In this paper, we have proposed a new internal model control structure (IMC). It is aimed at unstable overactuated multivariable systems whose transfer matrices are singular and unstable. The model inversion problem is essential to understand this structure. Indeed, the precision between the output of the process and the setpoint is linked to the quality of the inversion. This property is preserved in the presence of an additive disturbance at the output. This inversion approach proposed in this article can be applied to multivariable systems with no minimum phase or minimum phase shift with or without delays in their transfer matrices. It is proven by an example of simulation through which we have shown its good performance as a guarantee of stability, precision as well as rapidity of system responses despite the presence of external disturbances and we have tested this control structure in the frequency domain hence the robustness of the IMC.
The present research deals with the deformation in transversely isotropic thin circular thermoelastic rotating plate due to time-harmonic sources. Frequency effect in the presence of rotation and two temperature is studied under thermally insulated as well as isothermal boundaries. The Hankel transform technique is used to find a solution to the problem. The displacement components, stress components, and conductive temperature distribution with the radial distance are computed in the transformed domain and further calculated in the physical domain using numerical inversion techniques. Some specific cases are also figured out from the current research.
Bayesian inversion for gravity and resistivity data was performed to investigate the cavity structure appearing as a lava tunnel in Cheju Island, Korea. Dipole-dipole DC resistivity data were proposed for a prior information of gravity data and we applied the geostatistical techniques such as kriging and simulation algorithms to provide a prior model information and covariance matrix in data domain. The inverted resistivity section gave the indicator variogram modeling for each threshold and it provided spatial uncertainty to give a prior PDF by sequential indicator simulations. We also presented a more objective way to make data covariance matrix that reflects the state of the achieved field data by geostatistical technique, cross-validation. Then Gaussian approximation was adopted for the inference of characteristics of the marginal distributions of model parameters and Broyden update for simple calculation of sensitivity matrix and SVD was applied. Generally cavity investigation by geophysical exploration is difficult and success is hard to be achieved. However, this exotic multiple interpretations showed remarkable improvement and stability for interpretation when compared to data-fit alone results, and suggested the possibility of diverse application for Bayesian inversion in geophysical inverse problem.
We introduce and analyze a frequency-domain method for parabolic partial differential equations. The method is naturally parallelizable. After taking the Fourier transformation of given equations in the space-time domain into the space-frequency domain, we propose to solve an indefinite, complex elliptic problem for each frequency. Fourier inversion will then recover the solution in the space-time domain. Existence and uniqueness as well as error estimates are given. Fourier invertibility is also examined. Numerical experiments are presented.

A set of experiments (Shallow Water 2006, SW06) was carried out in shallow water near the New Jersey shelf break in summer 2006. Significant fluctuations in direct and surface reflected arrivals were observed from the chirp data (1100~2900 Hz) measured on a vertical line array. This paper presents a geoacoustic inverssion technique for short-range acoustic data with fluctuating arrivals and inversion results of experimental data. In order to reduce effects of random sea surface on the inversion, the acoustic energy back-propagated from the array to the source through direct and bottom-reflected paths is defined as the objective function. A multi-step inversion scheme is applied to the data using VFSR (Very Fast Simulated Reannealing) optimization technique. The inversion results show a source depth oscillation period equal to the measured ocean surface wave period. The inverted bottom sound speed is 1645 m/s and is similar to that estimated by other work at the same site.
The objective of this paper is to study the two dimensional deformation in transversely isotropic thermoelastic medium without energy dissipation due to time harmonic sources using new modified couple stress theory, a continuum theory capable to predict the size effects at micro/nano scale. The couple stress constitutive relationships have been introduced for transversely isotropic thermoelastic medium, in which the curvature tensor is asymmetric and the couple stress moment tensor is symmetric. Fourier transform technique is applied to obtain the solutions of the governing equations. Assuming the deformation to be harmonically time-dependent, the transformed solution is obtained in the frequency domain. The application of a time harmonic concentrated and distributed sources have been considered to show the utility of the solution obtained. The displacement components, stress components, temperature change and couple stress are obtained in the transformed domain. A numerical inversion technique has been used to obtain the solutions in the physical domain. The effects of angular frequency are depicted graphically on the resulted quantities.

A gearing system emits inconsistent noises from the impact of gear teeth when defects are present, but it is not easy for a noise inspector on a production line to distinguish defective products objectively. Since customers constantly complain about various noises from geared motors, it is desirable to devise an analytical technique to classify motors. However, it is difficult to separate inconsistent noises due to defective gears from the overall noise produced by a geared motor using a general signal processing method such as a FFT because low frequency impulse signals have a tendency not to appear in the frequency domain. In this paper, we propose a method that can be used to obtain more objective estimates and measurements of inconsistent noises from a gearing system. The proposed method makes use of the cepstrum domain with an applied autocorrelation and comb lifter, followed by a domain inversion.
Here, in this research we have studied a two dimensional problem in a homogeneous orthotropic magneto-thermoelastic medium with higher order dual-phase-lag heat transfer with combined effects of rotation and hall current in generalized thermoelasticity due to time harmonic sources. As an application the bounding surface is subjected to uniformly distributed and concentrated loads (mechanical and thermal source). Fourier transform technique is used to solve the problem. The expressions for displacement components, stress components and temperature change are derived in frequency domain. Numerical inversion technique has been used to obtain the results in physical domain. The effect of frequency has been depicted with the help of graphs.
A single sideband(SSB) modulator operating at 5.5 GHz was fabricated by polarization inversion techniques. The dimension of domain inversion in a $LiINbO_3$ Mach-Zehnder structure was precisely controlled so that the RF signal applied on two Mach-Zehnder arms gives rise to $90^{\circ}$ effective phase difference. The single sideband suppression was maximized by optimization of the polarization status of the optical input and by the DC bias value. The fabricated device showed the center frequency of 5.8 GHz and the maximum sideband suppression of 33dB, where the bandwidth of 15 dB sideband suppression ranged over a 2.5 GHz span. The optical phase delay could be regulated by the DC bias voltage, fur example, the enhanced optical modulation sideband was distinctively switched from the upper sideband to the lower sideband by changing the DC bias voltage from 1.9 V to -10.6 V.
The complex resistivity method is an exploration technique that can obtain various characteristic information of underground media by measuring resistivity and phase in the frequency domain, and its utilization has recently increased. In this paper, a three-dimensional inversion algorithm for the CR data was developed to increase the utilization of this method. The Poisson equation, which can be applied when the electromagnetic coupling effect is ignored, was applied to the modeling, and the inversion algorithm was developed by modifying the existing algorithm by adopting comlex variables. In order to increase the stability of the inversion, a technique was introduced to automatically adjust the Lagrangian multiplier according to the ratio of the error vector and the model update vector. Furthermore, to compensate for the loss of data due to noisy phase data, a two-step inversion method that conducts inversion iterations using only resistivity data in the beginning and both of resistivity and phase data in the second half was developed. As a result of the experiment for the synthetic data, stable inversion results were obtained, and the validity to real data was also confirmed by applying the developed 3D inversion algorithm to the analysis of field data acquired near a hydrothermal mine.
