일군으로 선정하여 8주 동안 주 1회, 회당 50분씩 마음공감 프로그램을 중재로 적용하였다. 중재 전 지각된 스트레스, 마음챙김, 심리적 안녕감 설문지 조사 및 뇌파를 측정하였고, 8주 중재 후 재평가를 실시하였다. 그 결과 지각된 스트레스는 중재 전 1.85점에서 중재 후 1.66점으로 유의하게 감소하였다(t=3.44, p=.001). 마음챙김의 변화는 중재 전 3.10점에서 중재 후 3.19점으로 유의하게 증가하였고(t=-2.78, p=.008), 하위 영역별 분석결과 기술 영역에서 유의하게 증가하였다(t=-3.66, p=.001). 심리적 안녕감의 변화는 중재 전후에 유의한 차이는 없었지만 하위 영역별 분석결과 자율성에서 유의한 차이가 있었다(t=-2.70, p=.010). 또한 뇌파 검사에서는 상대세타파 중 19번 채널, 상대빠른알파파 중 7, 10 채널에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 마음챙김기반 교육과정 개선, 교수법 다양화, 교육환경개선 등을 통한 추가 연구를 제언한다.
