건축물 화재시 개구분출화염으로 인한 상층부로의 화재확대 위험성평가 방법 구축 (Establishment of the Method for Evaluating the Risk of Fire Spread to the Upper Floors due to Ejected Flame from an Opening in the Building Fires)

  • As the fire inside the building grows rapidly, ejected flame from an opening occurs due to flashover. As a result, the number of cases where the flame spreads to the exterior of the building and rapidly expands to the upper floor is increasing. In particular, in the case of the fire in the Daebong Green Apartment, Uijeongbu in 2015, it was a case where the flame spread to adjacent buildings due to the opening eruption flame from the first ignited building, causing great damage to three apartments. Therefore, this study is to introduce an international standard under development that estimates the shape and properties of the ejected flame from an opening and quantitatively evaluates the radiant heat flux received by the exterior wall of the building by assuming the occurrence of the ejected flame from an opening.

  • In the event of a fire on the outer walls of an architectural structure, through real scale experiments with the purpose of estimating the Flame Trajectory, the behavior and risks of expanded combustion to an upper architectural compartment of the Fire Plume Ejected from an Opening according to changes in the aspect ratio of the opening were examined. The results showed that the more the heat release rate of the fire source increased, the heat capacity of the Fire Plume Ejected from the Opening also increased, and for the case of heptane when compared with methanol or ethanol, the results showed a trend for a significant amount of unburned gas to remain. The results also showed that the larger the aspect ratio was, the more likely it was for the Flame Trajectory to approach the outer walls and rise up. In each of the experiment conditions, as the flame rose from the lower part of the wall to the upper part of the wall, a steady decrease was shown for the temperature distribution. Also by quantitatively analyzing the amount of unburned gas that remained, a method to estimate the temperature of the Fire Plume Ejected from an Opening for a traverse opening was implemented.

  • This study identified the effects of flame on the upper by fire plume ejected. we implemented model experiment according to investigation of housing area effect, window aspect ratio and balcony availability. we confirmed that opening ratio was increased according to housing area larger. the square window confirmed that is progressing fire plume ejected of free space. According to the value of an opening aspect ratio 'n' getting higher, the horizontal widow is getting that increased the risk as the fire spread an external to the top of opening. it is determined to the fundamental solution about fire safety in the extended balcony of apartment.

  • The behavior of fire plumes has not yet been clearly identified for cases where sidewalls are installed near an opening in an unconfined space. In this research, we aim to quantitatively identify the effects on fire spread when sidewalls are located on both sides of an opening. Specifically, we focus on the effects on the fire plume of the relation between the location of sidewalls and the opening, and carry out a scale-model experiment to devise a flame height model and to evaluate the temperature distribution along the central axis of the flame.

  • Generation mechanisms of pressure waves from the H-IIA launch vehicle are analyzed numerically. The Mach wave radiated downstream from wavy shearlayer of supersonic exhaust plume is revealed to be the dominant noise source. Reflecting from the constructions of the launch-pad, the Mach wave turns to propagate to the vehicles. It was also found that the fluctuating supersonic plume entering into the flame duct is the dominant noise source that appears in the flame duct. Then, the pressure wave propagates through the flame duct and is ejected outside to the vehicle.

수적을 이용한 순수확산화염의 소화에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study of Extinguishiment of Purely Buoyant Diffusion Flame Using Water Drops)

  • This experimental study deals with the extinguishiment characteristics of an oil pool flame using the water spray. The water through the six different atomizers is ejected over the freely burning pool flame in the quiescent surrounding air. Injection direction is vertical to the surface of oil in a small tank with a diameter of 100mm and a height of 10mm. In order to estimate quantitatively the extinction, the burning rate as well as the effective water flux are measured. The effective water flux is the amount of the water which reach the pool from the nozzle. The burning rate with the water spray increases until the injection pressure increases to reach some value, which gives the maximum burning rate, while the effective water flux without the flame decreases or does not change according to increasing of the injection pressure. This maximum burning rate is greater than 2.5 times of burning rate of the fire without the water spray. As a matter of the extinguishiment, it is found that the water drops of which size is too small can not extinguish the fire because too small drops does not reach the fuel surface.

레이저 유도 공동 점화방식을 이용한 예혼합기 연소 특성 향상 (Combustion Enhancemen of Premixed Mixtures Using Laser-Induced Cavity Ignition)

  • In this study, a new type of laser-induced ignition using a conical cavity has been developed to utilize all the available incident laser energy. In the method, it is possibile to ignite combustible methane/air mixtures by directing a laser beam of a constant small diameter into a small conical cavity, without focusing the laser beam. Shadow graphs for the early stage of combustion process show that a hot gas jet is ejected from the cavity, especially with lean mixture. After a very show time, the hot gas jet finishes issuing and the flame behavior is quite similar to flame propagation initiated by a conventional spark ignition. The combustion process using the new method exhibits more rapid pressure increase and a higher maximum pressure rise than that of the center ignition using laser-induced spark, with significant decrease in the combustion time. Also, the new ignition method is numerically modeled to simulate the flame kernel development and subsequent combustion process using the KIVA-IIcode. The calculated results show satisfactory agreement with experimental results.

  • KSLV-I의 비행시험 시 발생된 고온 고압의 플룸이 발사체와 발사대 구조물에 미치는 영향을 감쇠시키기 위하여 발사대의 화염유도로 냉각장치에서 다량의 물을 분사하였다. 본 연구는 물분사가 플룸 및 유동장에 미치는 효과를 분석하기 위해 간략화 된 2차원 축대칭, 2-Phase 모델로 수치해석을 수행하였다.

  • This study compared the fire safety standards for windows of Korea, the U.S. and Japan to prevent fire expansion through exterior wall openings, and conducted experiments using PVC and aluminum window frames, which are widely used in Korea.The experiment is KS F 2845 which combines frames of the same thickness and area with single-window form and 1 hour fire resistance glass with 8T thickness. Experiments showed that the PVC window was about 9 minutes and the aluminum window was about 26 minutes. However, in Korea, there are no test standards for windows installed at the opening of the exterior wall. In addition, fire safety standards for windows shall be established along with the designation of fire prevention zones.
