청소년 초기의 자아존중감과 적응과의 관계 (The Relation between Self-Esteem and Adjustment in Early Adolescence)

  • The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between self-esteem and adjustment in early adolescence. The survey data was collected from 497 middle school students who were living at Pusan Korea. The participants completed the multidimensional Self-Esteem Inventory, constructed by the present researchers, the depression scale, and the life-satisfaction scale. The major findings of this study were as follows. The depression of adolescents was affected by the self-esteem related to home, peer, physical-appearance, and personality subdimenions. The importance of and the level of self-esteem about physical-appearance have an interactive effect on adolescents' depression. The life satisfaction of adolescents was affected by the self-esteem related to home, peer, physical-appearance, and academic-general areas.

가정환경의 질과 아버지의 양육참여가 취학 전 유아의 학교준비도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Home Environment Quality and Father's Parenting Participation on School Readiness of Preschool Children)

  • This study investigated the effect of home environment quality and fathers' parenting participation on school readiness of preschool children. The subjects were 101 5-years old children, mothers and teachers at child care centers located in the Gyeonggi area. Home environment quality was measured using a 'Korean Home Environment' questionnaire. Parenting participation by fathers was measured by 'Scale for Productive Roles of Fathers of Children in Their Early Childhood.' Lastly, the children's school readiness measured the 'School Readiness Inventory.' Collected data were analyzed using t-test, correlation analysis, and hierarchical multiple regression. The results of the study showed that the school readiness of preschool children differed by gender. The score of girls' school readiness was higher than boys' school readiness. Such difference was apparent in the school readiness areas of general knowledge, mathematical knowledge, and adjustment. There was a positive correlation between age and the school readiness of preschool children. An increase in children's age also increased school readiness in the areas of linguistic knowledge, mathematical knowledge, and adjustment. Home environment quality and fathers' parenting participation directly influenced the school readiness of preschool children. The pattern of the results suggests that a desirable home environment and fathers' contribution in the family for children are critical components to prepare preschool children for elementary school.

한국과 연변조선족 부모별거 아동의 탄력성과 양육요인 및 사회정서적 적응력간의 관계 (The Relations mong Children's Resilience, Child Rearing Factors and Socio-Emotional Adjustment in Korean and Yanbian Korean-Chinese Shildren Separated from Parents)

  • The focus of this study was finding out the relations among resilience of children separated from parents, child rearing factors and socio-emotional adjustment in Korean and Yanbian Korean-Chinese regions. Subjects were elementary school $5{\sim}6$ graders separated from their parents(184 in Korea and 81 in Yanbian). Data analysis was by Pearson's r, F-test and t-test. Resilience of Korean-Chinese children was higher than that of Korean children. Caregivers' child rearing behavioral factor than other child rearing factors was significant for children's resilience, and especially for Korean children, caregivers' child rearing psychological factor -efficacy and stress variables- were meaningful. Socio-emotional adjustment was significantly different between resilience high and low groups in both regions. Implications are that regional differences, caregivers' psychological and behavioral child rearing factors should be considered in supporting the development of children's resilience and socio-emotional adjustment.

비연속시간 생존분석을 활용한 청소년의 최초 지위비행에 대한 영향요인 분석 (Discrete-Time Survival Analysis of the Determinants of the Onset of Adolescents' Status Delinquency)

  • 본 연구는 청소년의 최초 지위비행 발생시점을 비연속 생존분석을 통해 규명하고, 최초 지위비행에 미치는 영향요인을 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 분석은 한국아동청소년패널조사(Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey)의 중1패널 5개년 자료를 활용하였으며, 분석 대상 학생 수는 2,277명(남학생 1,126명, 여학생 1,151명)이다. 주요 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 최조 지위비행 발생에 대한 위험확률은 중2때 16.6%로 가장 높았으며, 중3때는 다소 감소하였으나 전반적으로 학년이 높아지면서 지속적으로 증가하였다. 둘째, 우울, 공격성과 같은 청소년의 심리, 정서 요인이 최초 지위비행 시점에 유의하게 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 부모의 부정적 양육방식인 학대는 비행에 유의한 영향을 미친 반면 방임은 유의하지 않았다. 넷째, 청소년 주변의 비행친구는 최초 지위비행에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요인이었다. 다섯째, 학교요인 중 학습활동 적응, 학교규칙 적응, 교우관계 적응은 지위비행에 영향을 미친 반면 교사관계 적응은 유의하지 않았다. 청소년의 최초 지위비행에 대한 발생시점과 영향요인을 분석한 결과 청소년의 지위비행 예방을 위해 초기 개입이 중요하며, 따라서 이에 대한 적절한 교육과 지원이 필요하다.

한부모가족 아동에 대한 예비유아교사들의 인식연구 (The Study of Preservice Teachers' Perceptions about Children from Single Parent Families)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the perceptions of preservice teachers toward children from single parent families. 218 preservice teachers (209 female and 9 male) who were enrolled in the department of early childhood education and child care & education were participated in this study. A questionnaire was developed based on the questionnaire developed by Song, Sung, & Han (2003). Data were analyzed by using SPSS 11.5. The results were followed. First, preservice teachers' personal experiences of single parent families did not influence their perception of children from single-parent family. Second, preservice teachers who strongly held the view of keeping traditional family structure showed negative expectations of children's school adjustment. Third, preservice teachers reported the importance to help the children adjustment at school as well as to deal with their personal and family problem. The results presented that there was an increasing need in teacher education, to develop curriculum for preservice teachers to have balanced views or reduce their biased perception against diverse family structure and children from single parent families.

청소년 초기 혼자 보내는 시간의 맥락적 특성과 발달적 잠재력 탐색 (Contextual Characteristics and Developmental Functions of Time Spent Alone in Early Adolescence)

  • This study investigated contextual characteristics and developmental functions of time spent alone in early adolescence. Participants were 107 6th grade elementary school students. The Experience Sampling Method was used to measure experiences of time spent alone. Findings were that : (1) 2.6% of an early adolescents' daily waking time was involuntarily spent alone and 14.8% was voluntarily spent alone. (2) Psychological states of voluntary time spent alone were more positive than those of involuntary time spent alone, and psychological states of voluntary time spent alone were not significantly different from those of time spent with family members or friends. (3) Experiences during voluntary time spent alone were related to adjustment, suggesting that time spent alone during early adolescence contributes to positive development.

초등학교 5학년 아동의 삶의 만족도 관련 변인의 유형화 연구 (A Clustering Study of the Variables Related to Elementary School 5th Graders' Levels of Life Satisfaction)

  • Using the second year data of the Korean Child and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS) elementary 4 panel, this study attempted to elucidate variables related to elementary school 5th graders' life satisfaction and how the variables are clustered in each gender. Analyzing the data of 2378 5th graders (boys 1180, girls 1084) indicated that variables related to their life satisfaction were self-esteem, parenting style, peer attachment, grade satisfaction, and school adjustment. Both boys and girls were clustered into three clusters. The cluster 1 children indicated the highest degrees of self-esteem, peer attachment, grade satisfaction and school adjustment levels, and they perceived parenting style more positively than the children from the other clusters. The cluster 3 children showed the opposite trends to the cluster 1 children in each of the five variables and the cluster 2 showed middle levels in all of the variables. The characteristics of the three clusters were analyzed in terms of the differences of children's life satisfaction and explanatory variables of life satisfaction.

구치부 반대교합의 조기치료에 대한 치험례 (EARLY TREATMENT OF THE POSTERIOR CROSS-BITE: A CASE REPORT)

  • 구치부 반대교합은 유치열기와 혼합치열기에서 종종 나타나는 부정교합으로서, 유병율은 $7{\sim}23%$로 다양하게 나타난다. 이는 상악 치아의 협측 교두가 대합되는 하악 치아의 협측 교두의 설측에 교합하는 상태이며, 하나의 치아 또는 한 치아군에서 나타날 수 있다. 구치부 반대교합의 경우, 보통 자발적 교정이 이루어지지 않으므로, 발견되는 즉시 치료해주는 것이 추천된다. 치성이나 기능성의 경우 성장함에 따라 골격성으로 이행하여 악골의 변형을 초래하고 교정적인 수단으로 개선이 불가능한 상태로 악화될 가능성도 있으므로 조기에 치료하는 것이 효과적이며, 이러한 반대교합의 치료 방법으로는 하악의 변위를 유발하는 조기접촉을 제거하기 위한 교합조정, 협소한 상악궁의 확장, 치열궁내 비대칭을 치료하기 위한 개개 치아의 배열 등의 방법이 있다. 본 증례에서는 유치열기와 초기 혼합치열기 아동에서 구치부 반대교합이 관찰되어 치아의 선택적 삭제와 상악궁의 확장으로 반대교합을 교정한 후 정기적 검진시 양호한 결과가 관찰되기에 이를 보고하는 바이다.

Eddy Formation Near the Izu-Ogasawara Ridge and its Link with Seasonal Adjustment of the Subtropical Gyre in the Pacific

  • Using OGCM results, we have shown that the ring-like cold baroclinic eddies associated with cyclonic circulation are shed from late summer to early fall near the Izu-Ogasawara Ridge from the Kuroshio Extension owing to baroclinic instability. On the other hand, warm baroclinic eddies are generated by the intensified western boundary current associated with the warm anomaly accumulated near the Ridge in winter, which corresponds to the basin-wide barotropic intensification of the wind-driven gyre in winter. We are successful in reproducing the behavior of those meso-scale eddies using a simple two-layer primitive equation model driven by seasonal winds associated with the positive curl. Those eddies carry barotropic seasonal signals originated in the Pacific Basin quite slowly west of the ridge; this process introduces a phase lag in the timing of the seasonal maximum transport in the Philippine Basin west of the ridge. It Is demonstrated that the existence of bottom topography, baroclinicity, and nonlinearity due to advection are three necessary elements for the generation of these eddies south of Japan.

아동의 학교부적응에 영향을 미치는 관련 변인의 구조분석 (Linear Structural Relationships in Children's School Maladjustment and Related Variables)

  • Causal relationships between school maladjustment and related variables were examined in 371 5th grade elementary school students. School maladjustment was ascertained by revised the School Adjustment Test(Lim, 1993; Song, 1999). After analysis of differences in internal locus of control, academic stress, and academic achievement between the school maladjusted and adjusted groups, the study built a structural equation model of school maladjustment-related variables goodness of fit was tested with LISREL 8 for Windows. Significant differences were found in internal locus of control, academic stress, and academic achievement by level of school maladjustment. Internal locus of control, academic stress, and academic achievement both directly and/or indirectly influenced school maladjustment. These variables explained 64% of the variances in school maladjustment.
