  • The effects of boundary conditions on natural frequencies for the ring stiffened composite cylindrical shells are investigated by theoretical method. The Love's thin shell theory and the discrete stiffener theory with beam functions in the Ritz procedure are used to derive the frequency equation. Five different boundary conditions such as clamped-clamped, simply supported-simply supported, free-free, clamped-free, clamped-simply supported are considered in this study. Also, the experimental investigation is presented to validate the theoretical results.

  • In this study, a computer program was developed for analysis of the orthotropic curved ring sector plates. In the developing program , the thin-plate theory and multi-base coordinate system was adopted. The effect of design factors-boundary conditions, loading conditions, steel ratio, open angle, radius of curvature and relative flexural rigidity between slab and edge-beam-on the behavior of the circular ring sector plates were discussed. Also, the practical limitations was proposed to replace the problem of the orthotropic sector plate by equivalent rectangular plage.

  • This paper intends to propose design information with the result or comparing the deformation capacity with different panel stiffness specimens and estimating the plastic deformation capacity, toughness and strength of welded joint connection according to the different scallop types. The test results of the beam to column unit structure are as follow: the non-scalloped and the low stiffness panel specimen have more desirable result values than the scalloped and the high stiffness one in plastic deformation. Comparing the scallop types shows very unlikely tendency as follows, second cracking occurs at the very edge of scallop in the scalloped specimen otherwise cracking occurs bond area of welded beam flange in the non-scalloped one.

  • Interpreted is the geometric signal in the angle beam ultrasonic testing for the pin-finger type of turbine blade roots. The geometry of the blade roots is described and the reflection conditions for appearance of the geometric signal are proposed. The general equation for its beam path is derived and verified. As the results, it is found that the geometric signal is the back reflection front the ligament edge, and its position and amplitude can be determined from the dimension of blade root and the beam directivity of transducer.

  • In this paper, it is proposed a method of optimizing path parameters for large-area laser processing. On-the-fly system is necessary for large-area laser processing of uniform quality. It is developed a MOTF(Marking On-The-Fly) board for synchronizing the stage and scanner. And it is introduced the change of the error due to the change of parameters and algorithm for large-area laser processing. This algorithm automatically generates stage path and a velocity profile using acceleration and deceleration parameters. Since this method doesn't use a G-code, even if without expert knowledge, it has an advantage that can be accessed easily. Angle of one of the square of $350{\times}350mm$ was changed from $50^{\circ}$ to $80^{\circ}$ and analyzed the error corresponding to the value of Ta. It is calculated the value of Ta of the best with a precision of 20um through measurement of accuracy according to the Ta of each angle near the edge.

  • The field around additional cutout of the floor beam web in orthotropic bridge deck was subjected to high stress concentration, especially the weld toe between floor beam and U shaped rib and the free edge of the additional cutout. Based on different considerations, different geometrical parameters of additional cutout were proposed in European, American and Japanese specifications, and there remained remarkable differences among them. In this study, considering influence of out-of-plane deformation of floor beam web and U shaped rib, parameter analysis for additional cutout under typical load cases was performed by fine finite element method. The influence of additional cutout shape and height to the stress distribution around the additional cutout were investigated and analyzed. Meanwhile, the static and fatigue test on this structure details was carried out. The stress distribution was consistent with the finite element analysis results. The fatigue property for additional cutout height of 95mm was slightly better than that of 61.5 mm.

  • ZnO thin films were grown on porous silicon (PS) by plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy (PA-MBE). The optical properties of the ZnO thin films grown on PS were studied using room-temperature, low-temperature, and temperature-dependent photoluminescence (PL). The full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the near-band-edge emission (NBE) from the ZnO thin films was 98 meV, which was much smaller than that of ZnO thin films grown on a Si substrate. This value was even smaller than that of ZnO thin films grown on a sapphire substrate. The Huang-Rhys factor S associated with the free exciton (FX) emission from the ZnO thin films was found to be 0.124. The Eg(0) value obtained from the fitting was 3.37 eV, with ${\alpha}=3.3{\times}10^{-2}eV/K$ and ${\beta}=8.6{\times}10^3K$. The low- and high-temperature activation energies were 9 and 28 meV, respectively. The exciton radiative lifetime of the ZnO thin films showed a non-linear behavior, which was established using a quadratic equation.

  • Open-cross-section composite beam (OCB) tends to suffer vortex-induced vibration (VIV) due to its bluff aerodynamic shape. A cable-stayed bridge equipped with typical OCB is taken as an example in this paper to conduct sectional model wind tunnel test. Vortex-induced vibration is observed and maximum vibration amplitudes are obtained. CFD approach is employed to calculate the flow field around original cross sections in service stage and construction stage, as well as sections added with three different countermeasures: splitters, slabs and wind fairings. Results show that flow separate on the upstream edge and cause vortex shedding on original section. Splitters can only smooth the flow field on the upper surface, while slabs cannot smooth flow field on the upper or lower surface too much. Thus, splitters or slabs cannot serve as valid aerodynamic means. Wind tunnel test results show that VIV can only be mitigated when wind fairings are mounted, by which the flow field above and below the bridge deck are accelerated simultaneously.

  • High energy Photon beam has a sharp beam margin due to a less side scatter and the other things. But there still remains a penumbra where the dose changes rapidly in the region near the edge of a radiation beam, although it is short in width. It is suggested that the width of the penumbra depends on the source size, distance from source to diaphragm, source to skin distance, and depth in tissue. However, it is also supposed that the other factors influence the penumbra width. In this paper, we investigate changes of the physical penumbra widths according to various field sizes and depths, by using the three dimensional dosimetry system. As a result, we found that as field size and depth increase, the physical penumbra width also increases.
