Gaze Mirroring-based Intelligent Information System for Making User's Latent Interest (사용자의 잠재적 흥미를 인식하기 위한 주시 모방 모델 기반의 지능형 정보 시스템)

  • The information system that preserves and presents information collections, records, processes, retrievals, is applied in various fields recently and is supporting man's many activities. Conventional information systems are based on the reactive interaction model. Such reactive systems respond to only specific instructions, i.e. the defined commands, from the user. To go beyond the reactive interaction, it is necessary that the interactive dynamic interaction based information system which understands human's action and intention autonomously and then provides sensible information adapted to the user. Therefore, we propose a Gaze Mirroring-based intelligent information system for making user's latent interest using the internal state estimation methods based on the interactive dynamic interaction. Then, the proposed Gaze Mirroring method is that an anthropomorphic agent(avatar) actively established the joint attention with the user by imitating user's eye-gaze behavior. We verify that the Gaze Mirroring can elicit the user's behavior reflecting the latent interestand contribute to improving the accuracy of interest estimation. We also have confidence that the Gaze Mirroring promotes the self-awareness of interest. Such a Gaze Mirroring-based intelligent information system also provides suitable information to user by making user's latent interest using the internal state estimation.

RSPM : Storage Reliability Scheme for Network Video Recorder System (RSPM : NVR 시스템 기반의 저장장치 신뢰성 향상 기법)

  • Network Video Recorder becomes popular as a next generation surveillance system connecting all cameras and video server in network environment because it can provide ease of installation and efficient management and maintenance. But in case of data damage, the storage device in traditional NVR has no recovery scheme and it is disabled in processing real-time requests. In this paper, we propose an Reliable Storage using Parity and Mirroring scheme for improving reliability on storage device and maintaining system on realtime. RSPM uses a Liberation coding to recover damaged multimedia data and dynamic mirroring to repair corrupted system data and to maintain real-time operation. RSPM using the Liberation code is 11.29% lesser than traditional file system and 5.21% less than RSPM using parity code in terms of loss rate of damaged multimedia data.

  • Automatic Video Surveillance System (AVSS) has become important to computer vision researchers as crime has increased in the twenty-first century. As a new branch of AVSS, baggage detection has a wide area of security applications. Some of them are, detecting baggage in baggage restricted super shop, detecting unclaimed baggage in public space etc. However, in this paper, a detection & classification framework of baggage is proposed. Initially, background subtraction is performed instead of sliding window approach to speed up the system and HSI model is used to deal with different illumination conditions. Then, a model is introduced to overcome shadow effect. Then, occlusion of objects is detected using proposed mirroring algorithm to track individual objects. Extraction of rotational signal descriptor (SP-RSD-HOG) with support plane from Region of Interest (ROI) add rotation invariance nature in HOG. Finally, dynamic human body parameter setting approach enables the system to detect & classify single or multiple pieces of carried baggage even if some portions of human are absent. In baggage detection, a strong classifier is generated by boosting similarity measure based multi layer Support Vector Machine (SVM)s into HOG based SVM. This boosting technique has been used to deal with various texture patterns of baggage. Experimental results have discovered the system satisfactorily accurate and faster comparative to other alternatives.

Validation of Actuator Gearbox Accelerated Test Method Using Multi-Body Dynamics Simulation (다물체 동역학 시뮬레이션을 이용한 작동기용 기어박스 가속시험법 검증)

  • Gearboxes designed for reciprocating motion operating mechanisms operate under conditions where both the load and speed undergo continuous variations. When conducting durability tests on gearboxes designed for such applications, operating the target gearbox under conditions similar to the intended usage is essential. The gearbox must be operated for the required number of cycles to validate its durability under conditions mirroring its intended usage. This study devised an accelerated test method for gearboxes, which reduces operating angles and operational strokes. The reliability of the accelerated test was verified by comparing the stresses imposed on the gears under general and acceleration conditions through multi-body dynamic simulations. The results confirmed that the maximum contact stress levels under normal and accelerated conditions were within a 0.1% error range, indicating a minimal difference in the gear damage rates. However, a difference in the maximum contact stress results between the normal and accelerated conditions was observed when inertial forces acted on the output shaft due to the operational acceleration of the gearbox. Therefore, when conducting this acceleration test, caution should be exercised to ensure that the operational load on the gearbox, which affects inertia, does not significantly deviate from the conditions observed under normal operating conditions.
