An Efficient Dynamic Response Optimization Using the Design Sensitivities Approximated Within the Estimate Confidence Radius

  • In order to reduce the expensive CPU time for design sensitivity analysis in dynamic response optimization, this study introduces the design sensitivities approximated within estimated confidence radius in dynamic response optimization with ALM method. The confidence radius is estimated by the linear approximation with Hessian of quasi-Newton formula and qualifies the approximate gradient to be validly used during optimization process. In this study, if the design changes between consecutive iterations are within the estimated confidence radius, then the approximate gradients are accepted. Otherwise, the exact gradients are used such as analytical or finite differenced gradients. This hybrid design sensitivity analysis method is embedded in an in-house ALM based dynamic response optimizer, which solves three typical dynamic response optimization problems and one practical design problem for a tracked vehicle suspension system. The optimization results are compared with those of the conventional method that uses only exact gradients throughout optimization process. These comparisons show that the hybrid method is more efficient than the conventional method. Especially, in the tracked vehicle suspension system design, the proposed method yields 14 percent reduction of the total CPU time and the number of analyses than the conventional method, while giving similar optimum values.

  • Preliminary results of using the LPC parameter for text-independent speaker identification problem are presented. The idetification process includes log likelihood ratio for distance measure and dynamic programming for time normalization. To generate the data base for experiments, ten times. Experimental results show 99.4% of identification accuracy, incorrect identification were made when the speaker uses a dialect.

  • 미래 이동 통신 시스템에서 중요한 기술적인 문제 중의 하나는 사용자와 단말기의 위치 관리 기술과 핸드오프 기술을 포함하는 이동성 관리 기술이다 본 논문에서는 IMT-2000 환경에 적합한 계층적 분산 동적 위치 관리 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법에서는 위치 레지스터들로 클러스터를 구성하고, 그 클러스터들을 계층구조로 형성한다. 각 계층별 협동하는 다른 위치 관리 정책을 사용할 뿐만 아니라 다른 셀의 이동 단말기로부터의 국부 이동 단말기의 위치 질의 빈도를 고려한 위치 갱신 알고리즘을 사용한다. 그리고 분석적 모델을 통하여 제안하는 방법의 성능을 평가한다.

Dynamic Response of Dependency Ratio on Government Expenditures in Indonesia

  • The aim of this study is to see how government spending on education, health, and social security affects ratios in Indonesia. The third sector has a critical role to play in reducing the dependency ratio. It also aims to lower unemployment and poverty rates. This study uses the GMM panel data model. This model can determine the dynamic response of the ratio that comes from a number of variables. This study uses data from 33 provinces from 2010 to 2018. The results show that government spending in the education and health sectors has a positive effect on the dependency ratio, both in the short and long term. Social security has a significant effect on the dependency ratio in the long term, but not in the short term. Government spending in the education sector and health sector and social security sector have a positive and significant effect on disease and illness. The study's findings show a high level of poverty with a large standard deviation. The high ratio value is due to the large number of restrictions placed on a number of regions. Each province has made a significant contribution to overcoming these challenges, particularly in terms of the comparative ratio.

  • The EV electric vehicle market is growing rapidly worldwide. An electric vehicle means a vehicle that uses energy charged through an electricity source as power. The precision of the press is important to mass-produce the drive motor, which is a key component of the electric vehicle. The size of the driving motor is increasing, and The size of the mold is also growing. In this study, the precision of large high-speed presses for mass production of driving motors was measured. A study was conducted on the measurement method of press and the analysis of measurement data. A drive motor is a component that transmits power by converting electrical energy into kinetic energy. EV driven motors have key material properties to improve efficiency. The material properties are the thickness of the material. As a method for improving performance, use a 0.2mm thin steel sheet. Mold is also becoming larger. As the mold grows, the size of the high-speed press for mass production of the driving motor is also increasing. Also, the precision of the press is the most important because it uses a thin iron plate material. So the importance of large press precision is being emphasized. Seismic fragility analysis of base isolation reinforced concrete structure building considering performance - a case study for Indonesia

  • Indonesia has had seismic codes for earthquake-resistant structures designs since 1970 and has been updated five times to the latest in 2019. In updating the Indonesian seismic codes, seismic hazard maps for design also update, and there are changes to the Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA). Indonesian seismic design uses the concept of building performance levels consisting of Immediate occupancy (IO), Life Safety (LS), and Collapse Prevention (CP). Related to this performance level, cases still found that buildings were damaged more than their performance targets after the earthquake. Based on the above issues, this study aims to analyze the performance of base isolation design on existing target buildings and analyze the seismic fragility for a case study in Indonesia. The target building is a prototype design 8-story medium-rise residential building using the reinforced concrete moment frame structure. Seismic fragility analysis uses Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA) with Nonlinear Time History Analysis (NLTHA) and eleven selected ground motions based on soil classification, magnitude, fault distance, and earthquake source mechanism. The comparison result of IDA shows a trend of significant performance improvement, with the same performance level target and risk category, the base isolation structure can be used at 1.46-3.20 times higher PGA than the fixed base structure. Then the fragility analysis results show that the fixed base structure has a safety margin of 30% and a base isolation structure of 62.5% from the PGA design. This result is useful for assessing existing buildings or considering a new building's performance.

Development of Efficient Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation Algorithm for XGPON

  • This paper proposes an efficient bandwidth utilization (EBU) algorithm that utilizes the unused bandwidth in dynamic bandwidth allocation (DBA) of a 10-gigabit-capable passive optical network (XGPON). In EBU, an available byte counter of a queue can be negative and the unused remainder of an available byte counter can be utilized by the other queues. In addition, EBU uses a novel polling scheme to collect the requests of queues as soon as possible. We show through analysis and simulations that EBU improves performance compared to that achieved with existing methods. In addition, we describe the hardware implementation of EBU. Finally we show the test results of the hardware implementation of EBU.

  • Recently, the use of biaxial hollow slab is increased to reduce noise and vibration of the floor slab. Therefore, an efficient method for the vibration analysis of biaxial hollow slab is required to describe dynamic behavior of biaxial hollow slab. A finite element analysis is one of the method to analyze the biaxial hollow slab. It is necessary to use a refined finite element model for an accurate analysis of a floor slab with an effects of the hollow shape. But it would take a significant amount of computational time and memory if the entire building structure were subdivided into a finer mesh. Thus the proposed method uses equivalent plate model in this study. Dynamic analyses of an example structure subjected to walking loads were performed to verify the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed method.

  • DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is a protocol which dynamically allocates an IP address and/or host configuration parameters to a host. The DHCP client's address can be changed dynamically any time. For the possible communication with other system, the DHCP client has to inform its address to the DNS system with dynamic update facility. But the DNS dynamic update has a problem related to the security. So we proposed the efficient mechanism for the secure integration of DHCP and DNS by using DNS security extensions. The system also uses the DNS server as the certificate repository for the storing & retrieval of each other's certificate.

해변에서의 사람 검출 알고리즘 (People Detection Algorithm in the Beach)

  • Recently, object detection is a critical function for any system that uses computer vision and is widely used in various fields such as video surveillance and self-driving cars. However, the conventional methods can not detect the objects clearly because of the dynamic background change in the beach. In this paper, we propose a new technique to detect humans correctly in the dynamic videos like shores. A new background modeling method that combines spatial GMM (Gaussian Mixture Model) and temporal GMM is proposed to make more correct background image. Also, the proposed method improve the accuracy of people detection by using SVM (Support Vector Machine) to classify people from the objects and KCF (Kernelized Correlation Filter) Tracker to track people continuously in the complicated environment. The experimental result shows that our method can work well for detection and tracking of objects in videos containing dynamic factors and situations.
