An iterative technique based on orthogonal filters and frequency tracking is proposed to estimate harmonic components in power systems. The technique uses frequency interpolation to estimate fundamental frequency and harmonics when the nominal frequency of the signal is a non-integer value. Due to the number of computations involved during the generation of filter coefficients, an offline computation is suggested. Beneficial features of the proposed technique include fixed sampling rate and fixed data window size. The performance of the proposed technique is examined by simulating different power system operating conditions and evaluating the data from these simulations. A technique based on Fast Fourier Transform is also used to estimate the harmonic components for all the simulated signals. These estimates are compared with those obtained from the proposed technique. Results show that the proposed technique can converge to the accurate fundamental frequency and therefore, provide accurate harmonic components even when the fundamental frequency is not equal to the nominal frequency.

This paper presents soft switching zero voltage switching high frequency inverter for rare gas fluorescent lamp using dielectric-barrier discharge phenomenon. The simple high-frequency inverter can completely achieve stable zero voltage soft switching (ZVS) commutation for wide its output power regulation ranges and load variations under its constant high frequency pulse density modulation (PDM) scheme. Its transient and steady state operating principle is originally described and discussed for a constant high-frequency PDM control strategy under a stable ZVS operation commutation, together with its output effective power regulation characteristics-based on the high frequency PDM strategy. The experimental operating performances of this high frequency Inverter are illustrated as compared with computer simulation results and experimental ones. Its light dimming characteristics due to power regulation scheme are evaluated and discussed on the basis of simulation and experimental results. The feasible effectiveness of this high frequency inverter appliance implemented here is proven from the practical point of view.

Induction-heated system is innovative system which applied IH(Induction Heating) magnetic induction heating generated from induction-heated metallic package and high-frequency power circuit technique for thermal converse technique. In this occurs not burning, so that the working environment and deterioration of products can be improved. This technique is used high frequency inverter. By using high frequency inverter high frequency in the range of kHz can be made with conventional alternative current. In this contribution IGBT module is used for high frequency inverter. In this paper are discussed analysis of characteristics according to the each frequency and produced Flat plate induction heating system using 1.5kW-class half-bridge resonant inverter. In addition, operating characteristics of the system to changes in the distance between the coil and the heater, applications of system are also discussed.
An internet-based, real-time GPS synchronized wide-area power system frequency monitoring network(FNET) has been monitoring wide-area power system frequency in continuous time in the United States. This paper analyzes the FNET measurement to the verified disturbances in the US eastern interconnected power system and simulates it using the dynamic system model. By comparing the frequency measurements with its simulation results to the same disturbances in detail, this paper finds that the sequence of monitoring points to detect the frequency fluctuation caused by the disturbances is matched well in the measured data and the simulation results. The similarity comparison index is also proposed to quantify the similarity of the compared cases. The dynamic model based simulation result is expected to compensate for the lack of FNET measurement in its applications.

The following conclusions were obtained after analyzing the data transmission characteristics using two frequencies and studying a system that selects data with a good reception frequency as a priority data. Data transmission and reception using two frequencies were measured at -41 to -51 dBm when the frequency was normal, and data transmitted at 900 MHz was selected as priority data. When priority frequency failure occurred, the frequency reception data of the next rank was automatically adopted, and when the frequency of the next rank was disturbed, the priority frequency search was performed again. The above results show that the use of two frequencies enables more stable data transmission and transmission, and further studies should be continued to expand the transmission and reception distances.
This paper presents a new ZCS-PWM high frequency inverter. Zero current switching operation is achieved in the whole load range by using a simple auxiliary reverse blocking switch in parallel with series resonant capacitor. Dual duty cycle control scheme is used to provide a wide range of high frequency AC output power regulation that is important in many high frequency inverter applications. It found that a complete soft switching operation can be achieved even for low power setting ranges by introducing high-frequency dual duty cycle control scheme. The proposed high frequency inverter is more suitable for consumer induction heating(IH) applications. The operation and control principle of the proposed high frequency inverter are described and verified through simulated results.
Ear-piercing high-frequency noise from electromagnetic vibrations in motors has become unacceptable in sensitive environments, due to the application of pulse width modulation (PWM) and in consideration of switching losses. This paper proposed a synchronous periodic frequency modulation (SPFM) method based on the interleaving technique for paralleled three-phase voltage source inverters (VSIs) to eliminate PWM vibration noise. The proposed SPFM technique is able to effectively remove unpleasant high-frequency vibration noise as well as acoustic noise more effectively than the conventional periodic carrier frequency modulation (PCFM) and interleaving technique. It completely eliminates the vibration noise near odd-order carrier frequencies and reduces the PWM vibration noise near even-order carrier frequencies depending on the switching frequency variation range. Furthermore, the SPFM method is simple to implement and does not employ additional circuits in the drive system. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method has been confirmed by detailed experimental results.

Electrical tree structure is one of the most important influencing factors for electrical treeing characteristics in polymers. In this paper, we focused on the structure characteristics of electrical treeing in epoxy resins (original) insulation under different high-frequency voltages (60, 500, 1000Hz). Effects of voltage frequency on the ac electrical treeing phenomena in an epoxy resins were carried out in needle-plate electrode arrangement. To measure the treeing initiation and propagation, and the breakdown rate, constant AC of 10 kV with three different voltage frequencies (60, 500 and 1,000 Hz) was applied to the specimen in needle-plate electrode specimen at $30^{\circ}C$ of insulating oil bath. At 60 Hz, the treeing initiation time was 360 min and the propagation rate was $6.85{\times}10^{-4}mm/min$, and the morphology was dense branch type. As the voltage frequency increased, the treeing initiation time decreased and the propagation rate increased. At 1,000 Hz, the treeing initiation time was 0 min and the propagation rate was $7.81{\times}10^{-2}mm/min$, and the morphology was dense bush type.

This research presents a new active auxiliary resonant snubber with for induction heating PWM high frequency inverter solving the problem of induction heating PWM high frequency inverter circuit which is using widely in the practical application of an induction heating apparatus, the soft switching operation and power control are impossible when the lowest power supply in the active auxiliary resonant snubber with for induction heating PWM high frequency inverter. The inverter circuit which is attempted by the on-off operation of a switch has the effect of reducing the power loss due to soft switching and high frequency switching. This confirms that power regulation is possible on a continuous basis from 0.25[kW] to 2.84[kW] where the duty factor(D) changes from 0.08 to 0.3 under zero current switching which operates by an asymmetrical pulse width modulating control. The power conversion efficiency is 95[%]. Due to these results, the active auxiliary resonant snubber for an induction heating PWM high frequency inverter is considered effective as a source of induction heating.

In this paper, we compared the performances of the Right Handed Transmission Line (RHTL) and the Left Handed Transmission Line (LHTL) phase shifters as a frequency translator. Unlike other phase shifters, both phase shifters show a $0^{\circ}-360^{\circ}$ phase variation for a broadband frequency and compact in size which are ideal to use as a frequency translator. For the performance comparison, we fabricated both a RHTL and a LHTL phase shifter to cover 1.5 GHz - 2.4 GHz range with the whole $360^{\circ}$ phase variation. For the frequency range, a LHTL based frequency translator showed a much better performance whose Spurious Free Dynamic Range (SFDR) is 4dB - 17dB higher than the RHTL based frequency translator when the sawtooth modulation freqncy is 11 kHz. This is due to the linear phase-voltage variation of LHTL phase shifter. Furthermore, the LHTL phase shifter shows a less insertion loss and a insertion loss variation than the RHTL phase shifter. Overall, the LHTL based frequency translator outperformed RHTL based freqency translator.
