  • Single point diamond turning technique for optical crystals is studied in this paper. The main factors which are influential the machined surface quality are discovered and regularities of machining process are drawn. Optical crystals have found more and more important applications in the field of modern optics. Optical crystals are mostly brittle materials of poor machinability. The traditional machining method is polishing which has many shortcomings such as low production efficiency, poor ability to be automatically controlled and edge effect of the workpiece. The purpose of our research is to find the optimal machining conditions for ductile cutting of optical crystals and to apply the SPDT technique to the manufacturing of ultra precision optical components of brittle material(Ge). Many technical challenges are being tried for the large space infrared telescope, which is one of the major objectives of the National Strategic Technology Road Map (NSTRM).

WAVELET-BASED FOREST AREAS CLASSIFICATION BY USING HIGH RESOLUTION IMAGERY

  • This paper examines that is extracted certain information in forest areas within high resolution imagery based on wavelet transformation. First of all, study areas are selected one more species distributed spots refer to forest type map. Next, study area is cut 256 x 256 pixels size because of image processing problem in large volume data. Prior to wavelet transformation, five texture parameters (contrast, dissimilarity, entropy, homogeneity, Angular Second Moment (ASM≫ calculated by using Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM). Five texture images are set that shifting window size is 3x3, distance .is 1 pixel, and angle is 45 degrees used. Wavelet function is selected Daubechies 4 wavelet basis functions. Result is summarized 3 points; First, Wavelet transformation images derived from contrast, dissimilarity (texture parameters) have on effect on edge elements detection and will have probability used forest road detection. Second, Wavelet fusion images derived from texture parameters and original image can apply to forest area classification because of clustering in Homogeneous forest type structure. Third, for grading evaluation in forest fire damaged area, if data fusion of established classification method, GLCM texture extraction concept and wavelet transformation technique effectively applied forest areas (also other areas), will obtain high accuracy result.

  • In this paper we introduce a new graph labeling called k-prime cordial labeling. Let G be a (p, q) graph and 2 ≤ p ≤ k. Let f : V (G) → {1, 2, . . . , k} be a map. For each edge uv, assign the label gcd (f(u), f(v)). f is called a k-prime cordial labeling of G if |vf (i) − vf (j)| ≤ 1, i, j ∈ {1, 2, . . . , k} and |ef (0) − ef (1)| ≤ 1 where vf (x) denotes the number of vertices labeled with x, ef (1) and ef (0) respectively denote the number of edges labeled with 1 and not labeled with 1. A graph with a k-prime cordial labeling is called a k-prime cordial graph. In this paper we investigate the k-prime cordial labeling behavior of a star and we have proved that every graph is a subgraph of a k-prime cordial graph. Also we investigate the 3-prime cordial labeling behavior of path, cycle, complete graph, wheel, comb and some more standard graphs.

  • Redefining the difference among the Yamaguchi's 'so-called Yeoncheon system,' north Korean's 'Rimjin System' and Yeoncheon Group of national geological map, authors tried to avoid a possible misunderstanding of concept between Yeoncheon Group and Imjingang fold Belt. As a tool of preliminary geological mapping and or N-S reconnaissance of the whole Yeoncheon Group, an interpretation technique of satellite image from various angles has been applied to understand the geometrical attitude of strike and dip of random spot, and a further concept like as cross section.

  • 본 논문에서는 깊이 영상의 해상도와 품질을 향상시키는 방법을 제안한다. 일반적으로 2D-plus-Depth 구조의 3D 콘텐츠에서는 깊이 영상의 품질이 매우 중요하다. 최근 들어 Time-of-Flight (TOF) 방식의 깊이 센서가 깊이 영상 획득에 많이 사용되고 있는데 TOF 깊이 센서가 제공하는 깊이 영상은 저해상도이기 때문에 고해상도 3D 콘텐츠를 제작하기 위해서는 깊이 영상의 해상도를 상향 변환하는 것이 필수적이다. 또한 고품질의 깊이 영상을 얻기 위해서는 물체 간의 경계를 정교하게 보존하는 것이 중요하다. 최근에는 깊이 영상의 해상도 상향 변환을 위해서 Joint Bilateral Upsampling(JBU) 방식이 많이 사용되고 있다. 본 논문은 깊이 영상의 해상도를 높임에 있어서 우선 보간법을 수행하여 영상의 상향 변환 시에 생긴 빈 홀들의 값을 채워준 후 Bilateral Filtering을 수행함으로써 성능을 높인다. 일반적으로 영상을 상향 변환을 할 때 다양한 방법들이 있는데 본 논문에서는 Nearest Neighborhood(NN), Gaussian과 경계 보존 보간법, 경계 보존 보간법과 Fast Curvature Based Interpolation(FCBI)를 결합한 보간법을 사용하였다. 실험 결과 제안 방법이 기존 방법보다 우수한 성능을 가짐을 보여준다. 또한 경계 보존 보간법과 FCBI를 결합한 보간법을 이용해서 상향 변환을 수행한 결과가 다른 보간법들에 의한 결과보다 우수하다는 점을 알 수 있다.

  • In this paper, we classify next generation mobile communications services into service categories and develop service evolution scenarios for developing the next generation mobile communications service roadmap in NGMC Forum. Firstly, Service categories are defined based on the purpose of service usage. Secondly, the services are classified into the categories and their relationship is analyzed. The candidates of services to be classified and analyzed include all kinds of services discussed in a conceptual level as well as current mobile/Internet services. Finally, we develop a service evolution scenario in each service category. When the next generation service road map is developed based on the results of this paper, it is expected to secure the initiative and enhance the competitive edge in the field of the next generation mobile communications.

Flow structures around a three-dimensional rectangular body with ground effect

  • An experimental investigation of the flow over the rectangular body located in close proximity to a ground board was reported using the particle image velocimetry (PIV) technique. The present experiments were conducted in a closed-loop open surface water channel with the Reynolds number, $Re_H=1.2{\times}10^4$ based on the model height. In addition to the PIV measurements, flow visualization studies were also carried out. The PIV technique provided instantaneous and time-averaged velocity vectors map, vorticity contours, streamline topology and turbulent quantities at various locations in the near wake. In the vertical symmetry plane, the upperbody flow is separated from the sharp top leading edge of the model and formed a large reverse flow region on the upper surface of the model. The flow structure downstream of the model has asymmetric double vortices. In the horizontal symmetry plane, identical separated flow regions occur on both vertical side walls and a pair of primary recirculatory bubbles dominates the wake region.

Efficient Sphere Partition Method for Finding the Maximum Intersection of Spherical Convex Polygons (구 볼록 다각형들의 최대 교차를 찾기 위한 효율적인 구 분할 방식)

  • The maximum intersection of spherical convex polygons are to find spherical regions owned by the maximum number of the polygons, which is applicable for determining the feasibility in manufacturing problems such mould design and numerical controlled machining. In this paper, an efficient method for partitioning a sphere with the polygons into faces is presented for the maximum intersection. The maximum intersection is determined by examining the ownerships of partitioned faces, which represent how many polygons contain the faces. We take the approach of edge-based partition, in which, rather than the ownerships of faces, those of their edges are manipulated as the sphere is partitioned incrementally by each of the polygons. Finally, gathering the split edges with the maximum number of ownerships as the form of discrete data, we approximately obtain the centroids of all solution faces without constructing their boundaries. Our approach is analyzed to have an efficient time complexity Ο(nv), where n and v, respectively, are the numbers of polygons and all vertices. Futhermore, it is practical from the view of implementation since it can compute numerical values robustly and deal with all degenerate cases.

  • Slope stability analysis was conducted using remote sensing and Geoscientific Information System (GIS) as a part of natural hazard assessment around Chungju area. Landsat TM band 5 and 7 which contain more information about geological structure and geography are chosen and processed to analyse regional geological structure. Through image processing technique such as PCA, HFF, edge detection and enhancement, regional lineament can be mapped and identified. The lineament density map is constructed based on summed length of lineaments per unit area and the study area can be divided into 7 structural domains. Various factors of slope stability analysis such as geology, slope aspect, degree of slope, landcover, water shed as well as characterized structural domain are constructed as a database of GIS. Rating and weighting of each factor for slope stability analysis is decided by considering environmental geological characteristics of study area. Spatial analysis of regional slope stability is examined through overlaying technique of the GIS. The result of areal distribution of slope stability shows that the most unstable area is all over Jaeogae-ni, Hyangsan-ni and Mt. Daedun.

  • This paper describes the results of 2D mapping, feature detection and matching to create the surrounding environment in the mounted stereo camera on Mobile robot. Extract method of image's feature in real-time processing for quick operation uses the edge detection and Sum of Absolute Difference(SAD), stereo matching technique can be obtained through the correlation coefficient. To estimate the location of a mobile robot using ZigBee beacon and encoders mounted on the robot is estimated by Kalman filter. In addition, the merged gyro scope to measure compass is possible to generate map during mobile robot is moving. The Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) of mobile robot technology with an intelligent robot can be applied efficiently in human life would be based.
