Transparent ITO films were deposited on a polycarbonate substrate with RF magnetron sputtering in a pure argon (Ar) and oxygen ($O_2$) gas atmosphere, and then post deposition electro annealed for 20 minutes in a $4{\times}10^{-1}$ Pa vacuum. Electron bombardment with an accelerating voltage of 100 V increased the substrate temperature to $120^{\circ}C$. XRD analysis of the deposited ITO films did not show any diffraction peaks, while electro annealed films indicated the growth of crystallites on the (211), (222), and (400) planes. The sheet resistance of ITO films decreased from 103 to $82{\Omega}/\square$. The optical transmittance of ITO films in the visible wavelength region increased from 85 to 87%. Observation of the work function demonstrated that the electro-annealing increased the work function of ITO films from 4.4 to 4.6 eV. The electro annealed films demonstrated a larger figure of merit of $3.0{\times}10^{-3}{\Omega}^{-1}$ than that of as deposited films. Therefore, the electro annealed films had better optoelectrical performances than as deposited ITO films.

Electro-Active Paper (EAPap) is attractive for EAP actuator due to its merit in terms of light weight, dry condition, large displacement output, low actuation voltage and low power consumption. The EAPap is based on cellulose paper, and is shown to involve primarily transport of ions in response to an external electric field. This actuating mechanism is similar to conductive polymer based actuators. For performance improvement of EAPap, hybrid actuators are tried. The actuators based on cellulose paper attached conducting polypyrrole, polyaniline and single wall carbon nanotube/polyaniline(emeraldine base) have been achieved by Electro chemical deposition and mechanical deposition of the polymers onto cellulose paper.

This paper gives characterization of substrate and PZT(53/47) thin film deposited by metalorganic decomposition, which is concerned in deposition process and device fabrication process, to fabricate micro electro mechanical system (MEMS) device with piezoelectric material. The PZT thin films deposited by MOD at 700^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes had a polycrystallinity, that is, no substrate dependence, while different interface were developed depending on the bottom electrodes. Such a structural variation could influence on not only the properties of the PZT film but also etching process for fabricating MEMS devices. Therefore the electrode structure is a very important factor in the deposition of the PZT film during etching process by HF acid for MEMS device with piezoelectric material. Piezoelectric coefficients of the PZT films on the different substrates were 40 and 80 pm/V at an applied voltage of 4V. Based in these results, it was possible for deposition of the PZT film by MOD to apply MEMS device fabrication process based on piezoelectricity after selection of proper bottom electrode.

We carried out the experiments on particle deposition onto the cleanroom wall panels. And then we investigated the particle deposition characteristic coefficients for electrostatic voltages and particle size. It was found that there is little difference in characteristics of the particle deposition between the steel panel and the anti-static coating panel. In case of that the particle size is under $1.0{\mu}m$, the particle deposition characteristic coefficient becomes larger as the electrostatic voltage induced to the cleanroom wall panel is increasing. Where in case of that the particle size is over $3.0{\mu}m$, the particle deposition characteristic coefficients do not show any differences with the electrostatic voltages. It is due to that the electrostatic force is the major particle transport mechanism for submicron particles, while the gravitational settling is the major particle transport mechanism for overmicron particles when the electro-static voltages are induced to the cleanroom wall panel.

Electro-deposition of carbon film on silicon substrate in methanol solution was carried out with various current density, solution temperature and electrode spacing between anode and cathode. The carbon films with smooth surface morphology and high electrical resistance were formed when the distance between electrode was relatively wider. The electrical resistance of the carbon films were independent of both current density and solution temperature.
The nanostructural graphene/vanadium oxide (graphene/$V_2O_5$) composite with enhanced capacitance was synthesized by the electro-deposition in 0.5 M $VOSO_4$ solution. The morphology of composites was characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), x-ray diffraction pattern (XRD), and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The oxidation states of the electro-deposited vanadium oxide was found to be $V^{5+}$ and $V^{4+}$. The morphology of the prepared graphene/$V_2O_5$ composite exhibits a netlike nano-structure with $V_2O_5$ nanorods in about 100 nm diameter, which could lead a better contact between electrolyte an electrode. The composite with a deposition time of 4,000 s exhibits the specific capacitance of $854mF/cm^2$ at a scan rate of 20 mV/s and the capacitance retention of 53% after 1000 CV cycles.

Cathodic current on a metal tends to increase the $OH^-$ neighboring to the metal surface, especially during electro-deposition in seawater. The increased pH at metal/seawater interface results in precipitation of brucite crystal structure-$Mg(OH)_2$ as following formula; $Mg^{2+}+2OH^-{\rightarrow}Mg(OH)_2$, that is typical mechanism of the main calcareous deposits-compound in electro deposited coating films. In this study, the effects of anode and current density on deposition rate, composition structure and morphology of the deposited films were systematically investigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and x-ray diffraction(XRD), respectively in order to overcome the problems such as deposition rate and a weak adhesion between deposit film and metal surface. The adhesion and corrosion resistance of the coating films were also evaluated by anodic polarization test. The electro-deposited film formed by using AZ31-Mg anode had the most appropriate physical properties. Weight gain of electro-deposit films increased with increasing cathodic current. Electro-deposit prepared at $5A/cm^2$ current density shows better adhesion than that formed at $8{\sim}10A/cm^2$.
The full-energy peak efficiency for a collimated geometry of a Si (Li) detector has been experimentally determined using the electro-deposition sources. The radioactive sources of $^{51}$ Cr, $^{54}$ Mn, $^{57}$ Co and $^{65}$ Zn nuclides are prepared by the electro-deposition method. The measured efficiency values are corrected for the escape losses due to the K X-rays of silicon and the absorptions in materials related to source-to-detector geometry. The corrected efficiency values have turned out to be nearly constant regardless of photon energy.

In this study, nanoscale Al2O3 ceramic particles were used due its exceptionally high hardness characteristics, chemical stability, and wear resistance properties. These nanoparticles will be used to investigate the optimal process conditions for the electro co-deposition of the Ni-Al2O3 composite coatings. A Watts bath electrolytic solution of a controlled composition along with a fixed agitation speed was used for this study. Whereas the current density, the pH value, temperature and concentration of the nano Al2O3 particles of the electrolyte were designated as the manipulative variables. The experimental design method was based on the orthogonal array to find the optimum processing parameters for the electro co-deposition of Ni-Al2O3 composite coatings. The result of confirmation experimental based on the optimal processing condition through the analysis of variance ; EDX analysis found that the ratio of alumina increased to 8.65 wt.% and subsequently the overall hardness increased to 983 Hv. Specially, alumina were evenly distributed on Nickel matrix and particles were embedded more firmly and finely in Nickel matrix.
