자기애자의 유지 관리를 위한 CNN 기법을 이용한 이미지 분석 (Image Analysis by CNN Technique for Maintenance of Porcelain Insulator)

  • This study examines the feasibility of the image deep learning method using convolution neural networks (CNNs) to maintain a porcelain insulator. Data augmentation is performed to prevent over-fitting, and the classification performance is evaluated by training the age, material, region, and pollution level of the insulator using image data in which the background and labelling are removed. Based on the results, it was difficult to predict the age, but it was possible to classify 76% of the materials, 60% of the pollution level, and more than 90% of the regions. From the results of this study, we identified the potential and limitations of the CNN classification for the four groups currently classified. However, it was possible to detect discoloration of the porcelain insulator resulting from physical, chemical, and climatic factors. Based on this, it will be possible to estimate the corrosion of the cap and discoloration of the porcelain caused by environmental deterioration, abnormal voltage, and lightning.

Vibration analysis of boron nitride nanotubes by considering electric field and surface effect

  • In this paper, the vibrations of boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) are investigated by considering the electric field. To consider the size effect at nanoscale dimensions, the surface elasticity theory is exploited. The equations of motion of the BNNTs are obtained by applying Hamilton's principle, and the clamped-guided boundary conditions are also considered. The governing equations and boundary conditions are discretized using the differential quadrature method (DQM), and the natural frequency is obtained by using the eigenvalue problem solution. The results are compared with the molecular dynamic simulation in order to validate the accurate values of the surface effects. In the molecular dynamics (MD) simulation, the potential between boron and nitride atoms is considered as the Tersoff type. The Timoshenko beam model is adopted to model BNNT. The vibrations of two types of zigzag and armchair BNNTs are considered. In the result section, the effects of chirality, surface elasticity modulus, surface residual tension, surface density, electric field, length, and thickness of BNNT on natural frequency are investigated. According to the results, it should be noted that, as an efficient non-classical continuum mechanic approach, the surface elasticity theory can be used in scrutinizing the dynamic behavior of BNNTs.

액상화 재해지도를 이용한 수도권 전력구 매설지반의 지진시 위험도 평가 (Seismic Risk Assessment on Buried Electric Power Tunnels with the Use of Liquefaction Hazard Map in Metropolitan Areas)

  • 본 연구는 수도권 지역의 전력구 매설지반을 대상으로 지진 재현주기 1,000년을 고려한 최대기반암가속도 0.154g로 설정하여 지진시 위험을 평가하였다. 이때, 지진시 위험도 평가는 총 3단계로 진행하였으며 1단계는 대상지역의 지반조사 정보를 기초로 지반분류를 우선 실시한 후, 액상화 발생가능성을 파악할 수 있는 Macro영역 기법인 지반증폭계수를 이용한 액상화 발생가능지수(LPI, Liquefaction Potential Index) 재해지도를 이용하여 후보지를 선정한다. 2단계 위험도 평가는 1단계 평가에서 액상화 발생가능성이 매우 높게 판정된 전력구 주변의 시추주상도를 바탕으로 부지특성을 반영한 지진응답해석을 수행하고 이를 토대로 액상화 발생가능성 지수를 재산정하여 지진시 액상화 위험도를 상세평가 하였다. 3단계는 시추공자료를 기반으로 하는 한계성을 보완하기 위하여 2단계에서 액상화 발생가능성이 높게 평가된 대상 전력구의 현장조사를 실시하여 건설시 보강공법적용, 내진설계적용 및 현장상태 등을 고려하여 최종적으로 액상화 위험도를 평가하였다.

전기영동기법에 의한 점토케이크의 형성과 투수특성 (The characteristics of premeability and formation of clay cake by electrophoresis technique)

  • This study is on sealing leakage holes where are in landfills to make clay cakes with clay particles, which have a negative surface charge using the method of electrophoresis. Generally, electrophoresis is the motion of charged particles in a colloid under the influence of an electric field; particles with a positive charge go to the cathode and negative to the anode. In this study in order to develop the prevention system of leakages of the leachate in landfills, one-dimensional electrophoresis tests were conducted for determining the properties of the motion of the electrophoresis and cutoff using the method of electrophoresis depending on various the effect factors such as types of clays, concentrations of the clays, and applied electric field. In case of the experiments of determining the optimum clays, Na and Ca-Bentonite, Na and Ca-Montmorillonite, which have greater zeta-potential, cation, exchange capacity as well as ability of cutoff, and Micro-cement inducing cementation were chosen and then the effect of those clays was investigated. Moreover, the properties of the motion and settling of the clays were investigated following electric field varied from 0 to 1V/cm at different concentration of the clays in order to determine both the properties of the motion of the clays and the efficiency of electric field when applying different direct current. Ultimately, the ability of cutoff was examined through measuring the permeability of the clay cakes derived from the one-dimensional electrophoresis tests.

  • Since Wertheimer and Leeper reported possible adverse health effects of magnetic field in 1979, worldwide researches on this issue have been conducted. More recently, the U.S. Congress instructed the NIEHS (National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences), NIH (National Institute of Health) and DOE (Department of Energy) to direct and manage EMF RAPID (Electric and Magnetic Fields Research and Public Information Dissemination) program aimed at providing scientific evidence to clarify the potential for health risks from exposure to extremely low frequency electric and magnetic fields(ELF-EMF). Although they concluded that the scientific evidence suggesting adverse health risks of ELF-EMF is weak, the exposure to ELF-EMF cannot be recognized as entirely safe. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to describe magnetic field 3-D calculation and to evluate eddy current of human body compare to international guide line recognized one of the basic problems. In open boundary problem, Magnetic field using FEM is not advantageous in the point of the division of area and the proposition of the fictitious boundary. Therefore, we induced the analytic equation of magnetic field calculations so but the finite line segment based on Biot-Savarts law Also, Eddy currents induced due to ELF-EMF magnetic field are computed. To calculate induced currents, impedance method is used in this paper, An example model of human head with resolution of 1.27cm is used. In this paper, We evaluate the magnetic field and eddy current of human head around 765 kV transmission lines compare to international guide line.

다중벽 탄소나노튜브의 표면처리에 따른 전기이중층 커패시터의 특성 (Surface Treatment of Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes for Increasing Electric Double-layer Capacitance)

  • 본 연구에서는 Urea와 산 처리로 질소 및 산소 관능기가 도입된 다중벽 탄소나노튜브를 각각 제조하였으며, 표면처리에 따른 전기이중층 커패시터 (EDLCs) 특성을 관찰하였다. XPS, zeta-potential, 및 BET 분석방법을 이용하여 구조특성을 확인하였으며, 전기화학적 특성은 1 M 황산용액의 전해질에서 각각 50 $mVs^{-1}$과 100 $mVs^{-1}$의 주사속도로 순환전류 전압곡선 특성 실험을 통해 고찰하였다. 실험 결과로부터 MWNTs의 질소 원소구성비가 늘어날수록 축전용량이 증가하는 것을 확인하였으며, Urea 처리된 MWNTs의 축전용량이 가장 높은 수치를 나타내었다. 이는 전극 표면과 전하 활성종 간의 젖음성이 증가하고, 표면 관능기의 밀도가 증가하기 때문인 것으로 사료된다.

Exact solutions of the piezoelectric transducer under multi loads

  • Under the external shearing stress, the external radial stress and the electric potential simultaneously, the piezoelectric hollow cylinder transducer is studied. With the Airy stress function method, the analytical solutions of this transducer are obtained based on the theory of piezo-elasticity. The solutions are compared with the finite element results of Ansys and a good agreement is found. Inherent properties of this piezoelectric cylinder transducer are presented and discussed. It is very helpful for the design of the bearing controllers.

  • The dispersion relation and the characteristic of propagation are measured. The measurements of the dispersion relation are observed by a plunger method employed in slow plasma density by pumping microwaves on the axis are observed in plasma loaded slow wave structure. In case of small incident microwave powers the well known plasma density cavity are observed. At the axial positions of minimal radius in the waveguides, the maxima og the electron density, the plasma potential and the RF electric field are observed in cases of high-power microwaves.

  • Merocyanine dye (MD) has been extensively investigated due to its marked potential application to photo-electric devices. We fabricated the number of layers to control its optical characteristics using the Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) method. We evaluated the morphology and optical characteristics of MD LB films using Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and UV spectroscopy, PL spectroscopy. As a result, we obtained the quantitative morphology and optical characteristics of LB films from controlling the deposided layers.

  • The problem of electromagnetic scattering from arbitrarily shaped lossy dielectric bodies of revolution is studied. Two coupled vector integral equations are formulated from the potential formulas, the equivalence principle and boundary condition. The unknown surface currents (both electric and magnetic) can be found by the moment method, Galerkins's procedure. After the surface currents are determined, the scattering pattern can be evaluated.
