The recognition of e-Learning formiddle school teachers and students (중학교 교사${\cdot}$학생들의 e-Learning에 대한 인식 연구)

  • Computers have been increasingly recognized as tools for teaming, in addition to supporting industrial works. Such advantages e-Learning have as teaming at any time and place, distribution and management of standardized contents, mentoring with learners, immediate feed-backs, and dynamic learning have been applied in a variety of divisions. Despite of the researches and interests, the study on the different views between teachers who design and operate e-learning and students who receive lessons hasn't been enough. So it studied the recognition of middle school teachers and students on the e-Learning. <중략>The research result showed that there were similarity in the views between teachers and students on the concept of e-Learning. Many teachers and students have experienced the e-Learning directly or indirectly. Teachers and students showed similar opinions on the beforehand education and preferred subjects of the e-Learning. But the students required fast and immediate feedback of the teachers. Teachers and students showed similar opinions on the utilization of multimedia components to achieve the goal of education. But teachers thought that immediate feedback was important. The students thought it important to control the degree of difficulty. It suggests a way to activate the e-Learning of middle school efficiently with the research result.

The Effects of E-Brochure Functions and Attitudes to E-Brochures on Self-Efficacy and Salespeople Job Satisfaction in Pharmaceutical Companies

  • Today, companies are making efforts to improve the performance of workers by utilizing various IT-based mobile and internet devices. In pharmaceutical companies, salespeople are using the e-brochure to search for diverse expertise in real time. Through the e-brochure, pharmacists and doctors can be provided with the information they need, thereby increasing confidence in pharmaceuticals and salespeople. Salespeople can also use e-brochures to improve their work performance and to be more satisfied with their jobs. This study examines which functions of e-brochures satisfy salespeople and what attitudes to the e-brochures they need to have. This paper explains the effect of satisfaction and attitude to the e-brochures on job satisfaction through self-efficacy with statistical analysis. As a statistical result, the functions of e-brochures (professional knowledge, massive amount of data, easy searching, information updates, and the reflection of feedback) and attitudes to the e-brochures (importance, intention to use, belief in improvement, efficacy to use, and negative cognition) influence on self-efficacy of salespeople. Further, self-efficacy has mediating effects on the relationship between the functions of e-brochures / attitudes to e-brochures and job satisfaction. Exceptionally, the mediating effect of self-efficacy was not significant in relation to information updates / reflection of feedback and job satisfaction. These results will explain what functions should be focused for the future development of e-brochures. It will also suggest what attitudes the salespeople should have about e-brochures. Through these efforts, salespeople will be able to utilize new technology of e-brochures to satisfy their jobs and improve their performance.

  • Recommender systems provide users with the most favorable items by analyzing explicit or implicit feedback of users on items. Recently, as the size of deep-learning-based models employed in recommender systems has increased, many studies have focused on reducing inference time while maintaining high recommendation accuracy. As one of them, a study on recommender systems with a knowledge distillation (KD) technique is actively conducted. By KD, a small-sized model (i.e., student) is trained through knowledge extracted from a large-sized model (i.e., teacher), and then the trained student is used as a recommendation model. Existing studies on KD for recommender systems have been mainly performed only for implicit feedback settings. Thus, in this paper, we try to investigate the performance and accuracy when applied to explicit feedback settings. To this end, we leveraged a total of five state-of-the-art KD methods and three real-world datasets for recommender systems.

Process Performance Feedback and Quality Goal Setting as Sources of Process Restrictiveness and Behavior Guidance in Electronic Brainstorming

  • Purpose Through the provision of real time performance information about who is contributing and who is not in Electronic Brainstorming, prior studies evidenced a significant performance gain. However, it has been observed that the quantity-based performance feedback alone does not have enough restrictiveness to guide the performance behavior throughout the idea generation session. We included the notion of goal setting into the process performance feedback mechanism in an effort to regulate performance behavior and to better understand why individuals in Electronic Brainstorming are not obtaining enough stimulation benefits in the group interaction process. Design/methodology/approach We had developed real-time visual process performance feedback and modified to include goal setting. This mechanism visually displays individuals' performances two-dimensionally (quality for each idea vertically and quantity of ideas horizontally along with their goals). As individuals' contributions accumulate, the mechanism reveals performance histories by connecting the sequence of ideas in a time-series format, telling stories of individuals' performances. Then, we compared the performance outcome from this study with the outcomes from two prior studies (i.e., Jung et al., 2010 and Jung, 2014). Findings The results showed that the inclusion of goal setting into the process performance feedback solved the issue in the previous study. That was the lower than expected magnitude of performance enhancement of process performance feedback when compared to that of quantity-based feedback. It appears that goals as a motivational technique provide standards for systematic self-evaluation, serving as a cue to regulate performance behavior by strengthening the linkage between effort and performance. Thus, goals seem to set up a self-fulfilling prophecy, preconditioning better performance. However, the outcome still showed that its performance magnitude is unsatisfactory because the outcome of this study turned out to be close to the outcome of just quantity-based performance feedback in Jung et al.'s (2010) study.

The Effect of Visual Bio-feedback Training on Balance and Postural Control in Stroke Patients (시지각 바이오피드백 훈련이 뇌졸중 환자의 균형 및 자세조절에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives : This study was to investigate the visual bio-feedback training for 5 weeks on balance and postural control for patients with stroke. Methods : The 26 subjects were randomly selected from the patients of the E hospital in the S city who met the study conditions. They were divided into a visual bio-feedback training group of 13 patients and a self-resistance exercise group of 13 patients. The visual bio-feedback training group received visual bio-feedback and general physiotherapy for five weeks and the self-resistance exercise group received cycling and general physiotherapy for the same period. The subjects were measured and compared for stability index, weight distribution index, fall down index, functional reach test and timed up and go test before and after the program. Results : The visual bio-feedback training group showed significant changes after the experiment in stability index, weight distribution index, functional reach test and timed up and go test(p<0.05), and the self-resistance exercise group also showed significant differences(p<0.05). The changes between prior to and after the experiment show that the visual bio-feedback training group had more significant effects than the self-resistance exercise group(p<0.05). Conclusions : The visual bio-feedback training for five weeks had effects in the improvement of the balance and posture control of stroke patients. Based on these results, more effective training programs should be developed and propagated.

  • Summation generator can be easily made as a simple hardware or software and it's period and linear complexity are very high. So it is appropriate to mobile security system for ubiquitous environment. But it showed us the weakness by Golic's correlation attack and Meier's fast correlation attack. In this paper, we proposed a Nonlinear Summation Generator(NSG), which is improved by using LFSR and NFSR(nonlinear feedback shift register), is different from $E_0$ algorithm which use only LFSR in summation generator. It enhanced nonlinearity and is hard to decipher even though the correlation attack or fast correlation attack. We also analyzed the security aspects and the performances for the proposed algorithm.

Influences of Transparency and Feedback on Customer Intention to Reuse Online Recommender Systems (온라인 추천시스템에서 고객 사용의도를 위한 시스템 투명성과 피드백의 영향)

  • The problem of choosing the right product that will best fit a consumer's taste and preferences extends to the field of electronic commerce. However, e-commerce has been able to create a technological proxy for the social filtering process, known as online recommender systems (RSs). RSs aid users in filtering products and decisions on matters relating to personal taste. RSs have the potential to support and improve the quality of the decisions consumers make when searching for and selecting products and services online. However, most previous research on RSs has focused on the accuracy of the algorithms, with little emphasis on user interface and perspectives. This study identified transparency and feedback as possible ways to effectively evaluate RSs from the user's perspective. Thus, this research focused on examining and identifying the roles of transparency and feedback in recommender systems and how they affect users' attitudes toward the system. Results of the study showed that both transparency and feedback positively and significantly affected perceived trust, perceived value of the process, and perceived enjoyment. Furthermore, we found that perceived trust, perceived value of the process, and perceived enjoyment positively and directly affected users' intentions to use/reuse a recommender system.

The effect of types of test information on learning performance in the e-Learning contents (e-러닝 컨텐츠에서 문제풀이 정보의 제시유형에 따른 성과 차이 분석)

  • There are significant changes are in education field: the paradigm shift from teacher-centered and text-oriented learning to learner-centered and multimedia-oriented learning. Many researchers have proposed that the e-learning contents is one of the most important factors on e-learning performance. This study analyzes the effect of types of test information on learning performance in e-learning contents. The results show that the interaction effect between types and gender influences the comprehension of learning; the female prefers to the feedback and narrative type but the male prefer to the narrative type. The narrative type showed the highest score on the comprehension and satisfaction of learning among three different types. Also, the main effect of gender difference had no effect on e-learning performance.

  • Novel single-stage power factor correction AC/DC converter with low DC link voltage using new magnetic feedback technique is proposed in this paper. The Proposed converter has high power factor, tight output voltage regulation and low link capacitor voltage less than 450V for all the load range through the universal input line. This converter has also no dead-zone in the input current, which is seen in the conventional converter using the previous magnetic feedback technique. In this paper, the analysis of operations and features of the proposed converter is provided, and the experimental results of 90W-prototype shows the low harmonic distortions satisfied with EN 61000-3-2 Class D, high power factor and low link voltage less than 450V.
