Consumers' price related response in the clothing purchase decision-making process includes their expectation of price, price perception, attitude toward price and consequent behaviors. The purposes of this research are to systematically organize consumers' price related responses in the clothing purchase decision-making process, and to explain the effect of price on their purchasing. The qualitative research including shopping observation and in-depth interview was conducted. The result identified stages that showed different price related responses in clothing purchase decision-making process, and clarified each stage's characteristics. In the internal search stage, consumers recalled price information from memory and had a specific expectation about the price. This set a direction for the external search. In the external search stage, consumers selected brands or stores by a non-compensatory evaluating with an expectation of the price, and narrowed these down to several determinant alternatives by actively evaluating the products. In case a sufficient amount of price information was not recalled, the consumer established reference price through the external search. Finally, in the purchasing stage, consumers evaluated the determinant alternatives based on their compensatory evaluation. When perception of price was negative, consumers evaluate price combined with the higher criteria of clothing benefits, such as symbolic value and usability. The research is expected to contribute to predicting consumers' responses to price, and to establishing an effective pricing strategy.

The breakwater extension at Anmok Harbor has resulted in erosional stresses along the wide range of shorelines immediately south of the harbor. In this study, therefore, the downdrift affects caused by the breakwater extension are investigated through both analytical and numerical approaches. In addition, this study stresses the need of monitoring and analysis system for the effective integrated coastal zone management and shows through the case study of Anmok Harbor how the numerical experiments are accomplished for the coastal zone management. The numerical model system, which predicts the seabed changes obtained from the difference between the rates of sediment pickup and settling due to gravity, is combined with the wave, wave-induced currents, and suspended sediment transport models. A new relationship between the near-bed concentration and the depth-mean concentration, which is required in estimating the settling rates. is presented by analyzing the vertical structure of concentration.
Koreatech has adopted a long-term co-op program called IPP (Industry Professional Practice) to address problems in higher education of Korea since 2012, but it was anticipated to face many difficulties in implementing the program due to lack of relevant experiences in Korea. In this regard, a performance evaluation scheme was urgently required to judge the effectiveness of the Co-op program and improve the operational efficiency at the same time. This study aimed to develop comprehensive performance evaluation criteria for the co-op programs on the basis of Kirkpatrick's four-level performance evaluation model for training programs, and apply it to a real Co-op operation to test its feasibility. For this purpose, thorough review on the training program evaluation literature and in-depth analyses of overseas cases of co-op performance evaluation were conducted. Then, a set of Co-op performance evaluation criteria was developed and applied to the Koreatech's Co-op operation in 2013. Two Co-op student questionnaire surveys were administered before and after Co-op terms to measure students' reactions to the Co-op program (Level 1) and changes in participating students' attitudes and competencies (Level 2). In addition, employment rates of Co-op participating and non-participating students were compared (Level 4). The analysis findings showed that participating students were quite satisfied with their jobs and companies, and the Co-op program was effective to a certain degree at enhancing non-major competencies and attitudes to occupation of students. Together, the employment rate of Co-op participants, particularly in small- and medium-sized companies, grew significantly in comparison with that of non-participants. In the last part, several directions for improving the effectiveness of the Co-op programs were discussed.
Modern museums introduce a so-called method of 'exhibitions that approach' apart from the scheme of exhibitions in a simple listing type, creating a series of stories based on the original forms of remains put on display, adopting various methods of media access, and enabling the spectators of the museums to find exhibits a little more convincing and understand them more in depth, which might look somewhat isolated from their everyday lives. The configuration of the exhibitions that approach can easily be found in the mode of narrative development of exhibition topics and scenarios, and in this sense, a study on the narrativity of exhibitions is effective for analyzing the exhibition spaces of the museums. Furthermore, an analysis on exhibition spaces may be conducted through the process of forming the messages of exhibition contents and interpreting the narrative structures of the modes of development, and allows people to think that the methods of interpreting the spaces established like this may form an organic complementary relationship with exhibition contents and have a more extended meaning. Thus, this study examines the narrativity of Jeon-gok prehistory museum and the narrative structure systems based on the structuralist narrative theory, approaches the modes of narrative development of the spaces based on semiotic judgment, and aims to understand the structures of the space narrative. In addition, It is another object of the present invention in order to verify the objectivity, throughout the course of additional case studies, to improve the efficiency of future exhibition design.
Sedimentation tanks are essential structures to filter the suspended sediments in the inlet flow which are constructed at the inlet of the basins forked from rivers and irrigation canals. The larger the constructed tank, the better the sedimentation process is conducted. However, the construction and dredging costs increase. In this regard, improving the performance and sedimentation efficiency seem necessary by alternative methods. One of these effective methods is using baffle plates. Most of the studies carried out in this field are on the use of these baffles in the primary and secondary sedimentation tanks. Hence, this study is carrier out with the objective of increasing the retention efficiency in the irrigation sedimentation tanks using baffles. To reach this goal, the experiments were carried out in a flume with length 8 meters, width 0.3 meters, and height 0.5 meters, considering a sedimentation tanks with a length of 3 meters, in three different inlet concentration, three flow rates and three Froude numbers. The baffles were mounted at the bottom of the tank and the effects of the angle, height and position in the tanks were investigated. The results showed that on average, employing the baffles increased the sedimentation efficiency 5 to 6% and the highest value was obtained for angle 60 with respect to the flow direction. According to the results of this study, the most favorable height and position of these baffles were obtained to be in 40% of the depth of the flow and 50% of the length of the sedimentation tank, respectively. Also, by increasing the number of baffles, the sedimentation efficiency decreased. Regarding the sedimentation regions in this case, more than 80% of the settled sediments were observed in the middle of the tank measured from the inlet.

The Earth Mechanics Institute (EMI) was established at the Colorado School of Mines (CSM) in 1974 to develop innovations in rock mechanics research and education. During the last four decades, extensive rock mechanics research has been conducted at the EMI. Results from uniaxial compressive strength (UCS), Brazilian tensile strength (BTS), point load index (PLI), punch penetration (PP), and many other types of tests have been recorded in a database that has been unexamined for research purposes. The EMI database includes over 20,000 tests from over 1,000 different projects including mining and underground construction, and analysis of this database to identify relationships has been started with preliminary results reported here. Overall, statistically significant correlations are identified between bulk density and mechanical strength properties through UCS, BTS, PLI, and PP testing of sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks. In this paper, bulk density is considered as a surrogate metric that reflects both mineralogy and porosity. From this analysis, sedimentary rocks show the strongest correlation between the UCS and bulk density, whereas metamorphic rocks exhibit the strongest correlation between UCS and PP. Data trends in the EMI database also reveal a linear relationship between UCS and BTS tests. For the singular case of rock coral, the database permits correlations between bulk density of the core versus the deposition depth and porosity. The EMI database will continue under analysis, and will provide additional insightful and comprehensive understanding of the variation and predictability of rock mechanical strength properties and density. This knowledge will contribute significantly toward the increasingly safe and cost-effective geostructures and construction.

This study was carried out to investigate the effects of pyroligneous acid on turfgrass growth and to propose usage for sustainable management on Korean golf course green. Each plot was treated with 0, 300, 500, and 800 acid to water solution. On all the plots, turfgrass growth increment and visual quality were measured at fried times. The data were subjected to paired samples t-test and corelation analysis. The summarized results are as follows; 1) Leaf growth increment, density, and root spread depth of turfgrass treated with 1: 500 and 1: 800 diluted pyroligneous acid were significantly superior to the control. Particularly, 1: 500 diluted solution was superior to the others. 2) Color, texture, and uniformity of turfgrass treated with 1: 500 and 1: 800 diluted pyroligneous acid were significantly superior to the control. Especially, 1: 500 diluted solution tended to be superior to the others. 3) There were no symptoms of disease in all plots treated with the diluted pyroligneous acid. 1 500 and 1: 800 diluted pyroligneous acid were not thought to trigger or promote disease. 4) Before and after investigating the effect of pyroligneous acid on turfgrass growth ,the soils were analyzed. In all treatments, the chemical properties of the soils did not change noticeably. The chemical properties of the soils might be not changed by the diluted pyroligneous acid treatments. 5) Considering the results mentioned above, 1: 500 diluted pyroligneous acid was the most effective. Though pyroligneous acid is an organic fertilizer and contains only a little nitrogen and phosphorus, 1: 500 diluted pyroligneous acid promoted turfgrass growth effectively. Thus this use might lead to a reduction in the amount of fertilizers used and result in ecologically responsive management of Korean golf courses.
Magnesium has been used as light and functional material, and its demand is increasing as a material for automobile engine and for mobile phone or notebook PC case. Fused salt electrolysis and thermal reduction are regarded as main methods for the extraction of magnesium, and choice for the method is firstly according to raw material. In this study, magnesium metal is obtained by an electrolysis of magnesium chloride. Two types of fused salt mixtures were used as electrolyte and electrolyzed at 7V with a graphite anode having the same depth, and their results were compared with each other. A mixed salt of $KCl/NaCl/MgCl_2$ was the more effective than $KCl/NaCl/CaCl_2/CaF_2/MgCl_2$ in current efficiency through the experiments at $760^{\circ}C$. Purity of the prepared magnesium metal was above 98%. Some basic data for scale-up of the magnesium electrolysis equipment, which would be necessary for a commercialization, could be obtained.

Rooftop greenery has been used as a way to solve urban environmental problems by creating green space in densely populated cities. This study was carried out to suggest more effective designs for roof-garden at hospitals through a post-occupancy evaluation. The roofgarden of Asan Medical Center was evaluated with regards to setting, proximate environmental context, users, and design activity by a multi-method including plan investigations, observations, in-depth interviews and questionnaires. The results are summarized as follows; the users' main activities included resting, walking, and talking. A number of users were observed at shaded spaces sitting on such things as benches, pergolas, and shelters. The satisfaction of the users showed high satisfaction level except in the amount of shade, facilities, and shelter. The variables affecting a overall satisfaction were ‘accessibility’, ‘safety’, ‘quality of surroundings’, and ‘suitability for speculation’. By comparing the design concept with using pattern, designer's intention was not reflected sufficiently in several aspects such as ‘event deck for therapy programs’, ‘grove and path’, and ‘low planters’. This study suggests some design implications; it is necessary to furnish shaded sitting places for passive behaviors and pathways for walking or a light exercise. A wind-break wall with glass windows could widen the users' views in a limited space. Natural shade like tree shade or pergola are more desirable than artificial shades. As for the vertical location of the roofgarden, the middle floor could be better than top area for accessibility. Characteristics of building and users should be considered in detail to provide distinct spaces. Proper technical standards for the greening of artificial ground should be established.
In this study, a large laboratory model experiment was conducted with the aim of developing an embankment reinforcement method to prevent overtopping, which is the main cause for the failure of agricultural reservoirs. The model experiment was carried out with concrete and asphalt as a permanent reinforcement method and with geomembrane as the emergency method at a deteriorated homogeneous reservoir. Under the non-reinforced conditions, the pattern of the failure appeared in several scour directions from the downstream slope as the overtopping began, and the width and depth of the erosion were magnified as it gradually moved to the dam crest. Under the conditions reinforced with asphalt and concrete, the overtopping was stabilized. In the case of the concrete reinforcement, it was found that the slope of the riprap boundary exhibited downward erosion by the current; thus, it was necessary to construct an extension up to the riprap joint of the upstream and downstream sides to prevent the expansion of the failure. Under the conditions reinforced with the geomembrane sheet, the overtopping was stabilized, and no seepage was found that required the emergency reinforcement method. Asphalt, concrete, and geomembrane sheet reinforcements have been shown to be capable of delaying failure for about 1 hour and 40 minutes compared to the non-reinforcement conditions. The reinforcement method is considered to be a very effective method to prevent disasters during overtopping. The pore water pressure can be used as useful data to predict the risk of failure at an embankment.
