Multi-Factor Authentication System based on Software Secure Card-on-Matching For Secure Login (안전한 로그인을 위한 소프트 보안카드 기반 다중 인증 시스템)

  • Login process uses both ID and password information to authenticate someone and to permit its access privilege on system. However, an attacker can get those ID and password information by using existing packet sniffing or key logger programs. It cause privacy problem as those information can be used as a hacking and network attack on web server and web e-mail system. Therefore, a more secure and advanced authentication mechanism should be required to enhance the authentication process on existing system. In this paper, we propose a multi-factor authentication process by using software form of secure card system combined with existing ID/Password based login system. Proposed mechanism uses a random number generated from the his/her own handset with biometric information. Therefore, we can provide a one-time password function on web login system to authenticate the user using multi-factor form. Proposed scheme provide enhanced authentication function and security because it is a 'multi-factor authentication mechanism' combined with handset and biometric information on web login system.

  • E-learning technology which effectively supports the learning methodologies between students and professors and which provides location and time benefits to students is being researched now a days. However, E-learning classes produce bad effects comparing with offline classes in learning procedures including scholastic achievements. Bad effects of E-learning system could be proxy attendance, lack of concentration, and bad attitude of students. These environmental problems must be solved first to achieve the advantages of E-learning technology. To get rid of these problems, in this paper, we proposed a mechanism which provides effective learning progress by using face authentication method. This mechanism supervise the student by using real time face recognition which prevents proxy attendance, illegal activities, and student's absences.

Robust Biometric-based Anonymous User Authenticated Key Agreement Scheme for Telecare Medicine Information Systems

  • At present, numerous hospitals and medical institutes have implemented Telecare Medicine Information Systems (TMIS) with authentication protocols to enable secure, efficient electronic transactions for e-medicine. Numerous studies have investigated the use of authentication protocols to construct efficient, robust health care services, and recently, Liu et al. presented an authenticated key agreement mechanism for TMIS. They argued that their mechanism can prevent various types of attacks and preserve a secure environment. However, we discovered that Liu et al.'s mechanism presents some vulnerabilities. First, their mechanism uses an improper identification process for user biometrics; second, the mechanism is not guaranteed to protect against server spoofing attacks; third, there is no session key verification process in the authentication process. As such, we describe how the above-mentioned attacks operate and suggest an upgraded security mechanism for TMIS. We analyze the security and performance of our method to show that it improves security relative to comparable schemes and also operates in an efficient manner.

  • The One-Time Password(OTP) Generator is used as a multi-factor authentication method to ensure secure transaction during e-Financial transaction in the bank and securities company. The OTP based e-Financial Transaction Verification Protocol ensures secure e-financial transaction through confirming the user's identity using OTP authentication information and counters not only Man-in-the-Browser(MITB) attacks but also memory hacking attacks. However, it is possible to generate correct OTPs due to potential of stealing sensitive information of the OTP generator through intelligent phishing, pharming, social engineering attacks. Therefore, it needs another scheme to prevent from above threats, and this paper proposes advanced scheme using Physical Unclonable Functions(PUFs) to solve these problems. First, it is impossible to generate the same OTP values because of the hysically unclonable features of PUFs. In addition, it is impossible to clone OTP generator with hardware techniques. Consequently, the proposed protocol provides stronger and more robust authentication protocol than existing one by adding PUFs in the OTP generator.

  • It is important for users to be confirming in e-Leaning system, because legitimate learner should be joined to the system for teaming and testing Thus, most system for authentication was verified using id and password with learner's id and password. In this case, It can be easy for hackers to steal learner's id and password. In addition, soma learner gets another to sit for the examination for one with another person id and password. For the solution like this problem it needs a biometrics authentication for complement. This method is required so much extra cost as well as are an unwanted concern. Therefore, we proposed keystroke technique to decide which learners are righteous or unlawful in this paper. In addition, we applied statistics and neural network for the performance of keystroke system. As a result, the performance of FAR and FRR in keystroke authentication was increased by proposed method.

  • With explosive growth in the area of the Internet and IT services, various types of e-documents are generated and circulated. An e-Document is a sort of electronic records which a organization performs works and goals. In this study, we propose a security algorithm for secure use and distribution of e-documents. Especially, the proposed method can be applied to generate digital signature which can guarantee authenticity, integrity, confidentiality of an e-document and authenticate authorized users. Also, we can get higher security level as using a smart card that provides highly storing capacity and security. We carried out an experiment to verify efficiency and security of the proposed method.

  • In a wireless sensor network environment, it is required to ensure anonymity by keeping sensor nodes' identifiers not being revealed and to support real-time authentication, lightweight authentication and synchronization. In particular, there exist possibilities of location information leakage by others, privacy interference and security vulnerability when it comes to wireless telecommunications. Anonymity has been an importance issue in wired and wireless network environment, so that it has been studied in wide range. The sensor nodes are interconnected among them based on wireless network. In terms of the sensor node, the researchers have been emphasizing on its calculating performance limit, storage device limit, and smaller power source. To improve of biometric-based D. He scheme, this study proposes a real-time authentication protocol using Unique Random Sequence Code(URSC) and variable identifier for enhancing network performance and retaining anonymity provision.

  • A very promising application of active RFID systems is the electronic seal, an electronic device to guarantee the authenticity and integrity of freight containers. To provide freight containers with a high level of tamper resistance, the security of electronic seals must be ensured. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of an electronic seal protection system. First, we propose the eSeal Protection Protocol (ePP). Next, we implement and evaluate various cryptographic primitives as building blocks for our protocol. Our experimental results show that AES-CBC-MAC achieves the best performance among various schemes for message authentication and session key derivation. Finally, we implement a new electronic seal system equipped with ePP, and evaluate its performance using a real-world platform. Our evaluation shows that ePP guarantees a sufficient performance over an ARM9-based interrogator.

Simple and Efficient Authenticated Key Agreement Protocol (간단하고 효율적인 상호 인증 키 동의 프로토콜)

  • In this raper, we propose two simple and efficient key agreement protocols, called SEKA-H and SEKA-E, which use a pre-shared password between two parties for mutual authentication and agreeing a common session key. The SEKA-H protocol uses a hash function to verify an agreed session key. The SEKA-E Protocol, a variant of SEKA-H, uses an exponentiation operation in the verification phase. They are secure against the man-in-the-middle attack the password guessing attack and the Denning-Sacco attack and provide the perfect forward secrecy. The SEKA-H protocol is very simple in structure and provides good efficiency compared with other well-known protocols. The SEKA-E protocol is also comparable with the previous protocols.
