파랑하중에 대한 인터로킹 케이슨 방파제의 미끌림 안정성 평가식 제안 (Proposal of Sliding Stability Assessment Formulas for an Interlocking Caisson Breakwater under Wave Forces)

  • 기후변화에 따른 설계파고를 초과하는 이상파랑의 내습 가능성이 커지면서 항만구조물의 안정성 확보가 시급한 실정이다. 이러한 변화에 능동적으로 대응하기 위하여 기존 방파제에 대한 평가기준과 신설 장대형 방파제의 설계기준이 점차 강화되면서 인터로킹 케이슨 방파제에 대한 관심이 대두되고 있다. 하지만 현재까지는 항만 및 어항 설계기준 해설[부록] 개정안에 장대형 케이슨에 발생하는 파력 평활화 효과가 제시되어있을 뿐 인터로킹 케이슨 방파제의 안정성을 평가하기 위한 방법이 별도로 제시되어 있지 않다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 선형파 이론에 기초하여 경사 입사하는 파랑의 작용 위치별 위상차의 효과를 고려하고, 최대 파력분포는 설계기준의 Goda 파압식을 적용하여, 규칙파, 불규칙파 및 다방향 불규칙파에 대한 인터로킹 케이슨 방파제의 미끌림 안정성 평가식을 제안하였다.

  • 인터로킹 케이슨에 의한 장대화된 방파제의 회전 안정성에 대해서 연구하였다. 무한 방파제에 경사지게 입사하는 선형파에 대한 해석해를 이용하여 방파제 기준선 방향으로의 파압 위상차 효과를 고려하였으며, 설계파의 비선형 특성을 고려하기 위하여 설계 기준 Goda 파압식을 차용하였다. 방파제의 회전 안전율을 케이슨 자중에 의한 회전 마찰저항모멘트와 수평 및 수직 파력에 의한 작용 회전모멘트의 비로 정의하고 최소 안전율을 보이는 회전 중심점 위치와 최소 안전율에 대한 해석해를 제시하였다. 규칙파, 불규칙파 및 다방향 불규칙파 등 현행 항만구조물 설계에 사용되고 있는 모든 설계파 조건에 대해서 적용 가능하도록 각 조건에 대한 평가식을 제안하였다.

Global environment change monitoring using the next generation satellite sensor, SGLI/GCOM-C

  • The Third Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concluded that many collective observations gave a aspect of a global warming and other changes in the climate system. Future earth observation using satellite data should monitor global climate change, and should contribute to social benefits. Especially, human activities has given the big impacts to earth environment This is a very complex affair, and nature itself also impacts the clouds, namely the seasonal variations. JAXA (former NASDA) has the plan of the Global Change Observation Mission (GCOM) for monitoring of global environmental change. SGLI (Second Generation GLI) onboard GCOM-C (Climate) satellite, which is one of this mission, is an optical sensor from Near-UV to TIR. This sensor is the GLI follow-on sensor, which has the various new characteristics. Polarized/multi-directional channels and 250m resolution channels are the unique characteristics on this sensor. This sensor can be contributed to clarification of coastal change in sea surface. This paper shows the introduction of the unique aspects and characteristics of the next generation satellite sensor, SGLIIGCOM-C, and shows the preliminary research for this sensor.

부인암 여성과 배우자를 위한 웹 기반 성 건강 프로그램 개발 (Development of a Web-based Sexual Health Program for Women Undergoing Treatment for Gynecologic Cancer and Their Partners)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a web-based sexual health program for women undergoing treatment for gynecologic cancer and their partners, and to evaluate the validity of the developed program. Methods: A web-based sexual health program was developed and evaluated: analysis (needs assessment on 23 patients and content analysis through literature review and web search), design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Results: The web-based sexual health program for women undergoing treatment for gynecologic cancer and their partners was structured with sexual life, sexual response cycle, change of sexual function, sexual dysfunction related to treatment, and useful method for sexual dysfunction. This program included a video to improve for understanding and a bulletin board to promote bi-directional interactions between program users and providers. Experts and users rated this program in terms of efficacy, convenience, design, relevance, and usefulness. This program contents were found appropriate and satisfactory to both experts and users. Conclusion: This web-based sexual health program for women undergoing treatment for gynecologic cancer and their partners would contribute to sexual health promotion for gynecologic cancer women and their partners.

중전기기산업 수출시장 매력도 분석 (Export Market Attractiveness Analyses of the Heavy Electric Equipment Industry)

  • This study develops the market attractiveness assessment model and draws the strategic target markets and their corresponding exporting strategies through identifying the market positions in the dimensions of market attractiveness scores and market positional strength to achieve the innovative export promotion of Korean heavy electric industry and the resulting improvement and reversal of comparative-disadvantage position. In chapter 2, we analyze the stages of selecting target markets, the constructs and their measure variables of market attractiveness models, and the components and strategic policy implications of directional policy matrix. And in chapter 3, we identify the comparative advantage positions of Korean heavy electric industry in the global market through analyzing its trade structure, trends, balance, ratio-balance, and specialization index by the item and the region respectively. We find that the Asia/Pacific region is the most attractive export market of the Korean heavy electric equipment industry, the following important strategic target markets are the America, MENA, CIS/East Europe Regions in the order of their attractiveness and competitive position dimensions. In the mean time, the sub-Sahara Africa and West Europe region is shown to be the long-run-viewpoint target market requiring the innovation or divest strategies owing to their low attractiveness and the low market share of Korean exports.

A Study on PV AC-Module with Active Power Decoupling and Energy Storage System

  • In general, electrolytic capacitors are used to reduce power pulsations on PV-panels. However, this can reduce the reliability of the PV AC-module system, because electrolytic capacitors have a shorter lifetime than PV-panels. In addition, PV-panels generate irregular power and inject it into the grid because the output power of a PV-panel depends on the surrounding conditions such as irradiation and temperature. To solve these problems, a grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) AC-module with active power decoupling and energy storage is proposed. A parallel bi-directional converter is connected to the AC module to reduce the output power pulsations of PV-panels. Thus, the electrolytic capacitor can be replaced with a film capacitor. In addition, the irregular output power due to the surrounding conditions can be regulated by using a parallel energy storage circuit. To maintain the discontinuous conduction mode at low irradiation, the frequency control method is adopted. The design method of the proposed converter and the operation principles are introduced. An experimental prototype rated at 125W was built to verify the performance of the proposed converter.

A study on possibility of land vegetation observation with Mid-resolution sensor

  • The Fourth Assessment Report of IPCC predicted that global warming is already happening and it should be caused from the increase of greenhouse gases by the extension of human activities. These global changes will give a serious influence for human society. Global environment can be monitored by the earth observation using satellite. For the observation of global climate change and resolving the global warming process, satellite should be useful equipment and its detecting data contribute to social benefits effectively. JAXA (former NASDA) has made a new plan of the Global Change Observation Mission (GCOM) for monitoring of global environmental change. SGLI (Second Generation GLI) onboard GCOM-C (Climate) satellite, which is one of this mission, provides an optical sensor from Near-DV to TIR. Characteristic specifications of SGLI are as follows; 1) 250 m resolutions over land and area along the shore, 2) Three directional polarization observation (red and NIR), and 3) 500 m resolutions temperature over land and area along shore. These characteristics are useful in many fields of social benefits. For example, multi-angular observation and 250 m high frequency observation give new knowledge in monitoring of land vegetation. It is expected that land products with land aerosol information by polarization observation are improved remarkably. We are studying these possibilities by ground data and satellite data.

컨테이너터미널의 장치장 보관능력 평가: 시뮬레이션접근 (Evaluating the Storage Capacity of a Container Terminal: A Simulation Approach)

  • There were many theoretical studies using mathematical models about a yard storage capacity in a container terminal so far, but a simulation approach is newly popularizing. The reason why the simulation studies about yard storage capacity were a few was that once the most important part in a container terminal was a quay part. However, from the economic crisis year of 1977, the yard storage part in a container terminal became a critical resource because of the shortage of SOC investment resources. Therefore, after discharging or loading even through there was a waiting in the quay part or not, it can be swiftly improved the efficiency of a container terminal if it was handled rapidly or smoothly in a container yard. So the accurate assessment of yard storage capacity in a container terminal was needed. This study planed to assess the operation capability of a container yard via a simulation model. The model included many chatacteristics of three Korean container terminals such as Gamman Hanjin, Uam, and Hutchinson Busan at the period of 1999 to 2000. The 95% percentile was chosen as a criterion for judging of the storage capability by the recommendation of KPC (1998) and JWD (1998). A simulation approach with system dynamics concept considering the multi-directional impacts within the related variables can probavly foresee the future storage capacity of a terminal not just the past.

Assessment on the Performance of Search And Rescue Service of KPS

  • COsmicheskaya Sisteyama Poiska Avariynich Sudov Search and Rescue Satellite-Aided Tracking (COSPAS-SARSAT) is an international communication support program to perform search and rescue (SAR) operations in emergency situations by using satellite signals relayed from a beacon. The legacy COSPAS-SARSAT was originally composed of low altitude and geostationary Earth orbit satellites; thus, a limited number of directional dish antennas was sufficient to cover the limited number of visible satellites at the local user terminal. However, the second generation COSPAS-SARSAT newly added the medium Earth orbit satellites, e.g., Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) to the existing system, so that the number of visible satellites increase dramatically, and the system upgrade to cover all the visible satellites is foreseen. The additional use of planned Korea Positioning System (KPS) to existing GNSS is envisaged to provide a better performance of their SAR service. This paper presents the benefits of the additional use of KPS together with the phased array antennas at the local user terminal of the COSPAS-SARSAT. This is to effectively response to the increase of the number of visible satellites. Numerical simulation is included to evaluate the performance improvement of COSPAS-SARSAT in terms of the number of visible satellites, geometry between satellites and user, and position estimation accuracy.

Analysis of the Phillips Curve: An Assessment of Turkey

  • This study analyzes the validity of the Phillips curve with regards to Turkey. The existence and direction of the causality relationship (reason-outcome relationship) between unemployment and inflation is investigated using inflation and unemployment data for the period 1980-2019. Unit root tests were utilized to evaluate the stationarity of the series. In line with the Zivot-Andrews unit root test, which was developed in response to the criticism of the failure of studies that presented macro-variables like inflation to consider traditional unit root tests, in this research, the Engle-Granger cointegration test was implemented to check whether the series could perform a joint action, and, finally, the Granger causality relationship was explored. According to the results of the analysis, over the relevant period there was a single directional causality relationship from inflation toward unemployment in Turkey. The importance of this relationship at the 10% significance level indicates the existence of many different factors that affect inflation and unemployment. Given the existence of a cointegration and causality relationship between inflation and unemployment, it can be said that, in Turkey, the Phillips curve is valid for the period 1980-2019 and that an increase of 1% in inflation will reduce the unemployment rate by 0.028%.
