The ground resistance has been used as a method of estimating the capability of counterpoise. When transient currents blow through a ground electrode, it is reasonable to evaluate the performance of ground electrode system as a ground impedance instead of ground resistance. However, the measurement method of ground impedance for counterpoise is not clearly presented. This paper describes the measurement method of ground impedance considering the earth mutual resistances and AC mutual coupling. When we measure the ground impedance, the error due to earth mutual resistances depends on the distance between the auxiliary electrodes and the electrode under test. The measurement accuracy of high frequency ground impedance is mainly influenced by the location of the current electrode and the potential electrode.

A new earth pressure equation acting on the vertical shafts in cohesionless soils has been proposed by modifying the equations proposed by others. In order to verify the modified equation, model tests which can control uniform wall displacement with depth to radial direction were conducted. Model tests were performed with three different wall friction angles and two different relative densities. The measured values were larger than estimated values when assuming $\lambda=1$ ; smaller than those when assuming $\lambda=1-sin\phi$. The parameter, $\lambda$ is the ratio of tangential stress to vertical stress and is the most critical value in proposed equation. A method which can estimate the earth pressure on vertical shafts in layered soils is also proposed by reasonably assuming the failure surface of layered soils and using the modified equation. In order to verify the proposed method, in-situ measurement data have been collected from the three in-situ vertical shafts installed in layered soils. Most of earth pressures converted from measured data match reasonably well with estimated values using proposed method.

Water covers 70% of the earth's surface and the human body consist of 75% of it. It is clear that water is one of the prime elements responsible for life on earth. Over the last 30 years or so, numerous studies have attempted to find out more about the water microscopically. In this paper, we investigated how the receding and advancing contact angle of the moving water droplet changes on a solid surface having various LJ epsilon parameters. To observe the dynamic contact angle history, a body force applied to all water molecules after obtained the water droplet in equilibrium with the solid surface. We obtained the density profile and receding and advancing contact angle of the moving water droplet

In the present age, the quality of MT(magnetotellurics) data highly depends on the level of industrial interference in data. We analyzed the correlation between the spatial distributions of man-made EM noise source and the characteristics of MT data. The noise source analysis shows the correlation between the noise source density and the power spectral density of measured magnetic field in the frequency band of 60 Hz harmonics. In the MT 'dead band', the strong polarization observed on the magnetic field reveals that the severe artificial noises are caused by the adjacent metropolis.

Since the beginning of the human world, man has tried to prove his presence on the earth. Wherever he moved, he left his marks in different forms. Whether he lived in caves, in open spaces or in-built structures, he left evidence in art form, the earliest of which are the cave paintings found in various regions of the world. These transformed into open spaces where man carved and painted images and writings on rock faces and boulders. Although Pakistan provided an early home to such art forms, they have been discovered in Kashmir for the first time and will be revealed in this paper. In the present survey, a great number of rock art sites were found and documented in detail. These rock art sites display the earliest communities who settled down or traveled through the region, highlighting their thoughts, beliefs and practices. The tentative chronology of these rock art sites ranges from Neolithic to Hindu periods, creating an interesting mosaic in the historic profile of Kashmir.

This study is to analyze the geometrical composition system for the plan of S. Pietro by Michelangelo. In the result of study, the plan is based on the geometrical elements of circle square cross, and shaped to symbolize the Universe which consists of the Heaven the Earth the Man. The plan is constituted of the conception of composition into hierarchy and repetition intersecting 45 degree the same sized square with inscribed square in a circle. Such the geometrical composition system can be found out a large number of example to the geometrical composition of architecture and city planning from Vitruvius to Bramante and Da Vinci. This plan is disposed in balance as the regularly proportional system of 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, which is formed the principal space. And the interior space is constituted of the organic space system, expanding to the direction of horizontal, vertical(ascension), development for primary space and secondary space with center in the geometric composition system of altar.

^x This paper focuses on clarifying the diverse conceptions of landscape, of which ambiguity gives rise to confusion to the theory and practice of landscape architecture. Landscape in the form of landscipe has once indicated land, a defined space or a humanized environment, cultivated and inhabited for the purpose of biological sustenance of ordinary people. With the advent of landschap(landscape) painting, its concept moved from the real world to the scenery, a prospect, 'a portion of earth's surface that can be seen at once by a man who is himself upon the surface. 'Once appeared, it remained as a central concept until the 19th century when the modern land-scape architecture, which claims to stand for the democratic planning and environmental design, emerged. However, it still survives as the most popular concept :a landscape is a man-made, beautiful scene. To the contrary, the geographers hold that a landscape is not an actual scene viewed by a particular observer, but is a generalization induced from the observation of many individual scene. Since it is not only very attractive to the general public, but also very important to the designers, scholars and artists, operational definitions of landscape are urgently needed.

I observed the meaning and the symbolic charaeters about the color and style of clothes appearing at "GER GA JAP BOK GO" written by Kyu Soo Park. The black color of Hyun Eui as a ceremonial dress of man symbolizes Heaven and Virtue. The yellow color of Whang Sang as a ceremonial dress of man symbolizes the Earth and the Impartiality. The blue or black decoration line over white ground of Sim Eui as ordinary dress of man symbolizes also Filial Piety. In woman ordinary upper garment, So Eui, black texture edging with blue line implies the mutual symmetricity with her husband's. Besides, white color texture lining So Eui symbolical to a Devine Nature and Homage implies also the deep concealment of feminine body. The black ground color of child dress "Chi Po Eui" symbolizes Naivety, and the red silk color of it's decoration line, belt and tress ornaments implies the praise of the Virtue & Learning and also "Expel the Evil" of our traditional national characteristics. As described above the meaning and symbolic characters about the color and style of clothes appearing at "GER GA JAP BOK GO" has a very Chinese disposition, but it's author Kyu Soo Park modified somewhat to be in harmony with the real social situation of our Country during that latest stage of Yi Dynasty, because he was one of the prominent pragmatist at that time.

A space shuttle with a Prototype Synchrotron Radiation Detector (PSRD) was launched in 2001. PSRD was set in the Endeavour payloads and got data for 12 days. The purpose of PSRD is to measure synchrotron photons which are created by high energy charged particles near earth. Synchrotron photons are confused with background photons. We studied how to separate synchrotron photons from backgrounds.
