The purpose of this study is to evaluate efficiency by the Life Cycle Cost(LCC) analysis of floor covering materials for remodeling. This study has been performed as a case study. The LCC analysis is a technique which takes account into both initial-future costs and benefits of an investment over some period of time. LCC is important in commercial decision making because it provides improved assessment of the living-term cost effectiveness of construction projects as well as alternative economic methods that focus on initial costs. For LCC analysis and comparison, the present value technique is used. The results of this study are summarized as follows; (1) A LCC analysis model of floor covering materials is suggested through a case study (2) As a result of LCC case study, the type of sheet is analysed more economical than that of tile in floor covering materials.
HTS (High Temperature Superconducting) Transformer has the several useful characteristics in the viewpoints of technical and economical. Especially, an HTS transformer replaces the copper wire coils in a conventional transformer with lower loss HTS wire In addition, inexpensive, environmentally benign liquid nitrogen replaces the conventional oil as the electrical insulation (dielectric) and provides the necessary cooling for the HTS transformer Therefore, the Life-cycle cost of an HTS transformer is much more attractive than conventional because it is more energy efficient, lighter in weight, smaller in size, and environmentally compliant. HTS transformer can be the best way to replace with conventional transformer in the future. In this paper, we investigate the expected price of HTS transformer to have a merit in viewpoint of economic aspect. First, life-cycle cost of conventional transformer is calculated and based on this, the expected price of HTS transformer is evaluated, which HTS transformer is competitive against conventional transformer.
This study analyzed the effect of Greenhouse of wood pellet fuel conversing from Diesel. Analyzed through a life cycle assessment of greenhouse gas emissions of carbon dioxide for the environmental assessment, In evaluation of the Ministry of the Environment, analyzed through the life cycle assessment of carbon dioxide emissions of the greenhouse gas and, In the case of economic evaluation, we analyzed the investment payback period to the total revenue generated by each of the calculated incentive based on the RHI and institutions reduction projects a reduction of costs associated with the reduction of fuel costs.

Before urban railway vehicles reach their design life-span, operating agencies should determine when to buy new vehicles. Previous LCC (Life Cycle Cost) studies were limited because they independently focused on existing vehicles based on costs that directly impacted only the operating agency without considering effects such as social costs and the reduction of maintenance costs. Thus, it is difficult to systematically determine when to buy new vehicles. This study investigated the operating and maintenance related costs, especially from additional expenses and social costs due to unexpected vehicle failures and safety accidents, and did an economic analysis of scenarios with different discount rates. Considering that the public is very concerned about safety after the Sewol ferry accident, additional costs, which include social costs, should be included in the analysis. This study shows that the economic priority of scenarios may change depending on whether those costs are included and on the discount rate. The results of this study can help in the decision-making process for the planning and buying of new trains.

Construction industry pays attention to modular construction recently which based on factory production not on labor intensive site production. Since modular construction has high time shortening effect and easiness of demolition and recycling, it has been applied to the temporary residential building. Domestic modular construction market are not activated yet, however, due to the high initial cost to realize modular construction. This study proposes demand-sensitized movable modular building in order to reduce the financial burden. The study compares between RC method building and Modular building which moves building when the demand falls off from Life-Cycle Cost's viewpoint. As a result of the economical evaluation, RC method achieved profits faster than Modular model, but Modular model's gross earnings during the life-cycle are much bigger than RC method. In other words, the result means that the market-sensitized movement of the modular building would be an economci choice in Life-Cycle Costing aspect.

The purpose of this study is to analyze and compare the life cycle cost of window glass with insulation film and regular glass, to verify an economical window construction method. As an approach method, the thermal performance data of each type of glass was measured using Window 6.3 and ECO2-OD Simulation Program, applied it to the case building to calculate the air conditioning and heating maintenance costs and LCC, and compared the economic feasibility. As a result, installing an additional insulation film prevents the solar heat penetration in the summer, so it reduces the cooling cost, on the other hand, it increased heating cost in winter. From the life cycle cost perspective, the effect of cooling cost reduction does not counterbalance the increase in heating cost and the additional cost from film installation and repair; therefore, the installation of insulation film may not be a proper method.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify social support networks for each life-cycle stage of adults. Method: A total of 1,047 subjects included 454 young adults, 262 middle-aged adults and 331 senior adults. Data were collected using Oh's Korean Version Norbeck's Social Support Questionnaire (NSSQ), and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, and ANOVA. Result: For the young adults, parents were the top and second priority as important social support resources, the third was siblings, and then friends. For the middle-aged, spouse was the first priority as an important social support resource, while the second and the third were children. For the senior adults, children ranked from the top to the seventh priority. The mean number of social support resources was 13.23 for the young adult, 12.93 for the middle-aged and 5.30 for the senior adults. Social support networks of the young adults significantly differed according to gender and marital status. That of the middle-aged significantly differed according to family size. In addition, that of the senior adults was significantly different according to marital status, economic status, religion and family size. Conclusion: It is essential to consider social support networks for each life-cycle stage of adults when making a social support intervention program.

As development of battery technologies, the installation of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) increased. The BESS can be used for various purposes such like frequency response, load leveling, and fluctuation mitigation of renewable energy generators. In this paper, three state BESS model is proposed. the BESS model considering charge, discharge and keeping efficiency, and life cycle according to depth of discharge (DOD). Then, the benefit and cost of BESS installed at substation for load leveling are summarized. The economic evaluation of BESS is analyzed using net present values (NPV) analysis. In case study, the NPV analysis of NaS battery system is carried out using the proposed BESS model. Because the result of economic evaluation of BESS using nowadays cost data is not positive, the sensitivity analysis of BESS is conducted by changing the capital cost and energy cost.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the changes of housing characteristics and the degree of attainment of housing norms. The major findings are as follows: 1) There are significant differences in changes of housing characteristics. A size of house and the number of room have been improved according to hosing experience and housing expects. Type of tenure has been improved according to housing experience and housing expects. Type of tenure has been improved gradually according to moving. The family with higher socio-economic status prefers apartments. Although about a half of household hopes to live in a high-rising apartments. more than 40 persentage of the household still hopes to live in single detached houses. As a result apartment are though not to satisfy their housing well-being 2) As socio-economic status is higher and family life cycle is longer the degree of their attainment of housing norms appear higher. The household attaining higher housing norms has the higher housing satisfaction but needs to move is lower The family attains housing norms as the following orders: type of tenure\longrightarrowtype of house\longrightarrowthe nmber of rooms\longrightarrowa size of house.
This study evaluated the economic benefits by comparing Cooling-Heating System with the existing system in the public library. The building's annual energy consumption was measured by adding the figures of the absorber chillers, the air conditioners and heaters in the building. The total amount of annual energy consumption was 143.51RT in air-conditioning and 83.66RT in heating. So, We made the capacity of geothermal heat pumps three 50RTs in order to check up this system. In order to estimate each construction and equipment cost and to evaluate economical efficiency, LCC(Life Cycle Cost) method was used and the service life of the building was sixty years. The result of analysis was that the geothermal cooling-heating system was more efficient than the existing system in public library.
