For cases where the column concrete strength exceeds 1.4 times the slab concrete strength, the KCI Code requires that either: puddled high-strength concrete(HSC) be used in the slab, or the use of vertical dowels and spirals through the joint, or the use of an effective concrete strength in the joint. This paper studies on the third strategy. A prediction model of the effective concrete strength for interior columns was proposed using an analogy of brick and mortar in brick masonry. The proposed prediction model is verified by comparison with experimental results and various design equations.

This paper introduces a new linguistic-focused approach for sentiment analysis (SA) of Korean. In order to overcome shortcomings of previous works that focused mainly on statistical methods, we made effective use of various linguistic features reflecting the nature of Korean. These features include contextual shifters, modal affixes, and the morphological dependency of chunk structures. Moreover, in order to eschew possible confusion caused by ambiguous words and to improve the results of SA, we also proposed simple adjustment methods of word senses using KOLON ontology mapping information. Through experiments we contend that effective use of linguistic features and ontological information can improve the results of sentiment analysis of Korean.

The basis of the economic evaluation of vaccination is the balance between the use of the resources (input) and the improvements that result from the vaccination (output). Techniques used for economic evaluation of vaccination are cost analysis, cost-minimization analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, cost-utility analysis and cost-benefit analysis. Cost analysis seeks to characterize the costs of a given vaccination program. Cost-effective analysis is to helps policy-makers decide on the best use of allocated resources, whether cost-benefit analysis is to helps policy-makers decide on the overall allocation of resources. Cost-utility analysis is a specific form of cost-effective analysis in which outcomes are reduced to a common denominator such as the quality-adjusted life year (QALY) or disability-adjusted life year (DALY). Many economic analyses have been conducted on vaccines in the world, but there have been a little studies on economic evaluation on vaccines in Korea. This paper reviewed the methodology used to economic evaluation on vaccines and immunizations and addressed some examples of the methods.

In DC electric railway systems, the feeding currrnt is not permitted to flow backward in almost all the substations and the pantograph voltages at the regenerating cars rise extremely by the voltage drop of the resistance of the feeder line. In order to prevent the overrise of the pantograph voltage in power regenerating cars, the squeezing circuits for the regenerative current are equipped and this leads to double losses, which are an extra worn-out of the brake-shoes and an ineffective use of regenerative power. In this study, the insertion of resistors in the feeder line system is proposed as a possible method for the effective utilization of the regenerative power in the electric railways. Also it is investigated how the output voltages of substations affect the effective use of regenertive capability. The investigation results show that the energy savings and the reduction of the worn-out of the brake-shoe can be achieved at the same time by the insertion of resistors in the feeder line system.

As an effort to explore the effective use of carbon nanotubes as a reinforcing material for advanced nano-composites with polymer matrices, multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were successfully incorporated into polystyrene (PS) via in-situ bulk polymerization. Various experimental techniques revealed that the covalent bonds formed between PS radicals and acid-treated carbon nanotubes are favorable resulting in an effective load transfer. The enhanced storage modulus of the nanocomposites suggests a strong possibility for the potential use in industrial applications.

This study is on the effective methods for non metric camera calibration for its use in accurate close range photogrammetric surveying. We tested four estimation methods used for calculating interior orientation parameters and two methods for building calibration field, one is using targets which have three dimensional coordinates and the other is using two dimensional grid targets. By analysing test results effective and accurate calibration methods were suggested.

Digital transformation is accelerating in all industries due to COVID-19 and rapidly developing ICT technology. In the field of education, teaching methods that combine various IT devices and software technologies are being applied. The education requires a future learning environment using EduTech such as digital learning tools. We perform a case study on the use of digital learning tools for effective class. In this study, digital learning tools were applied to an university class. The class was held in the second semester of 2022 at A university, with 67 students participating. In our case, QuizN, Mentimeter, and Google Forms were applied as digital learning tools. In order to evaluate our case, a survey was conducted using the Google Questionnaire. From the results of the survey evaluation, more than 85% of all survey questions answered that they were satisfied. From it, digital learning tools were shown to be effective in class operation.

This has been designed for an attempt to survey a library use competency in order to provide basic information to plan more effective library use instruction for high school students. To get necessary data, a questionnaire was sent to 450 students in the 7 sample high schools in Seoul, and $80\%$ of them responded. The followings are the analysed results. 1. $42\%$ of them responded that they have heard about the decimal classification and $15\%$ of all the students have ever used decimal classification to search for the materials. 2. $3.6\%$ responded that they can understand the decimal classification and $66\%$ of all the students want to know about decimal classification. 3. $94\%$ responded that they have heard about the catalog cards and $41\%$ of all the students used catalog cards to search for the materials. 4. $29\%$ responded that they can understand the catalog cards and $68\%$ of all the students want to know about the catalog cards. 5. $61\%$ responded that they can use reference books. 6. $55.6\%$ responded that they know about the parts of a book. 7. $11\%$ responded that they can footnote. Reviewing the results of this study, library use competency of high school students can be said to be below level. And more effective approach is expected.

Purpose: The aims of this study were to identify the psychosocial interventions for patients with alcohol use disorder and to assess the effects of those interventions. Methods: A systematic literature search was conducted using PubMed, the Cochrane Library, Embase, CINAHL, PsycINFO, KoreaMed, KMBASE, RISS, KISS, Science ON, and DBpia to identify studies reported in English or Korean from 2012 to 2021. Results: From the 4,051 studies extracted, 14 studies were selected for review. The majority of the psychosocial interventions were focused on cognitive therapy or cognitive-behavior therapy. Most of the studies reported that the interventions made positive effects on alcohol consumptions. In addition, the psychosocial interventions for patients with alcohol use disorder were effective on coping, support, alcohol avoidance behavior, and hostility bias. Most of the studies reporting positive effects of psychosocial intervention programs applied computers, mobile phones, or similar electronic devices. Conclusion: The findings of this systematic review suggest that the use of computers or mobile devices in psychosocial intervention programs will be effective. It can be said that this systematic review reflects the current trends involving the development of information and communication technology. This systematic review can provide basic data for establishing evidence and suggesting future directions for psychosocial interventions for patients with alcohol use disorder.

본 연구는 중등학교 수학 수업에서 컴퓨터 보조수업의 활용실태를 알아보고, 컴퓨터 보조수업에 대한 수학교사와 학생들의 인식을 조사하기 위하여 설문지를 통하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과 수학 수업에서 컴퓨터 보조수업의 교육적 효과 및 필요성은 인식하고 있음에도 불구하고, 그 활용은 미흡한 것으로 나타났다. 컴퓨터 보조수업의 활성화를 위해서는 다양한 코스웨어의 개발, 컴퓨터 사용 환경개선 및 교사 연수 등에 대한 지속적인 지원과 관심이 필요한 것으로 드러났다.
