Objectives: The purpose of this research was to find out the efficacy of Castanea crenata Inner Shell (CCIS) distilled herbal medicine on the skin by comparing the difference effect between only simple distilled water and the CCIS distilled herbal medicine application after MTS (microneedle therapy system) treatment. Methods: The present author performed once a week and total 4 times of MTS treatment. The treatment time took about 5~10 minutes and the depth of the needle was adjusted according to the participant's skin condition. In the control group, simple distilled water was applied after MTS and in the experimental group, CCIS distilled herbal medicine was applied. One week after each treatment, the change of skin condition was measured. Two weeks after the end of the clinical trial, the skin condition was checked again. Results: In the case of the test group, there was a significant decrease in pore size and there was a significant increase in U-zone oil, skin tone and elasticity. The test group using distilled herbal medicine showed a significant effect on facial skin compared to the control group using only simple distilled water. Conclusion: Distilled herbal medicine showed an effective action on facial skin. In the case of CCIS distilled herbal medicine, it was found to have a significant effect on U-zone oil content, skin tone, pores, and skin elasticity.

Objectives: We investigated the safty of distilled Astragali Radix Herbal Acupuncture, Wild Ginseng Herbal Acupuncture and Rehmannia glutinosa Herbal Acupuncture on vital sign -BP, pulse, resperation-in adult man. Methods : We investigated on 106 healthy volunteers consisted of each 30 subjects in experiment (distilled Astragali Radix Herbal Acupuncture, Wild Ginseng Herbal Acupuncture and Rehmannia glutinosa Herbal Acupuncture) group and 30 subjects in control(Normal Saline) group. Study form was a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind clinical trial. 30 subjects in each experiment group were injected distilled Astragali Radix Herbal Acupuncture, Wild Ginseng Herbal Acupuncture, Rehmannia glutinosa Herbal Acupuncture at $GB_{21}$(Kyonjong) and 30 subjects in control group were injected Normal Saline at $GB_{21}$ (Kyonjong). except of 2 subjects(in control group) who can't be measured and 10 subjects(6 in experiment group and 4 in control group) who move or make unforceable error during measuring. Finally each 25. subject, subject, subject in experiment group and 24 subject in control group are studied. We measured resperation by PolyG-I and BP & pulse by electric manometer on 5 times : before injection per 5 minutes during and after injection per 10 minutes during 35 minutes. The SPSS 13.0 for windows was used to analyze the data and the Student t test(between two groups) were used to verify the result. Results : 1. After distilled Astragali Radix Herbal Acupuncture injection, Wild Ginseng Herbal Acupuncture and Rehmannia glutinosa Herbal Acupuncture , systolic BP is not significantly change in all experiment time. 2. After distilled Astragali Radix Herbal Acupuncture injection, Wild Ginseng Herbal Acupuncture and Rehmannia glutinosa Herbal Acupuncture , diastolic BP is not significantly change in all experiment time. 3. After distilled Astragali Radix Herbal Acupuncture injection, Wild Ginseng Herbal Acupuncture and Rehmannia glutinosa Herbal Acupuncture , pulse is not significantly change in all experiment time. 4. After distilled Astragali Radix Herbal Acupuncture injection, Wild Ginseng Herbal Acupuncture and Rehmannia glutinosa Herbal Acupuncture , resperation is not significantly change in all experiment time. Conclusions : The results suggest that distilled Astragali Radix Herbal Acupuncture, Wild Ginseng Herbal Acupuncture and Rehmannia glutinosa Herbal Acupuncture in healthy adult man don't influence vital sign within normal range. This result is derived from that distilled Astragali Radix Herbal Acupuncture, Wild Ginseng Herbal Acupuncture and Rehmannia glutinosa Herbal Acupuncture in healthy adult man are safety.

To study stability of distilled herbal medicine, we chose changes in UV spectrum, pH, conductivity, and HPLC chromatogram. Aconiti Lateralis preparata Radix and Scutellariae Radix were selected and studied. There ws no consistancy in UV spectrums of preparatons and in duration. The changes in pH and conductivity were not correlated to those in UV spectrums. HPLC chromatograms were also compared each other depending on the preparations. One interesting peak of distilled Aconiti solution was appeared at 40 min retention time which was not identified yet. Ingeneral, UV spectrum, pH, conductivity measurements are pretty poor tool to study stability of herbal medicine although HPLC analysis should be studied further.

The SPSS 10.0 for windows was used to analyze the data and the paired t-test(in group) and Student t-test(between two groups) were used to verify the result. Result : 1. After distilled Wild Ginseng Herbal Acupuncture injection, Mean HRV is significantly low only for first 5 minute, SDNN is significantly high after 5 minute, Complexity is significantly low after 5 minute, HRV index is significantly high after 10 minute and pNN50 is significantly low after 5 minute. 2. SDNN of distilled Wild Ginseng Herbal Acupuncture Group significantly increased from 20minute to 25minute, and pNN50 of distilled Wild Ginseng Herbal Acupuncture Group significantly decreased from 10minute to 15minute and 20 minute to 30 minute compared with those of Normal Saline group. 3. After distilled Wild Ginseng Herbal Acupuncture injection, Ln(TP), Ln(VLF) and Ln(LF) are significantly high after 5 minute, normalized LF is significantly high after 5 minute and normalized HF is significantly low after 5 minute. 4. Ln(TP) and Ln(VLF) of distilled Wild Ginseng Herbal Acupuncture Group significantly increased from 20minute to 25 minute compared with those of Normal Saline group. Conclusion : The results suggest that distilled Wild Ginseng Herbal Acupuncture in healthy adult man tend to activate the autonomic nervous system and sympathetic nervous system compared to Normal Saline within normal range.

After distilled Astragali Radix Herbal Acupuncture injection, Ln(TP) is significantly high from 5 minute to 10 minute and from 15 minute to 30 minute. Ln(VLF) is significantly high after 5 minute, Ln(LF) is significantly high after 15 minute and Ln(HF) is significantly high from 5 minute to 10 minute and 25 minute to 30 minute, but significantly low for first 5 minute and from 10 minute to 20 minute. Normalized LF is significantly high after 20 minute and Normalized LF is significantly low after 20 minute. Conclusions : The results suggest that distilled Astragali Radix Herbal Acupuncture in healthy adult man tend to activate the autonomic nervous system within normal range. This result is derived from that parasympathetic nervous system was continuously activated and sympathetic nervous system was activated a little later.

Objectives: Hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) is defined as severe nausea and vomiting during pregnancy (NVP) with weight loss, ketonuria, and electrolyte imbalance. Many NVP or HG patients get hard to take herbal medicine since the smell and taste of it. Therefore, the distilled herbal medicines are often used in clinical practice. A 32-year-old, 14-week pregnant female was admitted for 3 weeks at a Korean medicine hospital. She was experiencing HG accompanied by 19.61% (10 kg) weight loss, ketonuria, and electrolyte imbalance. The patient received Bosaeng-tang gagambang in its distilled form, acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, sticker needles, cupping, moxibustion, and hydration during admission. The severity and frequency of NVP, weight loss, and ketonuria significantly improved without any side effects. Before the therapy, she admitted to two obstetrics and gynecology hospitals, 1 week each, with no improvement. This case presents the therapeutic potential of Korean medicine including herbal medicine in its diluted form for HG and NVP.

Objective : To compare and examine how adjustment of pH and electrolyte can affect the efficacy of cultivated wild ginseng distilled herbal acupuncture, we've administered pure cultivated wild ginseng distilled herbal acupuncture and pH and electrolyte adjusted cultivated wild ginseng distilled herbal acupuncture on A549 human lung cancer lines. Then mRNA and proteins which take parts in apoptosis were examined. Methods : Pure cultivated wild ginseng distilled herbal acupuncture treated group was set as the control group and pH and electrolyte adjusted cultivated wild ginseng distilled herbal acupuncture groups were administered on A549 human lung cancer lines. Cell toxicity was carefully examined and from the analysis of DNA fragmentation, RT-PCR, and Western blot, manifestation of mRNA and proteins which are associated with apoptosis were inspected. Results : The following results were obtained on apoptosis of A549 human lung cancer lines after administering pH and electrolyte adjusted cultivated wild ginseng distilled herbal acupuncture. 1. Measuring cell toxicity of lung cancer cells, higher cell toxicity was detected at pH and electrolyte adjusted groups and the results were concentration dependent. 2. Through DNA fragmentation, we were able to confirm cell destruction in all groups. 3. Experiment groups treated with cultivated wild ginseng distilled herbal acupuncture showed inhibition of Bcl-2 and COX-2 at mRNA and Protein level, whileas increase of Bax was shown. 4. Manifestation of p21, p53, Cyclin E, and Cyclin D1 were confirmed in all groups. 5. Extrication of Cytochrome C was detected at all groups, as well as increased activity of the enzyme caspase-3 and caspase-9, and PARP fragmentation were confirmed. Conclusions : From the above results, we can carefully deduce cell destruction of A549 human lung cancer lines were induced by Apoptosis. At the same concentration level, cell destruction efficacy was better with adjusted pH and electrolyte. Cultivated wild ginseng distilled herbal acupuncture also showed decrease of Bcl-2 and COX-2, as well as increase of Bax. Since cultivated wild ginseng distilled herbal acupuncture increases manifestation of p21, p53, Cyclin E, and Cyclin D1, it affects cellular cycle and through these phenomena, we can consider extrication of Cytochrome C, increase of caspase, and PARP fragmentation are the results.

Objective : In order to measure the efficacy of cultivated wild ginseng distilled herbal acupuncture by concentration level, we've treated A549 human lung cancer lines with different concentrations of cultivated wild ginseng distilled herbal acupuncture and examined mRNA and proteins which take parts in apoptosis. Methods : A549 human lung cancer lines were treated with various concentration levels of cultivated wild ginseng distilled herbal acupuncture and cell toxicity was carefully examined. From the analysis of DNA fragmentation, RT-PCR and Western blot, manifestation of mRNA and proteins which are associated with apoptosis were inspected. Objectives : This study was to verify the effects of distilled cultivated wild ginseng herbal acupuncture(CWGHA) on diabetes by hematological analysis. Methods : Rats were fed with high fat diet for 8 weeks and the rats with hyperglycemia were selected for the experiment. Various treatments of distilled cultivated wild ginseng herbal acupuncture were administered intravenously and glucose, ${\beta}-lipoprotein,$ triglyceride, total-cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, Free Fatty acid(FFA), TBARS, superoxide dismutase(SOD), catalase and glutathione peroxidase activities in the liver were analyzed. Results : 1. Experiment group 3(0.1 ml of CWGHA was injected intravenously 10 times) showed significant decrease in serum glucose, ${\beta}-lipoprotein,$ triglyceride, LDL-cholesterol levels and liver TBARS compared to the control group, whileas showed significant increase in liver glutathione peroxidase activity. 2. Experiment group 2 and 3 (treated with 0.5 ml, 1 ml, respectively), showed significant decrease in serum FFA, total cholesterol and TBARS levels compared to the control group, and showed significant increase in liver superoxide dismutase and catalase activities. 3. Serum HDL-cholesterol didn't show significant changes in both experiment and control groups. Conclusions : Above results indicate that distilled cultivated wild ginseng herbal acupuncture plays significant role as a hypoglycemic agent and in lipid metabolism. Increase in the number of administrations yielded more significant results.
