Because of their simplicity, efficiency, and economy, slow sand filters are appropriate means of water treatment for small water systems. In this study, the effect of filtration velocity and dirty skin (Schmutzdecke) was evaluated on the performance of turbidity removal. Also, removal characteristics of particulate were investigated in the case of the usage of non-woven fabric on the surface of sand and the application of PCF as pretreatment process. Comparative column tests were carried out for the various operation condition. From the result of column tests, filtration velocity had little effect on the turbidity removal rate. The formation of algal biofilm on the surface of media is helpful in turbidity removal, while non-woven fabric is not as effective as expected. The relative contribution of biomass and accumulated particulates to head loss development in slow sand filters requires further study.

One case of Congenital Cutis Aplasia is presented. The defect involved includes full-thickness skin defect of scalp and cranium. The patient was treated with debridement of dirty necrosed crust which covered exposed dura mater and with double opposing rotation flap including pericranium for bone regneration. The donor site was covered with skin graft from right thigh. During operation, the superficial temporal arterty was found to be short and weak. And after operation, the margin of flap were congested and finally necrotized. The necrotic wound was treated with conservative management. The vascular impairment is thought to be main course of Congenital Cutis Aplasia. So we conclude that the treatment of choice is conservative management or careful flap surgery for coverage of defect area.

The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for improvement in worker's uniform in both scientific and efficient ways. To make this procedure right, we brought the focus of the study into the present condition of working uniform in various machinery plants. The study was enforced by questionnaire and personal interview. The subjects of the survey were the 264 workers working in mechanical industry in Seoul. The results obtained from the researches by methods above are as follows. The level of satisfaction, on the whole, with their uniforms failed to reach the average level with the result of 2.97. The reason would be they have not been very contented with colors and materials. The level of satisfaction of color was only 2.76, far less reaching the average score 3. In detail, they complained color is dull, dark, too much solid and outdated. Surprisingly, the level of satisfaction with materials turned out to be really low as the materials used get dirty easily, doesn't draw moisture away from the skin quickly transport to surface making wearer more comfortable and doesn't have plenty of air moving out. According to statistics of population, the level of satisfaction of uniform on the whole differed from the point of age, gender, categories of industry, one's professional experience and income level.

Tae-yeul is the baby's disorder inheritted by its mother during fregnancy. This is due to its mother's overeating hot, fatty food and taking harmful medicine. So internal physical fever is accumulated in mother's body, and it heats up the placenta and the umbilical cord. Generally, this disorder means the skin disease that is occurred from $2{\sim}5$ months to 1 year after birth. It is specialized by the dirty oozing, a severe itching and the rash at its head and face. It is similar in its symptoms such as atopic dermatitis in western medicine. Recently, this disease has the increasing tendency of prevalence rate because of the bad atmosphere and the invironmental pollution. The results were summerised as follows; 1, 2, 3, 4 1. The causes of Tae-yeul are summarized by fragnat woman's contacting a cool air, overating a hot and toxic food and taking emotional shock. 2. The symptoms of Tae-yeul are the edema on upper eyelids, stifling convulsions, flush, the fever of one side body, the asthma of sputum increase, the yawing of the tired mind, the bowl complaint, the red urine and urination disturbance. 3. In the treatment method of Tae-yeul, its mother feed her milk after taking a madicine. So one must expect to be treated slowly. If one tries to treat it with a cool madicine quickly, it can cause vomitting or a serious disorder. 4. In the prescription of Tae-yeul, they used a Moktongsan, a Chiwhnagtang, an Yangyoubang, a Tojuksan, a Whangyunsan, a Juryungtang and a Kamdutang, etc.. For the method of cleaning face or bathing, they used Sasungsan, Whanbaekpijuntang. 5. Tae-yeul including Naesun, Taelyumchang, yousun, etc. is similar to the atopic dermatitis of western medicine in its symptoms.

Two cases of classical swine fever (CSF) disease have broken out in Cheolwon (7 April, 2002). The suspected pig herds were huddled together because of high fever (over $40^{\circ}C$) and showed remarkable decrease of the leukocytes. The staggering gait related to posterior weakness, constipation and lethargy, hyperemia, hemorrhagic lesions (on the skin, muzzle, ears, limbs, tail and inner part of legs) and conjunctivitis with dirty streaks below the eyes were observed. The inflammation in the lung, infarction in the spleen, swelling and hemorrhage in lymph nodes, kidney, intestine, heart and cheese like purulent inflammation of the tonsil were observed. The ulcers of the colon were also detected. Several clinical and laboratory techniques including blood test, histo-pathological examinations, indirect fluorescent antibody (IFA) test and RT-PCR test were applied to diagnose the disease. Inoculation test on PK-15 cell was also performed. The necrosis of the lymphatic cells and infiltration of the vessel circumferential cells in the brain and lymph organs were commonly viewed. The proliferation of the glia cell (gliosis) in the lymph was particular. Cytopathogenic effect (CPE) and specific fluorescent-bright-green areas (with IFA) appeared in PK-15 cells inoculated with suspected blood plasma. The IFA test on the epithelial and mucous membrane cells of tonsil was positive. RT-PCR technique required more working hours and labor than other techniques in this examination but it was useful because of the sensitivity to the CSF viral gene.

The purpose of this study is to examine the value of grotesque fashion and to predict the future fashion trend. The grotesque originates the formative art. It emerges towards of a century or transitional period in most case. In particular, it was used as the expressive method of an individual's inside and a satire on society through the work of artists in the Middle Age, the renaissance, the sym-bolism, the dadaism, the surrealism, the pop art, the technology art, and the post-modernism, etc. The grotesque in fashion is represented in the work of avant-garde fashion designers who lead the high fashion. The grotesque fashion which was combined with an image of non-formality, non-rationality, an absurdity and reality. It has been begun shape of female dress in the renaissance. Afterwards, it was represented in extremely exaggerated and distorted pop art, hippies' fashion in the 1960's. In the 1970's, it was reflected in genderless rock star and destructive punk fashion. It was also represented in the androgynous fashion which was combined with both sexes, the goth/gothic fashion which was expressed with a realistic and fanciful shape and the tattoo of skin-head in the 1980's. In the 1990's, the grungy look which was dirty and the cyber punk fashion. In general, it was also expressed by the avant-garde fashion designers. To sum up, a grotesque fashion which is expressed by experimental designers is classified into four shapes. 1, Union of some extraneous is expressed as different kinds of fashion theme, such as abnormality of texture, uses of surrealistic elements and chaos of sex. Although it appears that the abnormal union of grotesque has only discord and collision, it also shows a feeling of freedom for the tension. 2. Introduction of real and fanciful image is expressed as a cyborg, realistic description of disgusting animal skin and aggressive shape. Especially, it is worth while to notice Tierre Mugler and Alexander Macqueen's work which expressed the shape of mingling human of Middle Age. 3. distortion or exaggeration is expressed as an unformed shape, the exaggeration of a clothing size, the abnormal exaggeration of human body and the ignorance of clothing form. 4. Introduction of a disgusting image is expressed as an extremity of reality, motifs of death, clothing material of disgusting hair and the ostentation of sex. Motto which leads modern fashion is something new and shocking. The grotesque fashion is an expression of eagerness for something new. It often show something ironic in the form of humor which is embedded in an abnormal and shocking pattern. The grotesque fashion is represented as an extreme beauty. It will stand as an important element of the future fashion and as a particular style with the change and fluidity.
