  • Electronic catalog contains ich semantics associated with products, and serves as a challenging practical domain for ontology application. Ontology is concerned with the nature and relations of being. It can play a crucial role in e-commerce as a formalization of e-Catalogs. Description Logics provide a theoretical core for most of the current ontology languages. In this paper, we present an ontological model of e-Catalogs in DL. We take an Extended Entity Relationship approach for conceptual modeling method, and present the fundamental set of modeling constructs and corresponding description language representation for each construct. Additional semantic knowledge can be represented directly in DL. Our modeling language stands within SHIQ(d) which is known reasonably practical with regard to its expressiveness and complexity. We illustrate sample scenarios to show how our approach may be utilized in modeling e-Catalogs, and also implement the scenarios through a DL inference tool to see the practical feasibility.

  • We present structural parameters of galaxies in the Extended Viro Cluster Catalog (EVCC), new catalog of galaxies in the Viro cluster using homogeneous Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Date Release 7 (DR7) data. The EVCC covers more extended region of the Viro cluster than of the Virgo Cluster Catalog (VCC) and presents updated morphologies of galaxies using multi-band images and spectral features. We obtain the surface brightness profiles of galaxies using ellipse task in IRAF. Based on the analysis of surface brightness profile we construct a catalog of various structural parameters of galaxies, i.e. central surface brightness, effective radius, sersic index, effective surface brightness, and mean effective surface brightness. Taking advantage of these structural parameters in various parameter spaces, we refine criteria of dividing giant elliptical and dwarf elliptical galaxies. In addition, we found that bulge dominated galaxies have larger sersic index and brighter central surface brightness than disk dominated galaxies. At fixed magnitude, dwarf elliptical galaxies dwarf lenticular galaxies, and dwarf irregular low surface brightness (LSB) galaxies show larger effective radii than giant elliptical galaxies, giant lenticular galaxies, and irregular high surface brightness (HSB) galaxies, respectively. Dwarf elliptical galaxies and dwarf irregular LSB galaxies occupy the similar structural parameter spaces. We suggest that giant elliptical galaxies and dwarf elliptical galaxies may have different origin.

  • While the Virgo Cluster Catalog (VCC) is well established catalog from deep photographic plate survey, with available survey data recently released (e.g., SDSS), it can be further updated concerning the membership and morphology of galaxies. While membership and morphology of galaxies included in the VCC are based on the single band imaging data, thanks to the multi-color imaging and spectroscopic observations of SDSS, we are able to revise the membership and morphology of sample galaxies in the fields of the Virgo cluster. We present a new catalog of galaxies in the Virgo cluster using SDSS DR7 data, the extended Virgo cluster catalog. Using SDSS imaging and spectroscopic data, we introduce two kinds of galaxy classifications which are complementary each other. In addition to traditional morphological classification by visual inspection of the images ("Primary Classification"), we also attempt to classify galaxies with the spectroscopic features ("Secondary Classification"). The primary classification is basically based on the scheme of galaxy morphological classification of VCC. The secondary classification relies on the SED shape and presence of emission/absorption lines returned from SDSS. Our morphological classifications allow to study the evolution and associated star formation histories of galaxies in the Virgo cluster.

  • We present a comprehensive re-analysis of stellar photometric variability in the field of open cluster M37, using our new high-precision light curves. This dataset provides a rare opportunity to explore different types of variability between short (-minutes) and long (-one month) time-scales. To investigate the variability properties of -30,000 objects, we developed new algorithms for detecting periodic, aperiodic, and sporadic variability in their light curves. About 7.5% (2,284) of the total sample exhibits convincing variations that are induced by flares, pulsations, eclipses, starspots and, in some cases, unknown causes. The benefits of our new photometry and analysis package are evident. The discovery rate of new variables is increased by 63% in comparison with the existing catalog of variables, and 51 previously identified variables were found to be false positives resulting from time-dependent systematic effects. Based on extended and improved catalog of variables, we will review the basic properties (e.g., periodicity, amplitude, type) of the variability and how different they are for different spectral types and for cluster memberships.

  • A radio-quiet γ-ray pulsar is a neutron star that has significant γ-ray pulsation but without observed radio emission or only limited emission detected by high sensitivity radio surveys. The launch of the Fermi spacecraft in 2008 opened a new epoch to study the population of these pulsars. In the 2nd Fermi Large Area Telescope catalog of γ-ray pulsars, there are 35 (30 % of the 117 pulsars in the catalog) known samples classified as radio-quiet γ-ray pulsars with radio flux density (S1400) of less than 30 μJy. Accompanying the observations obtained in various wavelengths, astronomers not only have the opportunity to study the emitting nature of radio-quiet γ-ray pulsars but also have proposed different models to explain their radiation mechanism. This article will review the history of the discovery, the emission properties, and the previous efforts to study pulsars in this population. Some particular cases known as Geminga-like pulsars (e.g., PSR J0633+1746, PSR J0007+7303, PSR J2021+4026, and so on) are also specified to discuss their common and specific features.

  • In order to care about preserving the environment for future generations, each country has been required to make the laws of the environment. So manufacturers must design, manufacture and sell goods that meet customer's need and must do this while meeting the needs of the environment. In this research we have developed product structure and configuration management system that treats electronic catalogs for recycling of train parts. This research focused on two system. One is JAVA-based electronic catalog that give the information about recycling of train parts. The other is product structure and configuration management system based on electronic catalog and Bill of Materials(B.O.M).

  • The dark matter (DM) only simulations have been exploited to study e.g. the large scale structures and properties of a halo. In a baryon side, the high-resolution hydrodynamic simulation such as IllustrisTNG has helped extend the physics of gas along with stars and DM. However, the expansive computational cost of hydrodynamic simulations limits the size of a simulated universe whereas DM-only simulations can generate the universe of the cosmological horizon size approximately. I will introduce a pipeline to estimate baryonic properties of a galaxy inside a dark matter (DM) halo in DM-only simulations using a machine trained on high-resolution hydrodynamic simulations. An extremely randomized tree (ERT) algorithm is used together with multiple novel improvements such as a refined error function in machine training and two-stage learning. By applying our machine to the DM-only simulation of a large volume, I then validate the pipeline that rapidly generates a galaxy catalog from a DM halo catalog using the correlations the machine found in hydrodynamic simulations. I will discuss the benefits that machine-based approaches like this entail, as well as suggestions to raise the scientific potential of such approaches.
