  • Advertisements on the Web, rising as a major profit source of Web services, have a distinctive characteristic of detailed classification of potential customers, compared with those of other conventional media such as TV and newspaper. It is therefore possible to advertise selectively according to personal characteristics and to record precise advertisement effects. Web-based advertisement management systems of nowadays have the capability to select ones compatible with personal environment characteristics and registered information, and to provide processed information and knowledge about advertisement effects based on usage recordings. However, they have severe problems in modeling diverse requirements or characteristics of users : customers, advertisers and ISP, and in matching and coordinating of them. In order to solve these problems, we propose a frame work for coordinating the needs of users, advertisers, and ISPs, which is built on top of tree-style classification of advertisements. Other schemes are supported around the framework as follows : (1) characteristics management of pages within themselves, (2) rule-based modeling of advertisement target, and (3) user modeling and case-based analysis. We propose a prototype system within the framework.

  • The mid-20th century witnessed a wide spread of Korean culture in Japan, China and Southeast Asia and China now has become the biggest trade partner and export market, as well as the No. 1 source of import and the biggest investment country of Korea. With the spreading of the Korean popular culture in China, brand loyalty to Korean products is improved. Taking the Chinese market as the basis, this research aims to make an analysis of the implications of 'Korean Wave', Korean advertisements and the image of Korea on brand loyalty to cosmetics made in Korea. To achieve the research aim, questionnaires were used in conducting the survey, mainly in Beijing. Excluding the invalid ones, altogether 180 questionnaires were collected, based on which an empirical analysis was carried out on the correlation between 'Korean Wave', effects of Korean advertisements, image of Korea, brand recognition, and brand loyalty to products made in Korea. The major analyzing tools are SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 20.0. The findings are as follows: 1. Korean films, dramas, and attachment for Korean movie stars (representative of 'Korean Wave') all have a positive influence on brand loyalty. Recognition of the country image of Korea, to some extent, also has positive implications on brand recognition. 2. Empirical analysis assists in the testing of the degree of recognition and attachment of cosmetics made in Korea, as well as brand loyalty to them.

  • The purpose of this study was to find efficient and customized tools for delivering the benefit of health functional foods (HFFs). Delivery tools which could influence the impact of advertising were images, explanations of ingredients, diagrams of health benefit, patents, and comments from authority. Six advertisements were developed using these tools: "A": relevant image + explanation of ingredients + scientific diagram of efficacy; "B": relevant image + explanation of ingredients; "C": relevant image; "D": irrelevant image; "E": irrelevant image + explanation of ingredient + patent; "F": irrelevant image + explanation of ingredient + comments from authority. To analyze the consumer perceptions on HFFs and advertisement effects, 300 respondents were requested to answer a questionnaire comprising of the following questions: 5 questions of attitudes (necessity of HFFs, trust in HFFs, gathering information, watching advertisements and trust in advertisement claims) and 6 questions on the 6 developed advertisements (attention, understanding, sufficiency of information, sympathy, trust, and purchase). Scoring was done as per the 5 Likert scale. There was a higher proportion of females and the elderly, as compared to males and youngsters. The overall consumer attitudes were positive. Explanation of ingredients, scientific diagram of health benefit, patents and expert comments were helpful factors in increasing the advertisement evaluation by consumer, but the images were not. Advertisement evaluation of consumer did not differ with gender and age. However, differences were observed between some of the consumer attitudes (necessity of HFFs, trust in HFFs, gathering information and trust in advertisements claim) and advertisement evaluations (attention, understanding, sympathy and purchase). Our results indicate that for consumers utilizing the HFFs, advertisements with concrete tools such as diagrams, patent, and expert comments are more helpful. However, for consumers who do not have interest in HFFs, the scientific information was irrelevant. We believe that to maximize the effect of health information in advertisements, consumers should be segmented, and customized tools for each segment needs to be developed.

  • In recent years, due to the exponential increase in internet data, many fields such as deep learning have developed, but side effects generated as commercial advertisements, such as viral marketing, have been discovered. This not only damages the essence of the internet for sharing high-quality information, but also causes problems that increase users' search times to acquire high-quality information. In this study, we define advertisement as "a text that obscures the essence of information transmission" and we propose a model for filtering information according to that definition. The proposed model consists of advertisement filtering and advertisement filtering performance improvement and is designed to continuously improve performance. We collected data for filtering advertisements and learned document classification using KorBERT. Experiments were conducted to verify the performance of this model. For data combining five topics, accuracy and precision were 89.2% and 84.3%, respectively. High performance was confirmed, even if atypical characteristics of advertisements are considered. This approach is expected to reduce wasted time and fatigue in searching for information, because our model effectively delivers high-quality information to users through a process of determining and filtering advertisement paragraphs.
