열차폐 코팅층의 고온 열충격 시험후 ECT를 이용한 결함 평가 (Evaluation of Defects of Thermal Barrier Coatings by Thermal Shock Test Using Eddy Current Testing)

  • 열차폐 코팅 시편에 대하여 열충격을 주기적으로 가한 후 발생하는 결함을 관찰하였다. 실험에 사용 된 열차폐 코팅 시편은 인코넬-738로 제작된 모재 위에 CoNiCrAlY 본드 코팅층과 $ZrO_2-8wt%Y_2O_3$ 세라믹탑 코팅층이 플라즈마 용사 방법으로 올려진 형태로 되어있다. 열충격 시험은 $1000^{\circ}C$의 고온으로 가열했다가 상온으로 급격하게 냉각시키는 가혹한 조건으로 실행되었고, 사이클 수가 증가함에 따라 열충격의 피로도 또한 증가하였다. 시험후 시편 내부의 미세 조직 변화와 결함을 전자현미경으로 관찰하고, 시편의 기계적인 특성을 측정하여 그 변화 양상을 살펴보았다. 열충격 주기실험후 본드 코팅층과 세라믹 탑 코팅층 사이에 발생하는 TGO 산화물층에 대한 변화 양상과 이에 대한 와전류 신호를 측정하여 TGO층 성장 거동의 비파괴적인 평가를 위한 실험을 진행하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 마이크로 단위의 TGO층에 대한 와전류검사의 적용 가능성을 확인하고 열차폐 코팅의 수명을 예측할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하였다.

철도차량용 회전형 축소모델 선형유도전동기의 운전모드 연구 (A Study on an Operation Mode of a Rotary-type Small-scaled LIM for Railway Transit)

  • Authors design a rotary-type small-scaled linear induction motor(LIM) and a performance test machine before manufacturing a real-scaled LIM for a railway transit. The designed LIM is a single-sided, short primary type and its primary has 4 poles. The rated power is 10(kW). In order to analyze characteristics of the LIM, authors use a mixed 2D-3D FEM analysis. 3-D FEM analysis is used for calculating a distribution of eddy-current on the semi-caped AL-sheet of the secondary reaction. Authors calculate a correction factor of conductivity and an equivalent conductivity on the secondary AL-sheet using a normalized eddy-current. The equivalent conductivity which is calculated in this way includes a transverse edge-effect of the LIM. Authors apply the equivalent conductivity on the secondary AL-sheet of 2D-FEM model and get performance characteristics of the LIM. Basic characteristics such as thrust and normal force, input current, efficiency and power factor of the LIM have been analyzed with the variation of frequency and speed. In order to apply an air-gap control system, the variation of the basic characteristics have been analyzed with the air-gap length variation of the LIM. Finally, authors introduce an operation mode using the air-gap control system and conduct a research on feasibility of the system.

한국형 고속전철의 기계 제동력 측정 방법 (Measurement of Mechanical Braking Force for KHST)

  • Korean high speed train (KHST) has adopted a combined electric/ mechanic (friction) braking system. Electric brakes are consist of rheostatic brake, regenerative brake and eddy current brake and mechanical brakes are composed of disc brake, wheel disc brake and tread brake. In this paper, we introduce the braking performance test and the measuring method of mechanical brake. And disc brake performance has been reviewed by the experimental method. The on-line test of KHST has been carried out up to 260 km/h and proved that the disc braking capacity of KHST is sufficient.

비접촉식 진동 변위센서의 특성에 관한 연구 (Study on characteristics of noncontact vibrating displacement sensor)

  • This thesis is about the result of conducting a specific experiment for the development of noncontact vibration displacement sensor for measuring the spindle vibration that is used for conditional monitoring of machinery. One should be careful when using the eddy current type displacement sensor because the sensitivity of it is different according to the quality of the material. While the probe used for nondestructive inspection adopts the effect of transmitting the material by using the high frequency domain, the eddy current type displacement sensor uses the lower frequency of around 1MHz. Also, while the nondestructive probe uses the method of enhancing output by using the resonance zone, the vibration displacement sensor utilizes the stable zone by avoiding the resonance zone. Since the oscillator of the converter uses the "L" element as Probe, its characteristic changes with the variation of a relevant impedance. In other words, if the length of Probe's Cable gets extended (Impedance increase), the sensitivity declines accordingly. The effect of surrounding temperature was small, but the influence of the quality of Sensor Coil used was high. Moreover, following an experimental demonstration of the phenomenon where the sensitivity decreases as the frequency of the tested material increases from a frequency response test, the maximum frequency that could be measured was approximately 1KHz. It was noted that the degree of precision could be maintained by using the gap of the probe in the linear zone at the installation site.

  • 증기발생기 전열관에서 1차측 응력부식균열의 발생빈도가 증가하고 있으므로 이의 정확한 탐지와 평가를 위해서는 균열 형상에 따른 와전류 신호특성을 규명하고 적합한 탐촉자를 선정하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 증기발생기 전열관의 내면 축방향 균열에 대한 와전류 검사의 검출능과 크기예측에 대한 신뢰도를 정량적으로 평가하고 pancake coil과 plus coil과의 신호특성 차이를 비교하였다. 이를 위하여 전열관 내면에 EDM으로 노치를 가공한 시편과 실제 증기발생기에서 1차측 응력부식균열이 발생하여 인출한 전열관을 시험편으로 사용하였다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 결과를 토대로 내면 축방향 균열에 대한 와전류 검사 신뢰도 향상을 위한 방안을 제시하였다.

Plus(+) Point Probe를 이용한 용접부 와전류검사 (Eddy Current Testing of Weldment by Plus(+) Point Probe)

  • 발전설비를 구성하는 주요 기기중 펌프, 발브, 배관 등의 용접부에 발생할 수 있는 균열 등의 결함을 검출하기 위한 plus-point 와전류검사탐촉자를 설계하여 결함을 검출하고 그 크기를 측정할 수 있는 검사기법을 연구하였다. 차동형 모드로 운전되는 plus-point 와전류탐촉자는 2개의 "I"자형 코일 이 십자형태로 교차되어 있으며, 탐촉자와 시험체 표면사이의 lift-off 변화에 의한 영향이 재래식 표면 탐촉자에 비해서 작게 발생하는 특징이 있다. 결함에 대한 탐촉자 반응을 평가하기 위해서 304 스텐 인레스강 용접부에 인공결함인 균열성 노치를 방전가공하여 시험편을 제작하였으며, 이를 활용하여 plus-point 와전류탐촉자의 결함 검출, 종류 판별 및 크기를 측정 할 수 있는 기법을 연구하였다.

증기발생기 전열관 2차측 응력부식균열의 실험실적 모사 방법 (Laboratorial technique for fabrication of outer diameter stress corrosion cracking on steam generator tubing)

  • In this work, it is aimed to develop the fabrication method of axial stress corrosion cracking (SCC) defects having various sizes, on the outer diameter surface of the steam generator (SG) tubings. To control the length of the artificial SCC defect, the specific area of the SG tubing samples was exposed to an acidic solution after a sensitization heat treatment. During the exposure to an acidic solution, a direct current potential drop (DCPD) method was adopted to monitor the crack depth. The size of the SCC defect was first evaluated by an eddy current test (ECT), and then confirmed by a destructive examination. From the comparison, it was found that the actual crack length was well controlled to be similar to the length of the surface exposed to an acidic solution (5, 10, 20 or 30 mm in this work) with small standard deviation. From in-situ monitoring of the crack depth using the DCPD method, it was possible to distinguish a non-through wall crack from a through wall crack, even though the depth of the non-through wall crack was not able to be precisely controlled. The fabrication method established in this work was useful to simulate the SCC defect having similar size and ECT signals as compared to the field cracks in the SG tubings of the operating Korean PWRs.

와전류시험에 의한 조사핵연료봉의 결함 검사 (The Defect Inspection on the Irradiated Fuel Rod by Eddy Current Test)

  • 핵연료봉의 결함 탐상을 위하여 차동환상형 와전류시험 탐촉자를 설계 및 제작하여, 핵연료봉 시험을 위한 최적 시험 조건을 구하였다. 관통결함, 내부결함, 외부결함을 낸 표준시편에 대하여 와전류시험을 수행함으로써 시험 주파수와 출력 신호의 위상 및 크기에 대한 상관 관계를 구하였다. 이를 토대로 하여 고리원자력 1호기에서 연소한 핵연료봉 G33-N2에 대하여 와전류시험을 수행하여 관통결함 신호를 얻었다. 와전류시험에서 관통결함으로 예측된 위치에서 금속조직시험을 수행하여 얻은 결과는 와전류시험 결과와 잘 일치하였다. 따라서 와전류시험법은 조사핵연료봉의 피복관에 대한 건전성을 평가하는 도구로써 그 신뢰성이 양호함을 실증하였다.

A Novel Flexible PCB Conductive Structure for Electrodynamic Bearings and Measurement in its Induced Voltage

  • This paper proposes the concept of FlexPCB(flexible Printed Circuit Board) conductive structure for electrodynamic bearings. It has three main advantages: easy “printing” of considerably thin conductive wires, resulting in potential reduction in stray eddy currents; realization of specific conductive configurations with high precision to optimize the eddy current flowing; simplicity in being wound to cylinders or hollow cylinders of different diameters. To verify this new concept, the FlexPCB conductive structure was manufactured, an axial electrodynamic bearing test rig was built and the conductive structure's induced voltage was measured along the axial displacements from 0mm to 56mm at three rotating speeds. The finite element method was used to calcuatlate the flux density of electrodynamic bearing and induced voltage of the FlexPCB conductive structure. The experimental results are compared with the results from the FEM calculation. It is concluded that the measured and calculated induced voltages have consistency in the middle part of the bearing.

원전 증기 발생기 전열관 검사 자동화를 위한 지능형 통합 시스템 개발 (Development of an intelligent and integrated system for automatic inspection of steam-generator tubes in nuclear power plant)

  • This paper presents a new eddy current testing system for inspecting tubes of steam generator in nuclear power plant. The proposed system adopted embedded expert system concept to automate tasks of the inspection such as inspection planning and flaw signal interpretation, and integrated all the tasks into a client/server type computing architecture using database management system. Therefore, human factor errors occurred during inspection could be minimized and the inspection data could be transferred in real-time. As a result, we can increase the level of inspection confidence and the productivity of a personal inspector. A prototype of the proposed system has been developed for 5 years and the test operation has been performed in domestic nuclear power plants.
