  • Two colour(B & V) photoelectric observations of EB-type eclipsing binary GO Cyg were carried out for 15 nights during October and December 1996. Three new times of minimum derived from our own observations are presented. With these and previously published times, the period variation is studied, and a continuous period increase of $dP/dt{\approx}1.51{\times}10^{-7}d/yr$ is estimated from the quadratic ephemeris.

  • Long period eclipsing binary 32 Cygni was photometrically observed in 1992 at Yonsei University Observatory. Instrumental differential magnitude and standardized magnitude of this star show some intrinsic light variations. Some possible explanations will be discussed. BVRI photometric observations show that 30 Cyg may be a variable star. A further monitoring of 30 Cyg is therefore called for justification of such evidences.

  • UBV observations have been made jointly at three observatories for the recent eclipse of the long period atmospheric eclipsing binary star Zeta Aur in 1995-6. Observations covered successfully the phases before, during, and after the eclipse enable us to determine the accurate time of mid-eclipse and the duration of the totality. The hypothesis of the expansion of the K supergiant has been tested and the positive conclusion may be derived.

  • The photometric orbital elements of an Algol-type eclipsing variable, DI Pegasi, are derived by means of Fourier transforms from two-color photoelectric observations. The system shows a long term variation of its orbital period, which is interpreted as due to a continuing mass loss mechanism from the secondary component. Physical dimensions and a model of the system are also suggested here.

  • Surface activity of the late-type supergiant component of $\zeta$ Aurtype eclipsing binary 32 Cyg has been searched in R and I passbands for 53 nights in the 1991 season. Atmospheric extinctions in these wavelength regions are made and a linear relation between the two coefficients has been found. All the data are standardized and determined the magnitudes and colors of 32 Cyg. R, I and color curves of 32 Cyg at the outside eclipse phase are presented.

  • The photometric behaviour of XY U Ma, an eclipsing binary showing photospheric and chromospheric activity, has been described by spot hypothesis. They are based on the all the available UBV light curves, which were carried out by Geyer since 1955. A "spherical rectangular" spot model shows very pronounced spot activities during the last 30 years. On the average, the spot covered about 16% of the visible hemisphere. Observational evidence for photospheric and chromospheric activities on the XY UMa and related systems are also discussed.

  • Some Algol-type interacting binary stars exhibit strange photometric variations that can be phase-dependent and/or secular. This paper discusses the possibility of explaining these observed variations as resulting from an accretion structure eclipsing one or both of the stars. Some previous studies are reviewed and suggestions for future work are made, including the prospective of incorporating data from the Kepler Observatory.
