  • We have applied self-assembled monolayer to make high performance and stable OTFT on the organic gate dielectric. The ${\beta}$-phenethyltrichlorosilane (SAM) was coated on the organic gate dielectric and then active layer was printed. Significant improvements in on-currents and threshold voltage shift were achieved for the SAM treated devices compared to device without SAM.

  • In this study, a high luminous efficacy AC-PDP panel with long discharge gap and grooved dielectric layer has been studied. By applying this high efficacy concept and optimized driving waveform featuring negative biased sustain, ${\sim}2.6lm/W$ of luminous efficacy was achieved in 42- inch HD panel. Modified fabricating process and new discharge cell structure were investigated to obtain improved uniformity and operating characteristics.

  • A single-clock-driven shift register and a two-stage buffer are proposed, using p-type, low-temperature polycrystalline silicon thin-film transistors. To eliminate the clock skew problems and to reduce the burden of the interface, only one clock signal was adopted to the shift register circuit, without additional reference voltages. A two-stage, p-type buffer was proposed to drive the gate line load and shows a full-swing output without threshold voltage loss. The shift register and buffer were designed for the 3.31" WVGA ($800{\times}480$) LCD panel, and the fabricated circuits were verified via simulations and measurements.

  • Display and art have different purposes. But they share a common mean, so-called artistic experience. These two formative business that seeks the profit as a commercial design, it has some relationship with art in the aspect of socialization of pursuit of aesthetics. Although the historical status and directivity of display have not been established systemiically yet, and aesthetic expansion of displace is uncertain it would be effective that the present and future of display art is connected with art history in the view of dynamic state of art history. In this thesis, the issues such as what is the relationship between display and art history or whether display can be mentioned as a formative art were analyzed by matching them with the trends in art history like naturalism, high tech, minimalists and so on. Modern display is a commercial design that can be developed in various ways and that is related to the as development of art history.

  • We propose a wheel screen type Lamina 3D display, which realizes a 3D image that can satisfy the accommodation cue by projecting volumetric images encoded by varying polarization states to a multilayered screen. The proposed system is composed of two parts: an encoding part that converts depth information to states of polarization and a decoding part that projects depth images to the corresponded diffusing layer. Though the basic principle of Lamina displays has already been verified by previous studies, those schemes suffered from a bottleneck of inferior resolution of the 3D image due to the blurring on the surfaces of diffusing layers in the stacked volume. In this paper, we propose a new structure to implement the decoding part by adopting a form of the wheel screen. Experimental verification is also provided to support the proposed principle.
