A Naming Technique of the MPEG-4 Object for the Quick Search of the Scene Graph (씬 그래프의 빠른 탐색을 위한 MPEG-4 객체 Naming 기법)

  • 재생기에서 MP4 파일을 재생하기 위해서는 Drawing 정보와 Routing 정보가 필요하다. 기존의 저작도구에서의 객체 Naming은 그 객체와는 상관없이 단순히 문자열과 숫자의 조합으로 되어 있고 실제 화면상에 기술되는 객체의 ID값을 부여하는 방법이었다. 객체 Naming을 구현하는 객체 ID 설정이 이러한 방법이었기 때문에 재생기에서 객체 정보를 구하려면 Scene 그래프를 반복해서 검색하는 load가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 load를 줄이기 위해서 비트 연산을 이용한 각 객체의 ID를 부여함으로써 각 객체에 속하는 Attribute의 ID가 자신의 실제 객체의 ID를 추론할 수 있는 방법으로 객체에 대한 Naming을 구현하였다. 이러한 객체 Naming 기법으로 설정된 객체의 ID값은 비트 연산과 시프트 연산을 이용해서 객체 정보를 구할 수 있기 때문에 Scene 그래프 탐색 load를 줄일 수 있다.

  • 3차원 정보를 바탕으로 실제 세계의 장면이나 물체를 비사실적으로 표현하기 위한 방법으로 비사실적 이미지 렌더링(Non-Photorealistic: NPR)기법을 사용하고 있다. 현재 기존의 2차원에서의 NPR기법을 기반으로 3차원에 확장된 방법까지 다양한 표현방법이 연구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 3차원의 물체를 사람이 직접 그린 듯한 표현에 중점을 둔 3차원 카툰렌더링 효과를 나타내기 위한 효과적인 기법을 제안한다. 이러한 카툰렌더링 표현은 현실세계의 3차원 정보를 인간에게 보다 감각적이고 효과적으로 전달 할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 비사실적 이미지 표현에서 가장 기본이 되는 실루엣 에지를 추출하고, 추출한 실루엣 에지를 표현하기 위한 효과적인 방법을 제시하여 보다 핸드 드로잉(hand drawing)에 가까운 카툰 렌더링(Cartoon Rendering)을 실시간으로 나타내는데 중점을 두고 있다.

  • Wireless power transfer technology is using the magnetic resonance recently drawing increased attention. It uses the resonance between transmitter and receiver coils to transfer power. Thus, it can improve the transfer distance and efficiency compared with the existing magnetic induction technique. The authors found from the previous study that the application of the superconductor coil to the magnetic resonance wireless power transfer system improved its efficiency. Its application to real life, however, requires the additional study on the effects of adjacent materials. In this study, the two resonance coils made by superconductor coils were used to aluminum and plastic shielding materials was placed between the coils. S-parameters were analyzed according to the position of the shielding material between the transmitter and receiver coils. As a result, the plastic of shielding material had no effect, but the aluminum of shielding material affected the wireless power transfer due to the shielding effectiveness.

  • This paper presents development of practical and universal program that is applied to ${\pi}$ loop system which is based on basic algorithm of network optimization for reduction investment cost and rationalization of underground plan. This system is ease to input and modify about information of powerline drawing, that is, can input easily condition of their calculation referring to candidate of underground apparatus under using digitizer.

  • To keep enterprise's competitiveness on condition of the automatic manufacturing system such as FA, FMS and CIM, all the maintenance problems should be considered seriously in not only production and maintenance but also related Industrial safety. As we analyze in the surveys for the maintenance management of domestic enterprises and the causes of industrial accident, there will be necessity of drawing up countermeasures for prevention of industrial accidents and for ensuring expertise maintenance technologies. Based on these analyses, this study studied the safety information system, maintenance management information system, and the machinery condition diagnosis technique by using of the knowledge-based system under the internet environment. This web based knowledge-based diagnosis system can easily provide not only the knowledge of expert about deterioration phenomenon of industrial robot, but also the knowledge of relating safety and facility on everywhere, everytime. Therefore, when we use this system, it is expected to improve the efficiency of business processes in the production and safety.

  • Three recent developments made at Rensselaer in sheet material forming processes are briefly reviewed in this paper. These advances represent three broad disciplines of Process Simulation, Forming Processes, and Computer-Aided Measurement Methods. The first development deals with simple and quick computer simulation of 2D sheet forming process without depending on popular finite element analysis methods. An analytical method based on a thin shell theory accounts for bending and unbending effects, and is capable of simulating practical sheet metal forming processes under the plane strain condition. The second area is concerned with innovative methods to improve formability of sheet materials by temperature gradient forming. The drawing limit is increased by such an improved temperature gradient forming process. The third and final area deals with a totally new experimental technique to capture 3D geometry data and measure strain distributions of sheet metal parts using a digital 35mm SLR camera.

  • In this study, we focused on investigation of governing parameters affected on the fatigue properties in the hyper-eutectoid steel wires used for TBR tires. Steel wires are fabricated under different drawing strain from 3.36 to 3.80. Their diameters are 0.21 mm and 0.185mm, respectively. The fatigue properties was measured by hunter rotating beam tester, specially designed thin-sized steel wires. The results showed that the fatigue properites of steel wire, marked as A-1, were greater than the others, due to the low value of residual stress. In order to elucidate the variations of fatigue properties, the microstructure, surface defect and residual stress were observed and measured by useful analysis technique, such as TEM, 3D profiler and FIB.

  • Tube hydroforming is recently drawing attention of automotive industries due to its several advantages over conventional methods. It can produce wide range of products such as subframes, engine cradles, and exhaust manifolds with cheaper production cost by reducing overall number of processes. h successful tube hydroforming depends on the reasonable combination of the internal pressure and axial load at the tube ends. This paper deals with the optimal process design of hydroforming process using the genetic algorithm and neural network. An optimization technique is used in order to minimize the tube thickness variation by determining the optimal loading path in the tube expansion forming and the tube T-shape forming process.

Development of Automatic Cutting Tool Selection Program (절삭 공구 자동 선정 프로그램 개발)

  • The computer related techniques have been developed rapidly in the field of metal removal industry. The electronic catalog for mechanical elements is one of such developments realized in recent years. As the emergence of the electronic catalogs in the 90s, it breaks the restriction of the traditional catalog and becomes a helpful and efficient tool in the field. In this paper, we develop an electronic catalog for the cutting tools of the Korea Tungsten Co. Ltd. The catalog consists of three parts: a preprocessor for tool selection, a database for tool, and a postprocessor for search result. A preprocessor for tool selection is developed under a user-friendly consideration. A database for tool consists of milling, drilling, and reaming tools with a list of cutters, inserts, and components. A postprocessor for search result consists of weight, dimension. drawing, product order number etc. of the tools. It also suggests the optimized cutting condition of the selected tool using a neural network technique which is done by an independent research group.

  • In this paper, we describe a method for precisely measuring the abrasion of the railway using an image processing technique. To calculate the wear of the rails, we provided a method for accurately matching the standard rail profile data and the profile data acquired by the rail inspection vehicle. After the lens distortion correction and the perspective transformation of the measured profile data, we used ICP Algorithm for accurate profile data matching with the reference profile extracted from the standard rail drawing. We constructed the prototype of the Rail Profile Measurement System for High-speed Railway and the experimental result on the three type of the standard rail used in Korea showed the excellent profile matching accuracy within 0.1mm.
