이면도로 비신호교차로에서 AI 기반 엣지컴퓨팅 기술이 교통사고 감소에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Impact of AI Edge Computing Technology on Reducing Traffic Accidents at Non-signalized Intersections on Residential Road)

  • 교통사고에 가장 취약한 도로는 이면도로 비신호교차로이며, 이들 취약지점에 AI 및 엣지 컴퓨팅 융합 기술을 적용하여 교통사고를 예방하고자 하는 시도가 이루어졌다. 본 연구에서는 현장 데이터를 활용하여 AI 및 엣지컴퓨팅 기술이 어떻게 교통사고 감소에 영향을 미칠 수 있고 한계가 무엇인지 교통공학적 측면에서 분석하였다. AI 객체인식으로 20m 후방에서 객체정보를 취득함으로써 운전자는 약 3.6초의 대응시간을 확보하게 되고, 엣지기술에 의해 0.5~0.8초만에 정보가 표출되어 운전자는 교차로 상황에 대응할 수 있는 시간을 얻게 된다. 또한, 교차로 접근로 10m지점에서는 11~12km, 20m지점에서는 20km/h 수준으로 속도관리가 이루어질 때 교차로 진입 전 정지가 가능한 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 이들 시스템 도입 후 실증 교차로의 데이터를 Taylor 모형에 적용하면 교통사고 확률이 약 40% 감소하는 것으로 분석되었다. 결과적으로 높은 AI 기술의 높은 객체인식률, 엣지기술의 실시간 정보제공 그리고 교차로 접근로의 적정 속도관리가 함께 이루어질 때 교통사고 감소가 가능한 것으로 나타났다.

  • This study proposes the method to use existing digital maps as one of the technologies to exclude individual differences that occur in the process of manually determining GCP for the geometric correction of KOMPSAT images and applying it to the images and to automate the generation of ortho-images. It is known that, in case high-resolution satellite images are corrected geometrically by using RPC, first order polynomials are generally applied as the correction formula in order to obtain good results. In this study, we matched the corresponding objects between 1:25,000 digital map and a KOMPSAT image to obtain the coefficients of the zero order polynomial and showed the differences in the pixel locations obtained through the matching. We performed proximity corrections using the Boolean operation between the point data of the surface linear objects and the point data of the edge objects of the image. The surface linear objects are road, water, building from topographic map.

  • In this paper, we describe an image processing algorithm which is able to recognize the road lane. This algorithm performs to recognize the interrelation between AGV and the other vehicle. We experimented on AGV driving test with color CCD camera which is setup on the top of vehicle and acquires the digital signal. This paper is composed of two parts. One is image preprocessing part to measure the condition of the condition of the lane and vehicle. This finds the information of lines using RGB ratio cutting algorithm, the edge detection and Hough transform. The other obtains the situation of other vehicles using the image processing and viewport. At first, 2 dimension image information derived from vision sensor is interpreted to the 3 dimension information by the angle and position of the CCD camera. Through these processes, if vehicle knows the driving conditions which are lane angle, distance error and real position of other vehicles, we should calculate the reference steering angle.

  • This paper describes a self-localization method for the mobile robot using panoramic view images. A panoramic view image has the information of location of the objects from the viewer robot and direction between the objects at a position. Among the sequence of panoramic view images, the target objects in the image like traffic signs, facade of a building, road signs, etc. locate in the real world so that robot´s position and direction deliver to localize from his view. With the previously captured panoramic images, the method calculates the distance and direction of the region of interest, corresponds the regions between the sequences, and identifies the location in the world.   • In this paper, development of the noise barrier analysis program is described. The upper part of barriers may have complicated shapes like "Y", "T", inverted L, and other shapes. The insertion loss of the barrier is predicted by summation of multiple diffractions occurring at top edge points. In addition, the program considers diffractions occurring at both vertical sides, while reflections from ground due to mirror images are also included. In case of two barriers at both sides of the road, reflections from the other side of barriers are considered, in which magnitudes are decreased by the ratio of absorption coefficient.

  • In this paper, to control the existing headlamp control system using steering wheel angle more efficiently and more actively, image processing algorithm which improved the detection rate of lane at night based on camera was suggested. And to recognize road lane more clearly in the conditions of low illumination, new algorithms were developed in the aspects of improving brightness, extracting clear lane edge and using the characteristics of lane. Through this research, it turned out that lane detection ability by using the normalized stretching, angular mask and expected-area scan have good performance in the night compare to existing algorithms.

  • The minimum spanning tree (MST) problem is one of the traditional optimization problems. Unlike the MST, the degree constrained minimum spanning tree (DCMST) of a graph cannot, in general, be found using a polynomial time algorithm. So, finding the DCMST of a graph is a well-known NP-hard problem of importance in communications network design, road network design and other network-related problems. So, it seems to be natural to use evolutionary algorithms for solving DCMST. Especially, when applying an evolutionary algorithm to spanning tree problems, a representation and search operators should be considered simultaneously. This paper introduces a new tree representation scheme and a genetic operator for solving combinatorial tree problem using evolutionary algorithms. We performed empirical comparisons with other tree representations on several test instances and could confirm that the proposed method is superior to other tree representations. Even it is superior to edge set representation which is known as the best algorithm.

  • In this paper, we propose a new binocular stereo correspondence method by maximizing a fitness formulated by integrating two constraints of edge similarity and disparity smoothness simultaneously. The proposed stereopsis focusing to measure distances to leading vehicles on roads uses intensity gradients as matching attribute. In contrast to the previous work of area-based stereo matching, in which matching unit is a pixel, the matching unit of the proposed method becomes an area itself which is obtained by selecting a series of pixels enclosed by two pixels on the left and right boundaries of an object. This approach allows us to cope with real-time processing and to avoid window size selection problems arising from conventional area-based stereo.

  • In urban area, since multipath and signal attenuations frequently occur due to street trees, street lights and buildings, it is difficult to obtain accurate navigation solution using GPS. As these problems also impact negatively on the INS/GPS coupled system, implementing advanced transportation systems such as autonomous navigation system and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) become quite hard. For this reason, to alleviate deterioration of navigation system performance in urban area, direction information extraction algorithm using vision system is proposed in this paper. 2D Finite Rate of Innovation (FRI) technique is applied to extract lane edges. The proposed technique is simulated using road images and feasibility of proposed technique is analyzed through the simulation results.

  • The word \"permaculture\" is a contraction of \"permanent agriculture\" or \"permanent culture\". Permaculture principles are designed to support (or ensure) the survival of humanity, the earth and all on it, and, to improve our standard of living, Permaculture can be defined as : a design system for creating sustainable human environments that can be (relatively) easily constructed and maintained. The principles of permaculture designs are relative location every element (such as house , rice paddy, road, esc) is placed in relation to each other such that each assists the other : each element performs multiple functions ; each function is supported by many elements : energy efficient planning ; using biological resources rather than fossil fuels : energy cycling on site (both fuel and human energy) : Using and accelerating natural plant succession to establish favourable sites and soils ; poly-culture and diversity of beneficial species for a productive, interactive system ; use of edge and natural patterns for best effect. These principles can be used for any permaculture design, in any climate, and at any scale.
