Background: Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) is used for muscle strengthening. While voluntary muscle contraction follows Henneman et al.'s size principle, the NMES-induced muscle training disrespects the neurophysiology, which may lead to unwanted changes (i.e., declined balance ability). Objects: We examined how the balance was affected by abdominal muscle training with the NMES. Methods: Fifteen young adults (10 males and 5 females) aged between 21 and 30 received abdominal muscle strengthening with NMES for 23 minutes. Before and after the training, participants' balance was measured through one leg standing on a force plate with eyes open or closed. Outcome variables included mean distance (MDIST), root mean square distance (RDIST), total excursion (TOTEX), mean velocity (MVELO), and 95% confidence circle area (AREA) of center of pressure data. Two-way repeated measures analysis of variance was used to test if these outcome variables were associated with time (pre and post) and vision. Results: All outcome variables were not associated with time (p > 0.05). However, all outcome variables were associated with vision (p = 0.0001), and MVELO and TOTEX were 52.4% (45.5 mm/s versus 95.6 mm/s) and 52.4% (364.1 mm versus 764.5 mm) smaller, respectively, in eyes open than eyes closed (F = 55.8, p = 0.0005; F = 55.8, p = 0.0005). Furthermore, there was no interaction between time and vision (F = 0.024, p = 0.877). Conclusion: Despite the different neurophysiology of muscle contraction, abdominal muscle strengthening with NMES did not affect balance.
This paper describes the possibility of human physiological data, especially brain-wave activity, to detect cognitive overload, a phenomenon that may occur while learner uses an e-learning system. If it is found that cognitive overload to be detectable, providing appropriate feedback to learners may be possible. To illustrate the possibility, while engaging in cognitive activities, cognitive load levels were measured by EEG (electroencephalogram) to seek detection of cognitive overload. The task given to learner was a computerized listening and recall test designed to measure working memory capacity, and the test had four progressively increasing degrees of difficulty. Eight male, right-handed, university students were asked to answer 4 sets of tests and each test took from 61 seconds to 198 seconds. A correction ratio was then calculated and EEG results analyzed. The correction ratio of listening and recall tests were 84.5%, 90.6%, 62.5% and 56.3% respectively, and the degree of difficulty had statistical significance. The data highlighted learner cognitive overload on test level of 3 and 4, the higher level tests. Second, the SEF-95% value was greater on test3 and 4 than on tests 1 and 2 indicating that tests 3 and 4 imposed greater cognitive load on participants. Third, the relative power of EEG gamma wave rapidly increased on the 3rd and $4^{th}$ test, and signals from channel F3, F4, C4, F7, and F8 showed statistically significance. These five channels are surrounding the brain's Broca area, and from a brain mapping analysis it was found that F8, right-half of the brain area, was activated relative to the degree of difficulty. Lastly, cross relation analysis showed greater increasing in synchronization at test3 and $4^{th}$ at test1 and 2. From these findings, it is possible to measure brain cognitive load level and cognitive over load via brain activity, which may provide atimely feedback scheme for e-learning systems.

Since the haze removal algorithm using dark channel prior was introduced, many researches for improving processing speed have been addressed even if it presented impressive results. Remarkable one is using median dark channel prior. Although it has been considered as a very attactive method, processing speed is as low as ever. So, a parallel memory model which is suitable for SIMD architecture processing haze removal on high-definition images in high-speed is introduced in this paper. The proposed parallel memory model allows to access n pixels simultaneously. It is also support stride 3, 5, 7, and 11 in order to execute convolution mask operations, e.g., median filter. The proposed parallel memory model can therefore support enough data bandwidth to process the algorithm using median dark channel prior in high-speed.
In this paper, we define "presence" as a physiological and emotional feeling which feels that he or she is immerged in a specific artworks when he/she is very interested in the artwork. To measure the presence, we use a combined approach of subjective survey and brain signals (EEG). Subjective survey includes PQS (presence questionnaire survey) and IDQS (individual differences questionnaire survey). We experimented with 30 random populations, and we performed Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ test to verify the validity of the survey results. We also cross-checked the survey with EEG test for the populations. From our experimentation, we conclude that opponent color (e.g. yellow and blue) makes strong excitation on presence. In this paper, we believe that there are strong presence even in the abstract images, and it can be stronger than photo-realistic images if we well-design color, forms on the artwork.
Objective: To analyze cost-effectiveness of morphine, MS contin and oxycodone in the treatment of cancer pain, providing guidance for rational drug use in the clinic. Methods: Confirmed by histology, a total of 171 patients with various cancers who required analgesic treatment were selected and divided into 3 groups, 57 cases for each group, given morphine, MS contin and oxycodone, respectively. If there appeared a poor short-term effect or aggravated sudden pain during the treatment, a short-acting morphine injection was given and adverse reactions were processed by symptomatic treatment. The pain relief rate and adverse reactions of groups were observed and pharmacoeconomics evaluation was undertaken. Results: The pain relief rates with morphine, MS contin and oxycodone were 89.5%(51/57), 91.2%(52/57) and 93.0%(53/57), respectively, with no difference samong groups (${\chi}^2=4.4489$, P=0.6162). The occurrence rates of adverse reactions were 59.7%(34/57), 54.4%(31/57) and 43.9%(25/57), again with no significant variation (P>0.05). The ratios of cost-effectiveness (C/E) for the 3 groups were $14.6{\pm}7.21$, $15.0{\pm}7.44$ and $16.1{\pm}8.10$. When the price of 3 kinds of analgesics was reduced by 10%, the ratios of cost-effectiveness were $12.2{\pm}6.53$, ($13.4{\pm}6.08$ and $14.5{\pm}6.74$ but there was no differences when compared with before the price adjustment (t=1.86, P=0.0651; t=1.30, P=0.1948; t=1.17, P=0.2453). Conclusion: Morphine, MS contin and oxycodone give similar pain relief and adverse reaction rates but of all, morphine is the preferred drug for the treatment of cancer pain from the perspective of pharmacoeconomics.
It is well known that there are two experimental errors on acoustic decay measurements. ,One is due to the influence of the band pass filter the other one is that of an averaging device. In this paper the influence of the filter is investigated in detail. To minimize the influence of the filter, the product of the filter bandwidth B (3dB bandwidth) and the reverberation time T/sub 60/ of the room under test should be at least 16. Moreover, if the initial part of an acoustic decay curve is important, the strong requirement, i. e. BT/sub 60/〉64, must be satisfied. In this paper, the wavelet filter bank instead of the band pass filter bank is applied to obtain an acoustic decay curve. As a result, the influence of filter is reduced and then the value of BT/sub 60/ required for obtaining an acceptable decay curve becomes at least 4. The strong requirement for the initial part of a decay curve is also replaced by the BT/sub 60/〉16 instead of BT/sub 60/〉64.
We conduct a survey on mathematics academic achievement to 4th, 5th, and 6th grade elementary school students at Dong-Gu in Busan in order to provide teachers in elementary schools with basic research data. The survey questionnaire includes home background, private education, the difficulty degree of mathematics textbook, practical usage of computers, group-teaching, teaching methods, preview, review, homework amount, learning attitude, problem solving ability, interest for mathematics, and the relationships of a home room teacher and friends. Based on survey data we perform factor analysis to find major factors affecting mathematics academic achievement. We identify if there are statistically significant differences in responses of survey for gender group and grade group with regard to survey questions belonging to the major factors obtained in factor analysis.
People can easily use a shared economic service system based on ICT technology. Most of the shared economic services are provided by private companies, and discussion on public goods is insufficient. If we look at the current shared economic service from the point of view of courier service, $\ddot{U}ber^{\prime}s$ system can be an alternative. The post office courier service uses ICT technology but differs from the service of the shared economy. This study uses Delphi analyzer method and AHP methodology to derive important factors in introducing shared economic system. As a result, socioeconomic characteristics were found to be the most important in the upper tier, and the shared economic platform, sharing of idle resources, popularization of smartphone, and increase of e - commerce were the four important factors in the lower tier. In order to maximize efficiency, which is the essence of the shared economy, the necessity of introduction into the shared economic system and important factors in the introduction of public goods are presented.

Reinforced concrete (RC) structures with low-strength RC columns are rampant in several countries, especially those constructed during the early 1960s and 1970s. The weakness of these structures due to overloading or some natural disasters such as earthquakes and building age effects are some of the main reasons to collapse, particularly with the scarcity of data on the impact of aspect ratio and corner radius on the confinement effectiveness. Hence, it is crucial to investigate if these columns (with different aspect ratios) can be made safe by strengthening them with carbon fiber-reinforced polymers (CFRP) sheets. Therefore, experimental and numerical studies of CFRP-strengthened low-strength reinforced concrete short rectangular, square, and circular columns were studied. In this investigation, a total of 6 columns divided into three sets were evaluated. The first set had two circular cross-sectional columns, the second set had two square cross-section columns, and the third set has two rectangular cross-section columns. Furthermore, FEM validation has been conducted for some of the experimental results obtained from the literature. The experimental results revealed that the confinement equations for RC columns as per both CSA and ACI codes could give incorrect results for low-strength concrete. The control specimen (unstrengthened ones) displayed that both ACI and CSA equations overestimate the ultimate strength of low-strength RC columns by order of extent. For strengthened columns with CFRP, the code equations of CSA and ACI code overestimate the maximum strength by around 6 to 13% and 23 to 29%, respectively, depending on the cross-section of the column (i.e., square, rectangular, or circular). Results of finite element models (FEMs) showed that increasing the layer number of new commonly CFRP type (B) from one to 3 for circular columns can increase the column's ultimate loads by around eight times compared to unjacketed columns. However, in the case of strengthened square and rectangular columns with CFRP, the increase of the ultimate loads of columns can reach up to six times and two times, respectively.

Efficient prediction of corporate bankruptcy is an important part of making appropriate lending decisions for financial institutions and reducing loan default rates. In many studies, classification models using artificial intelligence technology have been used. In the financial industry, even if the performance of the new predictive models is excellent, it should be accompanied by an intuitive explanation of the basis on which the result was determined. Recently, the US, EU, and South Korea have commonly presented the right to request explanations of algorithms, so transparency in the use of AI in the financial sector must be secured. In this paper, an artificial intelligence-based interpretable classification prediction model was proposed using corporate bankruptcy data that was open to the outside world. First, data preprocessing, 5-fold cross-validation, etc. were performed, and classification performance was compared through optimization of 10 supervised learning classification models such as logistic regression, SVM, XGBoost, and LightGBM. As a result, LightGBM was confirmed as the best performance model, and SHAP, an explainable artificial intelligence technique, was applied to provide a post-explanation of the bankruptcy prediction process.
