  • This study is about physical properties of concrete with changing displacement ratio of calcium sulfa aluminates(CSA) type admixture. Firstly, test shows that as displacement ratio of CSA increases and setting properties changes, fluidity and air contents decreases. In water to binder ratio 35$\%$ and 45$\%$, concrete using the cement replacing CSA 4$\%$ by volume shows that bleeding decreases 94.7$\%$ and 74.3$\%$ respectively, compared with plain concrete. In addition, setting time was promoted around 3 to 6 hour and 1 to 4 hour respectively. For harden concrete, increase of displacement ratio caused tendency of higher compressive strength as OPC has at early age. Replacing higher CSA admixture led to reduce of drying shrinkage.

  • In this study, emulsion type hydrophobic admixture was prepared by mixing polyvinyl alcohol surfactant, polymethyl hydro-siloxane and meta kaolin, and the compressive strength and mechanical properties such as permeability and contact angle test of the mortar were evaluated. The developed hydrophobic admixture showed no decrease in strength and the mortar specimen with magnesium oxide developed the early strength. In the case of permeability, total seepage was significantly decreased when the hydrophobic admixture was directly mixed with the mortar, but the effect of meta kaolin contained in hydrophobic admixture was not significant. The surface of specimens coated with hydrophobic admixture shows that the contact angle on the surface was highly increased compared with reference mortar specimen. Further researches to obtain the optimum mix proportion of the PVA fiber, nano-silica and meta kaolin for producing the super-hydrophobic surface are required.

  • This study, with the purpose for early quality improvement of concrete which used large quantity of fly ash, changed various admixture material type and reviewed the basic characteristics. First off, the flow overall was highest when polycarb onic Acid high early strength AE water reducing agent was displaced, while air amount satisfied target level only in the case of plain, and setting time was shown best by getting 30 more minutes than plain and about 3 more hours than conventional when KOH is displaced. Compressive strength was shown best at age 1 day and 3 days when KOH was displaced, and at age 28 days when fine particle cement was displaced. By and large, this study concludes that concrete quality improvement admixture material that used large amount of fly ash showed worse effects than plain, therefore it is determined that there need be more study for development of concrete early quality improvement admixture material that used large amount of fly ash.

  • Ultra high performance concrete(UHPC) represents high early age autogenous shrinkage strain due to its low water-to-binder ratio(W/B) and high fineness admixture usage. It has been reported that fiber can control restrained tensile stress and crack. The purpose of the present study is, therefore, to investigate the autogenous shrinkage as well as mechanical properties including compressive strength, flexural strength and modulus of elasticity on the UHPC with fiber type and pre-mix of binder.

  • This paper describes the development of modified heat of hydration and maturity-strength models for concrete containing fly ash and slag. The modified models are developed based on laboratory and literature test results, which include different types of cement, fly ash, and slag. The new models consider cement type, water-to-cementitious material ratio (w/cm), mineral admixture, air content, and curing conditions. The results show that the modified models well predict heat evolution and compressive strength development of concrete made with different cementitious materials. Using the newly developed models, the sensitivity analysis was also performed to study the effect of each parameter on the hydration and strength development. The results illustrate that comparing with other parameters studied, w/cm, air content, fly ash, and slag replacement level have more significantly influence on concrete strength at both early and later age.

  • With blast-furnace slag is a by-product generated when pig iron is produced. It has been used as the concrete admixture due to high reactivity. However, It causes low strength development during early age. In order to make up for this drawback, in this study, we evaluated compressive strength of mortar replaced with high volume blast-furnace slag. Experimental results, Compressive strength of mortar based on blast-furnace slag is affected by cement type, substitution rate of blast-furnace slag and pH after mixing.

  • This study generally compared and investigated cement type and quality of China and Korea. Cement in Korea is divided into five such as ordinary, high early strength, moderate heat, low heat and sulfate resistance portland cement. However cement in China is divided into portland cement($P{\cdot}I,\;P{\cdot}II$) and ordinary portland cement($P{\cdot}O$) with admixture displacement ratio and it is again divided into 6 level and 7 level with 28 days compressive strength. In addition China classified cement into several standards, such as Mgo, SO3,, igloss, blame, setting time, stability, strength, alkali and sampling test. Therefore it should be careful to conclude so quickly without right understanding whether quality of China cement is bad or good. The better way to evaluate China cement is synthetically understanding a value engineering and consumer awareness.

  • This study aimed to examine the cause of latent hydraulic property manifestation of ground granulated blast-furnace slag(GGBFS) using different alkali activators in pH, type and quantity. According to the experimental result, the higher pH value accelerated lastly latent hydraulic property and the early stage strength of GCBFS was ranked as activators with the higher pH, in an order of NaOH, $Ca(OH)_{2}$ and $Na_{2}$$Co_{3}$. Also, NaOH had accelerated latent hydraulic property of GGBFS, which had 40~50% of the 3 and 7 days compressive strength of base mortar in case of using 10% of powder-weight. In the case of 30% of GGBFS substitution with annexing 2.5% $Ca(OH)_{2}$, the compressive strength on the 3 and 7 days of the early-age, was increased to 5~10% than that of the same admixture with no activator. With annexing 5.0% $Ca(OH)_{2}$, the strength was increased to 10~20%. Although activator NaOH was effective on the manifestation of latent hydraulic property, it caused cement mortar compressive strength decrease by enlarging pore diameter.

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effects of admixture such as AE water reducing agent and Flyash on properties of cement mortar for floor. As for the effects of AE water reducing agent kinds, fluidity and air content increase in order for melamine type, lignine type and naphtalene type. As Flyash contents increase, fluidity shows high, but air content shows decline tendency. compressive strength according to AE water reducing agent kinds increase in order for melamine type, lignine type and naphtalene type. As AE water reducing agent content increases, it shows to be decreased. As for the effects of Flyash, it retards at early age but at later age it gains high with increase of Flyash contents due to pozzanic reaction. Drying shrinkage shows to be docreased slightly with increase of AE water reducing agent.

  • Recently, the amount of the mineral admixture including fly ash and ground granulated blast-furnace slag was increased for the purpose of $CO_2$ gas emission reduction in the concrete industry. However, in the case of korea, estimation model of strength development in concrete structural design code was prescribed a constant value according to cement type and curing method about the portland cement. therefore, the properties of strength development according to time of concrete using fly ash and ground granulated blast-furnace slag does not reflected estimation model of strength development. Accordingly, this paper was evaluated strength according to time on the concrete strength range using fly ash and ground granulated blast-furnace Slag and the strength development constant ${\beta}_{sc}$ of concrete according to the kind of the mineral admixture and mixing ratio was proposed.
