Purpose - The study is primarily aimed at framing "Position Descriptions" for some key positions in the executive cadre of the testing department of CESC Limited. Research design, data, and methodology - The questionnaire, interview, and observation methods have been used for the purpose of data collection. The position descriptions are validated by superiors belonging to the respective departments. Results - It has been found that there is overlapping of job duties and job responsibilities in the department. This overlapping is quite alarming for the organization and may even become a hurdle in the path of its progress. It can be seen as a classic case of de-layering. Conclusions - The study concludes that good communication along with interpersonal and negotiation skills are absolutely essential to facilitate the performance of the day-to-day duties of a job, including handling the union, solving IR related issues, development of the subordinates, job setting, distribution and allocation, etc. Position descriptions will help in the alignment of the employee direction, and can be a useful tool to aid the communication between management and employees.

In spite of recent advances in ballasted railway track, the correct choice of ballast for rail track is still considered critical because aggregates progressively deteriorate under traffic loading and environmental exposures. Various ballast requirements, functions and duties have been defined by researchers, railway companies and countries' regulations even though it needs to be integrated to make following proper decision during track operation and maintenance. A proper understanding of ballast properties and suitable tests are prerequisites for minimizing maintenance costs. This paper presents a capable classification for ballast characteristics which need to be investigated beforehand to such a way, firstly to assign ballast functions, secondly need to clarify ballast requirements, thirdly to map appropriate tests to evaluate ballast characteristics and then it must be such that if ballast cannot carry out one of these duties, be able to call there is ballast defect. The paper is structured in order to achieve these objectives.

Objective:The objective of this study is to review the exposure limits in the legislation, guidelines, and standards for human vibration in Korea. Background: There have been relatively less interests in vibration than other risk factors in Korea. However, the importance of vibration is increasing as industry and everyday life are more mechanized. Method: Various enforcements were examined including legislation, guidelines, and standards for whole-body vibration and localized vibration. Results: No exposure limits were found in legislation, guidelines, and standards for the human vibration in Korea. Conclusion: It is important to introduce new duties regarding vibration risks to the general duties. Further studies are expected on the vibration exposure limits appropriate for Korean people and job conditions. Application: The results from this study would be of help to induce more interests in human vibration to the occupational health and safety professionals of Korea.

We investigated the unequivalence of Food Sanitation law, School Foodservice law and recent reports studied about hazard analysis critical control point(HACCP) system. We also found out that cook's duties were expressed several times in the standard job classification in Korea national statistical office based by the international labor organization(ILO) since 1963, but not ever in the Food Sanitation law and School Foodservice law. Based on these investigations We propose clear expression of cook's duties in the Food Sanitation law and School Foodservice law, and enactment of regulation or law of Cook to reduce any possible food poisonings. However these proposals need to be studied and improved in many different ways for the revision and enactment of the law of cook.

High-voltage gas-insulated circuit-breaker must interrupt short-circuit current successfully when breakdown occurs in electric power system. Among many test-duties, Basic Terminal fault T100a(BTF T100a) is the one of the severest duties because of its high DC component of short-circuit current. In this paper, we developed 245kV 50kA gas circuit breaker using control circuits to reduce DC component while interrupting short-circuit current, then got good performance through high-power tests in Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute(KERI) and KEMA

Purpose - This paper examines whether the imposition of countervailing duties by the United States on undervalued foreign currency is legally consistent with the WTO's SCM Agreement. Design/methodology - The study uses a methodology that involves analyzing relevant WTO agreements, prior panel reports, Appellate Body decisions, and other legal documents. Findings - The findings suggest that to impose countervailing duties, certain legal requirements must be met, including financial contribution, benefit, and specificity. The paper also notes that when calculating the benefits of undervalued foreign currency, losses from import activities due to currency undervaluation must be considered. Additionally, classifying all exports to the US under specific industries or business groups is likely to be inconsistent with the SCM Agreement. Originality/value - Even the US countervailing measures on exchange rate subsidies may not comply with WTO regulations due to incorrect calculation of benefits and a lack of specificity, however, it suggests that when intervening in the foreign exchange market, the measures should aim to achieve only minimum policy goals.

Purpose: This study was performed to establish the role and to analyze the job of MFICU (Maternal Fetal Intensive Care Unit) nurses using DACUM (Developing a curriculum). Methods: A DACUM workshop was held to define MFICU nurses' role and identify their duties and tasks. A DACUM committee was consisted of 7 nurses, 2 nursing professors and 1 medical doctor and as a result, a survey was developed which contained duties and tasks of MFICU nurse. Pre-test was carried out for the validity, finally collected the data from 97 nurses who worked at 7 MFICU and 10 delivery room. Results: A total of 60 duties, 115 tasks and 822 elements of tasks were defined on the DACUM chart and survey. The importance, frequency and difficulty of the tasks were presented the determinant coefficient (DC), the highest DC duty was 'Manage maternal ventilator' (15.09) and the lowest DC was 'Provide nursing care for leisure to gestation extension mother' (6.52). Twenty-eight tasks were differentiated between MFICU and delivery nurses significantly. And the most important, frequently, difficulty task perceived by MFICU nurse was 'Check fetal heartbeat with electronic fetal heart monitor'. Conclusion: The organized educational program and policy was needed to develop for MFICU nurses.

Purpose: Developing a curriculum(DACUM) is a method of analyzing job focused competency, which is obtained from the data of an expert belonging to a certain career. In this study the DACUM method was used to analyze the jobs of operating room nurses. Method: Through the DACUM workshop which was arranged by two DACUM facillitators, a definition of the role of operating room nurses was developed and then duties and tasks of operating room nurses' were identified. For the workshop, a DACUM committee with 10 operating room nurses was organized. Finally, the duties and tasks which were identified were validated by 422 nurses for importance, difficulty and frequency. Results: Thirteen duties and 105 tasks were identified on the DACUM chart, where importance, difficulty, and frequency of tasks were represented by alphabet letters A, B, and C as higher degree of importance. The determinant coefficient(DC) showed that the most important duty was assisting with operations(DC=6.61), and the least, managing operating materials(DC=4.22). For tasks, the most important ones were assisting in orthostatic surgery(DC=7.60), and assisting in thoracic surgery(DC=7.38), and the least important making gauze ball(DC=2.39), and saving of operation site((DC=3.27). Conclusion: The results suggest a need to develop an education program using the DACUM chart as a basis for the development and as a clinical career ladder and for curriculum of operating room nursing.

산업현장에서 직무를 수행하기 위해 요구되는 지식 기술 소양 등의 교육훈련 내용을 체계화하여 직무를 성공적으로 수행할 수 있도록 하는 직무능력표준 개발은, 재교육을 통해 재차 투자되는 시간과 비용의 해결과 산업현장에서 요구하는 양질의 인력을 양성할 수 있다는 점에서 그 필요성이 대두되었다. 본 연구는 국가직무능력표준(NCS) 분류체계를 기준으로 세분류 중 업무와 직무를 1:1로 분류한 경호분야에 대하여 직무수행자를 중심으로 한 교육훈련과정 개발을 위해, 실제업무와의 '상관성'과 경과의 '적용성' 및 비용과 시간에 대한 '효율성'이 고려되는 작업자 중심 직무분석인 DACUM 기법과 국가직무능력표준(NCS) 개발 매뉴얼을 활용하여 경호분야 교육의 현장적합성을 제고하고, 산업체가 요구하는 실질적인 교육훈련과정 개발을 제안한다.
