Recycling of coal combustion by-product(Ash) are becoming more improtant in the utilization business as a result of the increased use of NOx reduction technologies at coal-fired power plants. Current disposal methods of these by-products create not only a loss of profit for the power industry, but also environmental concerns that breed negative public opinion. This research made Precast block for environment-friendly secondary product and compare strength special quality of this block with existent common use brick and analyze application possibility in situ with a reserve experiment that measure strength property and manufacture method to handle coal ash produced in Bo-ryung thermoelectric power plant.
In recent years, extreme rainfall and rainy seasons caused by climate change have caused river flooding and flooding damage, and it is urgent to solve economic and environmental problems in the city center due to the increase in the number of peak homes. The gap block, called the fitting block, is designed to facilitate rainwater pitching by forming a gap between the block and the block by forming a concave part and a protrusion of the block differently without the use of an existing spacer. In this study, for the production of such a gap block, the existing cement content was reduced and aramid fibers and exploration fibers, which are industrial by-products such as Goroslag fine powder and reinforcing fibers, were applied.

In the recent 2017 annual average fine dust concentration (PM2.5) statistics released by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Korea has a high concentration of 25.14㎍/m3, which is about twice the average of 12.5㎍/m3 in OECD countries. Fine dust (PM2.5) is the main source of secondary pollutant production by the reaction of primary pollutants emitted from automobiles and thermal power plants, mainly composed of sulfates, nitrates, and organic carbon. The permeable block is an eco-friendly product that prevents rainwater from collecting on the surface of the road because it does not penetrate the groundwater properly, and is widely constructed on sidewalks or parking lots to recharge groundwater in case of rain. In addition, the pavement of the permeable block is a fundamental solution to reduce pollution by preventing rainwater from flowing into the stream, and it also has the advantage of easy replacement as well as low replacement costs. Therefore, this study was a basic experiment to produce permeable blocks mixed with TiO2 and diatomite to improve indoor air quality, and intended to analyze the flexural strength and compressive strength of permeable blocks mixed with TiO2.

Since 1960, the green area has decreased due to rapid urbanization and the artificial surface has increased, and the repair and water function of the previous surface has decreased due to the decrease in rainwater absorption capacity. In addition, the risk of carbon dioxide and fine dust is emerging due to the use of fossil fuels due to urbanization. As a result, permeable blocks, an eco-friendly product, are in the spotlight. Therefore, this study was conducted to examine the strength properties of the permeable block using a hydroball. As a result of the experiment, the flexural strength and compressive strength tended to decrease as the hydroball replacement rate increased. It is judged that the hydroball absorbs a large amount of moisture during the mixing process and lacks moisture required for curing, resulting in a decrease in strength. According to KS F 4419, since the hydroball replacement rate is satisfied up to 20%, further research is needed to analyze the adsorption performance of air pollutants in the future and evaluate their utilization as a permeable block in the future.

Most of current building materials are made of organic compounds or at least made with chemical treatments. Though easy to use and comparatively pay less, those materials are generally not enviornmentally sound. VOC is one of harmful effects. On contrary, natural materials such as soil are usually eco-friendly, and environmentally sustainable as well if not treated in autoclaves. Acoustica materials made of such environmentally sound and sustainable could be widely used. It is aimed to prove that soil based materials could be effectively used in acoustical fields rather than the other usual materials. Experiments with various types of soil blocks and soil plaster were performed. It is proved that the soil plaster has better apsorption features than cement plaster. Soil blocks have higher absorption cofficients than soil plaster, due to the thickness, and the absorption characteristics can be controlled by the design of the blocks.

Environmental pollution problems are occurring due to the negative treatment of basalt waste in Jeju Island. This study identifies the characteristics of permeable block with basalt with physical and chemical adsorption mechanisms and examines their applicability and functionality as building materials. This experiment is basic data for evaluating the functionality of the permeable block by analyzing flexural strength, compressive strength, permeability coefficient, carbon dioxide, and fine dust adsorption rate by producing a permeable block using a basalt waste rock. As the basalt waste stone replacement rate increased, the flexural strength and compressive strength tended to decrease, and as the replacement rate increased, the water permeability coefficient, absorption rate, carbon dioxide, and fine dust adsorption rate tended to increase. Therefore, it is judged that the permeable block using the basalt waste rock is superior to the existing permeable block.

With the signing of the Paris Agreement, which is the new climate change agreement at the end of 2015, it will have a great impact on Korea environmental policy. The construction industry, which accounts for 42% of Korea's total $CO_2$ emissions, has been implementing various policies to improve the environmental problems. However, it is only applying passively to other projects except eco-friendly building certification. This is because most of the eco-related systems are based on building facilities. Therefore, there is a need for a new eco - friendly design evaluation model that can be widely applied not only to architecture but also to civil engineering facilities. In this study, a new model is developed based on the existing VE model, which adds new factors to evaluate the environmental friendliness, potential environmental pollution concept and environmental risk of facilities. This model is an eco-friendly design evaluation model that enables decision makers to effectively select alternative environmental criteria at the design stage. As a result of the case analysis of the block retaining wall and the alternative retaining wall, the value of the eco - friendly value of the alternative was 1.026 times higher than the original one. If this model is used at the design stage, it is expected to contribute not only to the construction of environmentally friendly facilities but also to the reduction of carbon emissions.
Korean traditional houses have been developed in harmony with natural environment and comfortable indoor condition by using the natural resources including building layout, space composition and materials. Originally Korea traditional architectures have used wood lintel constructions and loess walls through the many years. Theses loess have many strength such as highly heat capacity, controling of humidity, a deodorant than any other materials. Nowaday it is recommended to use exterior and interior walls in loess wall to meet the eco-friendly materials to improve our residental environmental. Thus this study aims to research the sound insulation performance of traditional loess brick wall varied with thickness, thermal insulation materials and cavity wall. The sound insulation performance of these loess walls are compared with other masonry wall's and sound insulation performance of th walls were tested in anechoic laboratory to measure the sound transmission loss of these walls. The loess brick wall with 75mm thickness of cavity is shown the sound insulation performance with Rw 57 which is nearly same performances of 1B brick wall and cement 8' block wall, The improving effect of insulation materials is shown in the high frequency bandwidth. Especially, there is improving as much as 11 dB using the extruded poly stylene form(75mm) and poly ethylene film(0.7mm).

The purpose of this study is to examine the hydraulic stability of non-toxic revetment technique for eco-friendly design of the domestic river restoration. Recently, instead of the flood control function-oriented river management policy for the engineering efficiency, the improvement of the environmental performance for the ecological river restoration project is implemented. However, the inappropriate hydraulic design criteria of the new revetment technique happen to the economic losses at flood season frequently. The hydraulic stability of the riprap and the block include the banks of rivers, riverbed protection, scour protection and so on. In this study, the high speed experimental channel was developed, which has the maximum velocity of 3.5 m/s, to perform the hydraulic experiments of the block method with non-toxic glue with various conditions to find the critical velocity of the revetment block for the hydraulic stability.
