폐광산지역의 오염특성 조사와 평가를 위한 지구화학적 접근방법 (Geochemical Approaches for Investigation and Assessment of Heavy Metal Contamination in Abandoned Mine Sites)

  • 본 논문에서는 폐광산지역의 오염특성 조사와 평가를 위한 지구화학적 접근방법에 대하여 정리ㆍ기술하였다. 폐광산지역의 주요 오염원은 갱내수, 광석, 광미 및 선광을 위해 사용한 화학약품 등이고 산성광산배수의 배출, 광산폐기물의 유실, 유해성 침출수의 배출, 광미와 분진의 분산 등에 의해 중금속이 이동/확산되어 주변토양, 퇴적물, 지표수, 지하수, 생태계에 광역적/지속적으로 심각한 영향을 미친다. 따라서 오염원, 주변 토양, 지표수, 지하수 등에 대한 화학분석, 광물학적분석, 광산산성배수 예측실험, 물리/지화학탐사와 같은 현장실험 등의 방법을 이용한 조사를 통해 폐광산이 주변 환경에 미치는 잠재적이고 실제적인 영향이 조사$.$평가 되어야한다.

  • Wetlands provide vital habitats for fish and wildlife while offering numerous other benefits. As in some other countries, however, Taiwan has witnessed the loss of a significant portion of its coastal wetlands due to large-scale reclamation projects along the coast. Most of the wetlands that still remain are seriously being threatened by both human activities and natural changes, such as drainage for agricultural production, filling for industrial development, discharge of wastes and drought. The administrative performance of the existing authorities and legislation in Taiwan has mostly been ineffective in protecting these precious, sensitive areas. This paper introduces the distribution of wetlands in Taiwan and highlights their invaluable functions and potential economic value. It also discussed the recent activities, both initiated by the government and the NGOs, to protect wetlands in Taiwan. Based on the above discussion, the paper identifies the wide-range of current problems related to their management and proposes the vision should have to save wetlands for the future. It argues that establishing clear policies and effective institutional mechanisms on wetland protection and conservation, classifying the wetlands for better management, and fully promoting public awareness and consciousness of the importance of the wetlands will not only be beneficial but will also address the urgent need to safeguard the wetlands in Taiwan. Additionally, the paper recognizes that international cooperation and collaboration on wetland restoration is essential and most challenging.

도시유역의 부유고형물 유출평가를 위한 쓸림모형 개발 (A Development of Washoff Model for Suspended Solids in Urban Areas)

  • Suspended Solid (SS) is one of the main pollutants and discharges with attached other pollutants such as heavy metal and toxic substance. It is very important to estimate and forecast the release characteristics of SS for water quality improvement. The current studies assumed that SS release rate is proportional to the rain intensity and suggested exponential washoff models. These models related to the shear force of flow. In this study, a new washoff model is suggested based on relation with SS release rate and mean flow rate of the basin surface which is closely related to the shear force. The proposed model is applied to the Goonja drainage district in Seoul, Korea. The new washoff model simulates the SS discharge more accurately in the various rainfall types. The model can be widely applied to the real problems such as the management of non-point source pollutant and the design of treatment facilities.

단위유량도합성을 위한 Snyder 계수의 조정 (Revision of Snyder's Coefficient for Synthesizing Uint Hydrograph)

  • 유역 추적에 자주 쓰이는 합성 단위 유량도 방법의 일종인 Snyder 방법에 있어서의 계수를 남한강 수계에서 재조정하는 과정을 제시하였다. 그 과정은, 과거의 조사에서 구한 남한강 수계의 Snyder 공식에서 초기값을 구한 다음, 이 값을 HEC-1 모델에 적용시켜 계수를 재조정한 후에 그 계수로부터 Snyder의 개선공식을 구하게 된다. 이와 같은 과정으로 구한 개선 공식은 기존 공식에 비해 계산 수문 곡선의 첨두 유량의 크기가 커지게 되며, 첨두 유량에 도달하는 기울기도 기존 공식보다 급격하게 되는 특성을 가지게 된다. 또한 첨두 유량이 발생하는 시간을 결정하여 주는 지체 시간이 기존 공식에 비해 개선 공식에서 작게 되기 때문에 첨두 유량이 발생되는 시간도 개선 공식을 사용하게 되면 기존 공식을 사용한 경우보다 더 빨라지게 된다.

도시유역의 건기시 유량변동 경향분석 (Trend Analysis of Discharge Variation in Urban Drainage during the Dry Period)

  • 우기시 도시하천으로 유입되는 합류식 관거의 월류수에 의한 오염부하량에는 평상시의 기본 하수량 및 오염부하량이 포함되기 때문에 이에 대한 사전 평가가 필수적이다. 또한, 장기유출에 있어서 건기시 하수유량 및 처리수의 방류량은 중요한 요소로서 현재 실무에서 사용하고 있는 SWMM, STORM 모형에서 기본값으로 제시되고 있는 건기시 유량에 대한 시간 및 일하수량비는 외국의 자료를 바탕으로 한 계수값으로서 이에 대한 검토 및 평가가 필요하다. 따라서, 이 연구에서는 국토해양부 도시홍수재해관리기술연구단에서 운영중인 서울 군자 배수구역의 일년간 건기유량 관측자료를 활용하여 요일별, 시간별 평균유량을 산출하였으며, 그 경향성 분석을 분석하였다. 또한, 기존 모형에서의 기본값들과의 비교를 통하여 그 적정성을 검토하고 국내 자료에 근거한 시간 및 일하수량비를 제시하였다. 시간별 일하수량비의 경우에서는 STORM 모형과는 다소 상이하였으나 SWMM 모형과는 비교적 그 경향이 일치하였다. 관측자료의 분석결과에 의하면 $23{\sim}06$시까지의 시간별 하수량이 매우 적은 것으로 분석되었으며 이는 해당 시간대에 유동인구가 적은 군자 배수구역의 특징을 잘 반영한 것으로 판단된다. 한편, 요일별 일하수량비를 비교한 결과 기존모형의 경우에서 보다 주말기간에는 상대적으로 큰 값을 나타내는 상이한 패턴을 보였다. 이 연구 결과는 다양한 도시 배수구역의 일하수량 경향의 분석을 통하여 도시유출 특성분석과 하수관거의 설계 및 관리에 유용한 자료로 활용될 것으로 판단된다.

마이크로 관류수차의 상수도 관로시스템 적용에 관한 연구 (Application of Micro Cross-Flow Turbine to Water Supply System)

  • Recently, micro hydropower and it's useful utilization are taking a growing interest as a countermeasure of global worming by carbon dioxide and exhaustion of fossil fuel. The purpose of this study is to investigate the possibility of extracting micro hydropower wasted by a valve in water supply system using micro cross-flow hydraulic turbine. In order to fulfill the functions of controlling flow rate and pressure in substitute for the valve, air and water are supplied into an air suction hole which is installed on the side wall of micro cross-flow hydraulic turbine. The results show that in case of supplying a lot of air into the air suction hole, about 50% of flow rate and relatively high value of loss coefficient are controlled by the turbine. Moreover, including high possibility of applying the micro cross-flow turbine to water supply system, extended application of the turbine to the water discharge system of drainage and irrigation canal.

고지재상연구 (제5보) -공정수 폐쇄화를 위한 칼슘경도 조절- (Recycling of Wastepaper(V): -Calcium Hardness Control of Process Water for Zero-Discharge System-)

  • A new technique for recycling of white water was developed in order to reduce the calcium hardness in a closed OCC recycling system. Calcium ions present in the white water were precipitated as calcium carbonate by reacting with sodium carbonate, and the precipitated $CaCO_3$ was removed from the system using a flotation fractionation method, which has been commonly used in deinking process. In the flotation stage, a mixed gas of $CO_2$-air was purged into the flotation cell because the pH of $Na_2CO_3$-treated white water was reduced to neutral by $CO_2$ gas. Since $CaCO_3$ precipitate tends to stick onto fine fiber surface and then selectively removed from the white water, a proper amount of suspended solid in white water acts as an important factor for deciding the removal efficiency. By the application of $Na_2CO_3$ addition-$CO_2$ flotation to the short circulated white water, the calcium hardness was significantly reduced by 87% and more. Removal of calcium ions with fine fibers led to a drainage improvement, reduction of fresh water consumption, and enhanced efficiency of wet-end chemicals.

만삭 크기 거대 난소 낭종의 복강경 적출술 (Laparoscopic Extirpation of the Term Sized Huge Ovarian Cyst)

  • A 23 years old single nulligravida woman underwent laparoscopic removal of a huge cystic adnexal mass that occupied her entire abdomen, giving the appearance of a full term pregnancy. After anesthesia, a vertical infra-umbilical incision, 1 cm long, was made and a telescope was introduced through the port to determine the status of the intra-abdomen and the surface contour of the mass. A needle tipped with a laparoscopic suction apparatus was inserted into the cyst through the infra-umbilical port, directly under the mass. Subsequently, 3,200 ml of cystic fluid was aspirated without spillage. A huge cyst, reaching to the level of the xyphoid process was effectively excised through the operative laparoscopy after prelaparoscopic drainage. Operation time was 140 minutes and hospital stay was 2 days. There were no complications during hospital stay and after discharge. It seems the size of the cyst is not a criteria for the contraindication of laparoscopic surgery.

  • In general, the hollow jet valve, the fixed cone valve had been used for the urgency released or maintenance of the flow rate. Nowadays, the butterfly valve, the gate valve are applied in economic performance and operation maintenance more than the hollow jet valve, the fixed cone valve. However, in the case of butterfly valve, it should be required the strict application standard to the cavitation coefficient because the structural axis and disk were situated in pipe channel and the occurring the shock problem by Karman Vortex. And, the judgment data for choice were slight lowdown in water supply and drainage facilities standard or Japanese penstock technology standard, various standard of KOWACO etc. Therefore. there were investigated the valve inside phenomenon (cavitation, disk chattering, vibration) by velocity of flow and the stability examination of body by high velocity of flow through flow scale model test using the numerical analysis and PIV to establish the applicable extensibility of the butterfly valve for the urgency released valve.

소아 폐염 환자에서 시행한 흉부 물리치료의 효과 (Effect of Chest Physical Therapy in Pediatric Patients)

  • Object: We evaluated the efficacy of chest physical therapy in pediatric patients with pneumonia. Method: Retrospective study was performed in 89 pneumonia patients admitted to pediatric unit. The subjects were divided into two groups: control group; treatment group. Control group included 42 patients who didn't receive chest physical therapy. Treatment group included 47 patients who received chest physical therapy. The chest physcial therapy employed were postural drainage, chest percussion, deep breathing training and enhancement of coughings. The efficacy was evaluated by x-ray outcome before discharge. Results: There were no significant difference in age, sex, type of pneumonia, and symptom duration between two groups. However the duration of fever after admission, duration of antibiotic use and hospital stay were longer in treatment group. In treatment group, longer the day to initiate chest physical therapy, longer the hospital stay. The final outcome was not different between groups. Conclusion: The results suggest that the referred patients for chest physical therapy tends to be of severe cases. Nevertheless, the result that the outcome was not different in two groups means that the chest physical therapy could be used as a effective treatment method in pediatric patient with pneumonia.
