The purpose of this research is to obtain and analyze dynamic responses from human volunteers for the development of the human-like mechanical or mathematical model for Korean males in automotive rear collisions. This paper focused on the introduction to a low-speed rear impact sled test involving Korean male subjects, and the accumulation of the motion of head and neck. A total of 50 dynamic rear impact sled tests were performed with 50 human volunteers, who are 30-50 year-old males. Each subject can be involved in only one case to prevent any injury in which he was exposed to the impulse that was equivalent to a low-speed rear-end collision of cars at 5-8 km/h for change of velocity, so called, ${\Delta}V$. All subjects were examined by an orthopedist to qualify for the test through the medical check-up of their necks and low backs prior to the test. The impact device is the pendulum type, tuned to simulate the crash pulse of a real vehicle. All motions and impulses were captured and measured by motion capture systems and pressure sensors on the seat. Dynamic responses of head and T1 were analyzed in two cases(5 km/h, 8 km/h) to compare with the results in the previous studies. After the experiments, human subjects were examined to check up any change in the post medical analysis. As a result, there was no change in MRI and no injury reported. Six subjects experienced a minor stiffness on their back for no more than 2 days and got back to normal without any medical treatment.
We analyzed dynamic-strain perturbations applied to a fiber Bragg grating. The fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer was used, and by analyzing the interference signal wecould obtain the frequency and relative amplitude information of the dynamic-perturbation. The minimum detectable dynamic-strain using the system was ~9.5 nstrain RMS/.root.(Hz) at 500 Hz. Also we proposed and demonstrated a new method which uses a temperature-discriminating dual-trating sensor head. With the method, we could measure the dynamic -strain as well as static-static-strain even for the case in which the optical pathe difference modulation was applied.
This paper presents an implementation of a gramar of Dynamic Syntax for Japanese. Dynamic Syntax is a grammar formalism which enables a parser to process a sentence in an incremental fashion, establishing the semantic representation. Currently the application of lexical rules and transition rules in Dynamic Syntax is carried out arbitrarily and this leads to inefficient parsing. This paper provides an algorithm of rule application and partitioned parsing state for efficient parsing with special reference to processing Japanese, which is one of head-final languages. At the present stage the parser is still small but can parse scrambled sentences, relative clause constructions, and embedded clauses. The parser is written in Prolog and this paper shows that the parser can process null arguments in a complex sentence in Japanese.
Human can generate various posture and motion with nearly 350 muscle pairs. From the viewpoint of mechanisms, the human skeleton mechanism represents great kinematic and dynamical complexity. Physical and behavioral fidelity of human motion requires dynamically accurate modeling and controling. This paper describes a mathematical modeling, and dynamic simulation of human body. The human dynamic model is simplified as a rigid body consisting of 18 actuated degrees of freedom for the real time computation. Complex kinematic chain of human body is partitioned as 6 serial kinematic chains that is, left arm, right arm, support leg, free leg, body, and head. Modeling is developed based on Newton-Euler formulation. The validity of proposed dynamic model, which represents mathematically high order differential equation, is verified through the dynamic simulation.
This paper introduces a dynamic walking control of biped walking robot using intelligent sensor interface and shows an intelligent control method for biped walking robot. For the dynamic walking control of biped walking robot, serious motion controllers are used. They are main controller(using INTEL80C296SA MPU), sub controller(using TMS320LF2406 DSP), sensor controller(using Atmega128 MPU) etc. The used sensors are gyro sensor, tilt sensor, infrared sensor, FSR sensor etc. For the feasibility of a dynamic walking control of biped walking robot, we use the biped walking robot which has twenty-five degrees of freedom(D.O.F.) in total. Our biped robot is composed of two legs of six D.O.F. each, two arms of five D.O.F. each, a waist of two D.O.F., a head of one D.O.F.
Changes in substructure conditions, such as ballast fouling and subgrade settlement may cause the railway quality deterioration, including the differential geometry of the rails. The objective of this study is to develop and apply a hybrid cone penetrometer (HCP) to characterize the railway substructure. The HCP consists of an outer rod and an inner mini cone, which can dynamically and statically penetrate the ballast and the subgrade, respectively. An accelerometer and four strain gauges are installed at the head of the outer rod and four strain gauges are attached at the tip of the inner mini cone. In the ballast, the outer rod provides a dynamic cone penetration index (DCPI) and the corrected DCPI (CDCPI) with the energy transferred into the rod head. Then, the inner mini cone is pushed to estimate the strength of the subgrade from the cone tip resistance. Laboratory application tests are performed on the specimen, which is prepared with gravel and sandy soil. In addition, the HCP is applied in the field and compared with the standard dynamic cone penetration test. The results from the laboratory and the field tests show that the cone tip resistance is inversely proportional to the CDCPI. Furthermore, in the subgrade, the HCP produces a high-resolution profile of the cone tip resistance and a profile of the CDCPI in the ballast. This study suggests that the dynamic and static penetration tests using the HCP may be useful for characterizing the railway substructure.
III.
수신기는 X-band RF head 모듈, Ka-band RF head 모듈, 그리고 공통 IF모듈로 구성되며 X-band와 Ka-band의 각 신호는 IF 모듈의 스위칭에 의해 선택되어진다.
This paper presents a finite element method to analyze the free and forced vibration of a hard disk drive (HDD) considering the flexibility of a spinning disk-spindle with fluid dynamic bearings (FDBs), an actuator with pivot bearings, an air bearing between head-disk interface and the base with complicated geometry. Finite element equation of each component is consistently derived with the satisfaction of the geometric compatibility of the internal boundary between each component. The spinning disk, hub and FDBs are modeled by annular sector elements, beam elements and stiffness and damping elements, respectively. The actuator am, E-block, suspension and base plate are modeled by tetrahedral elements. The pivot bearing in the actuator and the air bearing between head-disk interfaces are modeled by the stiffness element with five degrees of freedom and the axial stiffness, respectively. A global matrix equation obtained by assembling the finite element equations of each substructure is transformed to a state-space matrix-vector equation, and both damped natural frequencies and modal damping ratios are calculated by solving the associated eigenvalue problem with the restarted Arnoldi iteration method. Modal and shock testing are performed to show that the proposed method well predicts the vibration characteristics of a HDD.
Half-beads of multi-layer-steel cylinder head gaskets take charge of sealing of lubrication oil and coolant between the cylinder head and the block. Since the head lifts off periodically due to the combustion gas pressure, both the dynamic sealing performance and the fatigue durability are essential for the gasket. A finite element model of the halfbead has been developed and verified with experimental data. The half-bead forming process was included in the model to consider the residual stress effects. The model is employed to assess the dependence of the sealing performance and the fatigue durability on the design parameters of half-bead such as the width and height of bead and the flat region length. The assessment results show that the sealing performance can be enhanced without significant deterioration of the fatigue durability in a certain range of the half-bead width. In the other cases the improvement of sealing performance is accompanied by the loss of the fatigue durability. Among three parameters, the bead width has the strongest influence.
