Validation of an analytical method for cyanide determination in blood, urine, lung, and skin tissues of rats using gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS)

  • This study was conducted to establish the analytical method for the determination of cyanide in blood, urine, lung and skin tissues in rats. In order to detect or quantify the sodium cyanide in above biological matrixes, it was derivatized to Pentafluorobenzyl cyanide (PFB-CN) using pentafluorobenzyl bromide (PFB-Br) and then reaction substance was analyzed using gas chromatography mass spectrometer (GC/MS)-SIM (selected ion monitoring) mode. The analytical method for cyanide determination was validated with respect to parameters such as selectivity, system suitability, linearity, accuracy and precision. No interference peak was observed for the determination of cyanide in blank samples, zero samples and lower limit of quantification (LLOQ) samples. The lowest limit detection (LOD) for cyanide was $10{\mu}M$. The linear dynamic range was from 10 to $200{\mu}M$ for cyanide with correlation coefficients higher than 0.99. For quality control samples at four different concentrations including LLOQ that were analyzed in quintuplicate, on six separate occasions, the accuracy and precision range from -14.1 % to 14.5% and 2.7 % to 18.3 %, respectively. The GC/MS-based method of analysis established in this study could be applied to the toxicokinetic study of cyanide on biological matrix substrates such as blood, urine, lung and skin tissues.

Martial Arts Moves Recognition Method Based on Visual Image

  • Intelligent monitoring, life entertainment, medical rehabilitation, and other fields are only a few examples where visual image technology is becoming increasingly sophisticated and playing a significant role. Recognizing Wushu, or martial arts, movements through the use of visual image technology helps promote and develop Wushu. In order to segment and extract the signals of Wushu movements, this study analyzes the denoising of the original data using the wavelet transform and provides a sliding window data segmentation technique. Wushu movement The Wushu movement recognition model is built based on the hidden Markov model (HMM). The HMM model is trained and taught with the help of the Baum-Welch algorithm, which is then enhanced using the frequency weighted training approach and the mean training method. To identify the dynamic Wushu movement, the Viterbi algorithm is used to determine the probability of the optimal state sequence for each Wushu movement model. In light of the foregoing, an HMM-based martial arts movements recognition model is developed. The recognition accuracy of the HMM model increases to 99.60% when the number of samples is 4,000, which is greater than the accuracy of the SVM (by 0.94%), the CNN (by 1.12%), and the BP (by 1.14%). From what has been discussed, it appears that the suggested system for detecting martial arts acts is trustworthy and effective, and that it may contribute to the growth of martial arts.

Recent Advancements in Smart Bandages for Wound Healing

  • Wound healing is a complex and dynamic process, making the accurate and timely assessment of skin wounds a crucial aspect of effective wound care management, especially for chronic wounds. Unlike conventional wound dressings that simply cover the wound area once some form of medicine is administered onto the wound, recent studies have introduced versatile approaches to smart wound dressings capable of interacting with wound fluids to monitor physicochemical and pathological parameters to determine the wound healing status. Such electrochemical wound dressings can be integrated with on-demand, closed-loop drug delivery or stimulation systems and ultimately expanded into an ideal technological platform for the prevention, treatment, and management of skin wounds or illnesses. This article briefly reviews the wound healing mechanism and recent strategies for effective wound care management. Specifically, this review discusses the following aspects of smart wound dressings: sensor-integrated smart bandages to detect wound biomarkers, smart bandages developed to accelerate wound healing, and wireless, closed-loop automatic (on-demand) wound healing systems. This review concludes by providing future perspectives on effective wound care management.

벽체일체형 자연순환 태양열온수기의 동적거동과 열성능에 관한 실증연구 (An Empirical Study on the Thermal Performance and Dynamic Behavior of Wall Integrated Thermosiphon Solar Water Heater)

  • In this study, the evaluation of the dynamic behavior and thermal performance of the "Façade integrated Natural circulation Solar Water Heating System" installed in the residential house was carried out. Experimental tests were performed during the all year around in the rural houses of $166m^2$ in size. Facade integrated solar collector of $5m^2$ were installed on the south-facing. Electrical heater of 1 kW capacity as an auxiliary heater was installed at the upper part of the heat storage tank. The analyzing results are as follows. (1) Monthly average solar fraction was 51 to 87% and yearly average value is 64%. (2) Hot water supply temperature in December which has the lowest solar altitude is 37 to $76^{\circ}C$. The highest working fluid temperature of solar collector in this period was below $84^{\circ}C$. The temperature difference of working fluid between the collector inlet and outlet has been shown to be around 9 to $26^{\circ}C$. (3) Overheating which is one of the biggest problems during summer did not appear at all, but rather had hot water supply temperature is rather low as $30{\sim}47^{\circ}C$ in summer than winter, which is supplied by a small solar load. The solar collecting temperature has been shown to maintain below $55^{\circ}C$. (5) The thermal performance of Facade integrated solar collector can be increase due to the reduction of heat loss to the back of the collector wall integration of the collector is reduced. As a conclusion, Facade integrated natural circulation type Solar Water Heating System is a well-functioning without any pumps or controllers, and it was found that the disadvantages of conventional solar water heaters, hot water or hot water system can be greatly improved.

  • 본 연구에서는 터널 내 콘크리트 도상을 모사하여 현장실험을 수행하였다 그리고 도시철도터널 내 콘크리트도상의 반사소음을 저감하기 위한 다중국소공명 흡음판의 이론적 평가항목과 한계를 고려하여 허용한계를 연구하였다. 본 연구결과는 도시철도 터널 구간에서의 차량 주행속도에 따른 유동 영향에 의한 흡음판의 흡음계수를 분석하고, 구조안정성을 효율적으로 평가할 수 있는 최대 변위와 변위가 속도 및 동적특성인 감쇠비와 고유진동수를 효과적으로 도출할 수 있는 계측시스템을 제안한다.

  • 마이크로 컴퓨터 계측 및 제어 시스템을 설계 제작하여 프로그램에 의해 온도 및 무게를 자동(自動) 측정(測定)하고 on-off작동(作動)에 의한 온도 제어와 D/A변환기(變換機)를 부착(附着)한 접속장치(接續裝置)로 풍량을 필요에 따라 자동 제어할 수 있었다. 건조 실험에 관여하는 변수들의 기록과 분석을 컴퓨터화 함으로써 수분감량(水分減量)을 일일이 칭칭량법(稱量法)으로 측정하 는번거로움과 시간을 절약할 수 있었다. 더욱이 계측(計側) 과정에서 건조계(乾燥系)를 전혀 흐트려뜨리지 않게 함으로써 건조가 완료될 때까지 건조환경을 그대로 유지할 수 있었고 자료의 채취시간도 프로그램을 통하여 임의(任意)로 설정하여 조절(調節)할 수 있어 건조실험을 완전 자동화할 수 있었다. 또한 건조 진행중에 software적으로 풍속을 변화시켜 건조를 행한 결과 건조 초기에는 풍속이 건조속도에 크게 영향을 미치나 건조 말기에는 영향이 적었다.

FDR를 위한 RDWT에 의한 주파수 추정 기법 (Frequency Estimation Method using Recursive Discrete Wavelet Transform for Fault Disturbance Recorder)

  • A wide-area protection intelligent technique has been used to improve a reliability in power systems and to prevent a blackout. Nowadays, voltage and current phasor estimation has been executed by GPS-based synchronized PMU, which has become an important way of wide-area blackout protection for the prevention of expending faults in power systems. As this technique has the difficulties in collecting and sharing of information, there have been used a FNET method for the wide-area intelligent protection. This technique is very useful for the prediction of the inception fault and for the prevention of fault propagation with accurate monitoring frequency and frequency deviation. It consists of FDRs and IMS. It is well known that FNET can detect the dynamic behavior of system and obtain the real-time frequency information. Therefore, FDRs must adopt a optimal frequency estimation method that is robust to noise and fault. In this paper, we present comparative studies for the frequency estimation method using IRDWT(improved recursive discrete wavelet transform), for the frequency estimation method using FRDWT(fast recursive discrete wavelet transform). we used the Republic of Korea 345kV power system modeling data by EMTP-RV. The user-defined arbitrary waveforms were used in order to evaluate the performance of the proposed two kinds of RDWT. Also, the frequency variation data in various range, both large range and small range, were used for simulation. The simulation results showed that the proposed frequency estimation technique using FRDWT can be the optimal frequency measurement method applied to FDRs.

전기철도 집전장치의 아크량에 따른 비디오 이미지 분석 (Video Image Analysis in Accordance with Power Density of Arcing for Current Collection System in Electric Railway)

  • This paper presents an analysis methods for current collection quality in catenary system by means of video image based monitoring system. Arcing is the sparking at the interface point between pantograph and contact wire when the electric trains have traction current values at speed. Percentage of arcing at maximum line speed is measurable parameters for compliance with the requirements on dynamic behaviour of the interface between pantograph and contact wire in accordance with requirement of IEC and EN standards. The arc detector and video is installed on a train aim at the trailing contact strip according to the travel direction. The arc detector presented and measured verity of value such as the duration and power density of each arc and the video image is measured a image when the arc is occurred in pantograph. In this paper we analysis of video image in accordance with power density of arcing from arc detector and compared with video image and power density of arcing so as to produce quality of arcing from image.

A new method for optimal selection of sensor location on a high-rise building using simplified finite element model

  • Deciding on an optimal sensor placement (OSP) is a common problem encountered in many engineering applications and is also a critical issue in the construction and implementation of an effective structural health monitoring (SHM) system. The present study focuses with techniques for selecting optimal sensor locations in a sensor network designed to monitor the health condition of Dalian World Trade Building which is the tallest in the northeast of China. Since the number of degree-of-freedom (DOF) of the building structure is too large, multi-modes should be selected to describe the dynamic behavior of a structural system with sufficient accuracy to allow its health state to be determined effectively. However, it's difficult to accurately distinguish the translational and rotational modes for the flexible structures with closely spaced modes by the modal participation mass ratios. In this paper, a new method of the OSP that computing the mode shape matrix in the weak axis of structure by the simplified multi-DOF system was presented based on the equivalent rigidity parameter identification method. The initial sensor assignment was obtained by the QR-factorization of the structural mode shape matrix. Taking the maximum off-diagonal element of the modal assurance criterion (MAC) matrix as a target function, one more sensor was added each time until the maximum off-diagonal element of the MAC reaches the threshold. Considering the economic factors, the final plan of sensor placement was determined. The numerical example demonstrated the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

  • When and Where, What kind of agricultural products will be produced and provided for the market? It is a commercial requirement, and also an academic questions to remote sensing technology. Crop physiology analysis and growth monitoring are important elements for precision agriculture management. Remote sensing technology supplies us more selections and available spaces in this dynamic change study by producing images of different spatial, spectral and temporal resolutions. Especially, the hyperspectral remote sensing should do play a key role in crop growth investigation at national, regional and global scales. In the past five years, Chinese academy of sciences and Japan NTT-DATA have made great efforts to establish a prototype information service system to dynamically survey the vegetable planting situation in Nagano area of Japan mainly based on remote sensing data. For such concern, a flexible and light-duty flight system and some practical data processing system and some necessary background information should be rationally made together. In addition, some studies are also important, such as quick pre-processing for hyperspectral data, Multi-temporal vegetation index analysis, hyperspectral image classification in support of GIS data, etc. In this paper, several spectral data analysis models and a designed airborne platform are provided and discussed here.
