  • In this paper, we introduced a LIF measurement method and summarized the theoretical side. When an altered wavelength of laser and electric power, lamp applied electric power, we measured the relative density of the metastable state in mercury after observing a laser induced fluorescence signal of 404.8nm and 546.2nm, and confirmed the horizontal distribution of plasma density in the discharge lamp. Due to this generation, the extinction of atoms in a metastable state occurred through collision, ionization, and excitation between plasma particles. The density and distribution of the metastable state depended on the energy and density of plasma particles, intensely This highlights the importance of measuring density distribution in plasma electric discharge mechanism study The results confirmed the resonance phenomenon regarding the energy level of atoms along a wavelength change, and also confirmed that the largest fluorescent signal in 436nm, and that the density of atoms in 546.2nm ($6^3S_1 {\to} 6^3P_2$ ) were larger than 404.8nm ($6^3S_1 {\to} 6^3P_1$). According to the increase of lamp applied electric power, plasma density increased, too. When increased with laser electric power, the LIF signal reached a saturation state in more than 2.6mJ. When partial plasma density distribution along a horizontal axis was measured using the laser induced fluorescence method, the density decreased by recombination away from the center.

  • Mobile social network is becoming more and more popular with respect to the development and popularity of mobile devices and interpersonal sociality. As the amount of social data increases in a great deal and cloud computing techniques become developed, the architecture of mobile social network is evolved into cloud-based that mobile clients send data to the cloud and make data accessible from clients. The data in the cloud should be stored in a secure fashion to protect user privacy and restrict data sharing defined by users. Ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption (CP-ABE) is currently considered to be a promising security solution for cloud-based mobile social network to encrypt the sensitive data. However, its ciphertext size and decryption time grow linearly with the attribute numbers in the access structure. In order to reduce the computing overhead held by the mobile devices, in this paper we propose a new Outsourcing decryption and Match-then-decrypt CP-ABE algorithm (OM-CP-ABE) which firstly outsources the computation-intensive bilinear pairing operations to a proxy, and secondly performs the decryption test on the attributes set matching access policy in ciphertexts. The experimental performance assessments show the security strength and efficiency of the proposed solution in terms of computation, communication, and storage. Also, our construction is proven to be replayable choosen-ciphertext attacks (RCCA) secure based on the decisional bilinear Diffie-Hellman (DBDH) assumption in the standard model.

  • This paper presents the linear model of the measurement system with Phasor Measurement Units (PMU's) and the parallel processing technique to determinate state vectors of a power system. The conventional model of the PMU measurement system is in a dilemma that it is not applicable to optimal PMU placements and it needs more PMU to apply this model. In order to improve this defect, in this paper, the extended linear model which adaptable to optimal PMU placements considering the feature of zero injection bus is proposed. Because the proposed model is expressed as over-determined measurement equation, the efficient algorithm is needed. This paper proposed the partitioning scheme and the process algorithm for parallel determinating state vectors of a power system efficiently. The performance of the proposed linear model and the parallel processing algorithm is evaluated with IEEE sample systems.

  • We use three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic simulations to investigate how the dynamic state of emerging magnetic field is related to the twist of field lines. Emergence of magnetic field is considered as one of the key physical process producing solar activity such as flares, jets, and coronal mass ejections. To understand these activities we have to know dynamic nature and electric current structure provided by emerging magnetic field. To demonstrate dynamic nature of field lines, we focus on the factors such as curvature of magnetic field line and scale height of magnetic field strength. These factors show that strong twist case forms two-part structure in which the central part is close to a force-free state while the outer marginal part is in a fairly dynamic state. For weak twist case, it still shows two-part structure but the tendency becomes weaker than strong twist case. We discuss how the curvature distribution affects the dynamic nature of emerging magnetic field. We also investigate electric current distribution provided by emerging field lines to show a possible relation between electric current structure and sigmoid observed in a preflare phase.

  • In this paper, a hardware-in-the-loop simulation platform for MMCs is established, which connects a real time digital simulator (RTDS) and a designed MMC controller with optical fiber. In this platform, the converter valves are simulated with a small time step of 2.5 microsecond in the RTDS, and multicore technology is implemented for the controller so that the parallel valve control is distributed between different cores. Therefore, the designed controller can satisfy the requirements of real-time control. The functions of the designed platform and the rationality for the designed controller are verified through experimental tests. The results show that different modulation modes and various control strategies can be implemented in the simulation platform and that each control objective can been tracked accurately and with a fast dynamic response.

  • Recently, The TCN(Train Communication Network} as the distributed control systems for electric vehicles, which is the international standard of the intra vehicle communication, actively recognizes variations and supports reconfiguration of the train network when a vehicle is separated or recombined. The technique of reconfiguration to take variety and interoperability of a vehicle constitution is used when the vehicle constitution is changed. At the time, each node making up vehicle network shares the information about the variation of vehicle constitutions and the state of nodes. In the hierarchical TCN structure, an exchange of data becomes available as a work to transmit information between components is performed at the node playing a role of gateway. This paper proposes a protocol to transmit the information of the train reconfiguration. The protocol gives an application to renew a list for transmitting information and to perform the transmission that can guarantee periodic and non-periodic data transmission between nodes when the network nodes changed by a variation of the network state are reconfigured. If use this protocol, can use functions that are offered in the electric railcar at the same time that composition of vehicles is completed without delay. And when driver of the electric railcar inspect before running of vehicles, can confirm state of vehicles visually through monitor in driver's room.

  • In the Electric Vehicle(EV) driving system, the Battery Management System(BMS) is very important and an essential equipment. Particularly, BMS monitors the State of Charge(SOC), voltage, current, and temperature of the battery modules when Electric Vehicle is in the state of motoring or charging. Major roles of BMS are like these the first, estimation of State of Charge(SOC), the second, detection of the unbalance of the voltage between battery modules, the third, control of the available limit of the voltage and temperature of batteries by monitoring the batteries status during motoring or charging. In this research, We have focused on estimating SOC of battery according to the status of Electric Vehicle and the BMS operation algorithm. The result for algorithm of SOC estimation is presented. It have been modified, compensated, and verified by means of the experiment.

  • This paper presents a study performed to investigate the steady-state operational strategies of UPFCs in the Jeollanam-Do system in Korea. The objective of the study was to determine the UPFC operating points under normal and contingency conditions. The study consists of developing load flow models to simulate different load levels with and without UPFCs in the system, assessing the effectiveness of UPFCs by contingency analysis, and introducing optimal corrective actions for removing voltage problems caused by contingencies. The paper describes analytical tools, models and approach. It also includes analysis and discussion of the study results. The paper contributes to the area of transmission operational studies with FACTS applications.

  • Insulation of valve-side windings in converter transformer withstands pulsating voltages, which will produce more serious insulation problems. In this paper, the electric breakdown experiments of oil-paper insulation specimens were executed at pulsating voltages and different temperatures. Experiment and analysis results showed that the breakdown voltage decreased with increasing temperature under pulsating voltage. The influence of temperature proves to be more significant once the temperature exceeds a limitation threshold. A fitting formula between breakdown voltage and the temperature was reported. Finally, in order to clearly understand the breakdown properties under pulsating voltage, the electric field distribution and space charge behavior under pulsating voltage at different temperature were discussed.
