Public Diplomacy (PD) is the third pillar of South Korean foreign policy. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, PD aims to attract foreign audiences by means of art, knowledge transmission, media, language and foreign aid. When it comes to the Korean language, its global profile has seen an especially marked increase in recent years (Kim, 2009). Thus, this paper's objective is to explain the relevance of the Korean language in the generation of South Korea's soft power. I draw from $C{\acute{e}}sar$ Villanueva's reflections in order to problematize how language promotion can be translated into soft power at five different levels: the empathetic, the sympathetic, the geopolitical, the diplomatic and the utilitarian. I observe that in the case of the Korean language in Mexico City, soft power has the potential to be generated on three levels: it helps to increase knowledge of Korean culture (empathetic); it exercises symbolic persuasion (geopolitical), since the products of cultural industries are mostly in Korean; and it is used as a tool for economic transactions in Mexico City (utilitarian).

With the aid of advanced structural engineering, the construction of infrastructures has been recently accelerating to keep up with rapid economic growth. Construction activities and operation of transportation facilities cause civil petitions associated with vibration-induced damages or nuisances. As part of the decrease of vibration induced damage, the objective of this study is to develop vibration-controlled concrete with vibration-reduced materials, which can be recycled from obsolete materials, such as aged tires, plastics and etc. Appropriate mix proportion has been used for making 10 reinforced concrete panels with vibration-reduced materials, which have been tested to investigate on vibration reduction capability, based on the time and frequency domain analysis, and vibration velocity level analysis. Vibration-reduced mixtures are latex, styrofoam, rubber powder and plastic resin, which have been determined to by reduce vibration.

Recently, there has been a constant barrage of worms over the Internet. Besides threatening network security, these worms create an enormous economic burden in terms of loss of productivity not only for the victim hosts, but also for other hosts, as these worms create unnecessary network traffic. Further, measures taken to filter these worms at the router level incur additional network delays because of the extra burden placed on the routers. To develop appropriate tools for thwarting the quick spread of worms, researchers are trying to understand the behavior of worm propagation with the aid of epidemiological models. In this study, we present an optimization model that takes into account infection and treatment costs. Using this model we can determine the level of treatment to be applied for a given rate of infection spread.
This article reviewed the epidemic characteristics of AIDS during the period of 1985-1993 and its socio economic implications in Korea. Reviewing the meaning aid task of balance of regional development, this papa examines the causes of the underdevelopment of rural areas in relation to the urbanization process, probes the concept, principle and necessity of rural community development, and suggests the policy tasks for rural community development in the perspective of regionally balanced development. Since 1960's, Korea has pursued a growth-oriented economic policy. The focus on the aggregated growth, however, has resulted bo invite some regional disparity problems. In the process of development, regional disparity problems were quite a large rural areas compared with urban areas relatively. The under-development of rural areas is deeply correlated with the overcrowding (or overconcentration) phenomena of urban(or metropolitan) areas. The urban-biased policy is the primary cause of the deepening regional imbalance structure between urban and rural areas. The inter-regions equitable and well-balanced development is one of the national policy issues by which the government is confronted, since the issue is closely related with national quality of life. Main three policy tasks for rural community development were 'the new paradigm of development policy' , 'local-oriented policy' and 'human-oriented policy'.
The major economic health problem of dairy cattle is mastitis which can affect 10 to 50% of cow-quarters. This health problem is difficult for many dairy farmers and health advisors to understand, diagnose and control. Without special laboratory testing, most mastitis is overlooked. Estimates of annual mastitis cast per cow vary from $50 to $200. For the nearly 9 million cows in the United States, annual loss to the dairy industry amounts to over one billion. A knowledge-based decision aid has been developed to evaluate mastitis data retrieved electronically from two of nine U. S. regional dairy records processing centers. Heuristic rules to diagnose herd mastitis problems were collected and incorporated into the system from various domain experts. This system information. It allows users to select mastitis control schemes with various degrees of aggressiveness and teaches commonly accepted mastitis control practices.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the living reality of jjok-bang residents of Sipjeong-dong, Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, and find measures of community social work to support them. Based on the precedent research on jjok-bang's creation, characteristics, and lifestyle of its residents, this study presents the results of an interview survey addressed to 132 residents living in 216 Sipjeong1-dong, Bupyeong-gu, the largest jjok-bang area in Incheon. The research was conducted by ten members of the "Sunshine" Community Center of Sipjeong-dong with constructed questionnaire. Results indicated that 74.2% of the participants were female, and 56.1% aged over 60. Despite the poor living conditions, 77% of them hoped to reside in jjok-bang continually and the most urgent problems to be resolved were housing environment, economic problems such as unemployment and a shortage of welfare facilities. The study emphasizes jjok-bang as a place of home for the residents and advocating both individual and community efforts to ameliorate the local environment of jjok-bang.
Due to the increasing interest in natural biopolymers including chitin, the exploitation of economic and easily accessible chitin sources with good physicochemical properties is nowadays required. In view of this fact, in the current study chitin was extracted and physicochemically characterized from six Cicadas (Hemiptera: Homoptera: Cicadoidea) species collected from Mediterranean region of Turkey (2014-15). Chitin was extracted using a classic extraction method that includes acid and base treatment. TGA results revealed a remarkable increase ($410-412^{\circ}C$) for all the six Cicada species compared to other chitin samples extracted from various sources. For all of the six selected species the chitin contents on the dry basis were determined as 6.7% for Cicadatra atra, 5.51% for C. hyalina, 8.84% for C. platyptera, 4.97% for Cicada lodosi, 6.49% for C. mordoganensis, and 5.88% for Cicadetta tibialis. The surface morphology of chitin isolates from Cicada species was observed to consist of nanofibers and nanopores.
As Indonesia is rich in natural resources, nuclear power remains a low priority among energy alternatives. However, Indonesia needs to introduce nuclear power to improve the atmospheric environment and to support sustainable economic growth. This study conducted a two-stage survey of logit-probit and analytic hierarchy process to analyze the perception of Indonesian energy policymakers regarding the introduction of nuclear power, the potential for change, and key decision factors. The analysis confirms that the perception of nuclear power is positive and that the willingness to expand nuclear power can improve if negative conditions, such as underdeveloped technology level, foreign aid and assistance, and safety issues are addressed. In addition, it is confirmed that the policy makers consider political/social and environmental factors to be more important for decision-making. The results of this study can give inplications and be used as a key reference for Indonesia's nuclear power policy
In Korea, confectionery refers to biscuits, snacks, chocolate, candy and gum. The first sweet in Korea is the Yumilkwa (oil-and-honey pastry) in the Goryeo Dynasty which was mentioned in history book, and is seen to be popular in medieval Korea. Korea's confectionery industry began in 1945 with the aid of the U.S. forces, Haitai Confectionery company produced sweets. The first confectionery product is 'Yeon yang gang'. In the 1970s and 1980s, the confectionery industry developed along with economic growth in Korea, and many of the products released at this time are still loved. Now the domestic market is saturated, sales of domestic confectionery companies are decreasing due to low-priced offers made by importers. It is necessary to develop products with high quality and brand power that can lead the market, and I think it is necessary to target the undeveloped market like the Halal market.
