ARM Code Generation System using Syntax-Directed Translation Technique (문법-지시적 변환 기법을 이용한 ARM 코드 생성 시스템)

  • ARM processors are being utilized in a variety of embedded systems. It is also that most ARM processor accepts C application, and then generates ARM assembly code using GNU gcc Cross-compiler. For the purpose of improving the quality of code generated and the efficient code generation, the various researches are underway. In this paper, we generates the ARM assembly code from the ANSI C programs using Syntax-directed Translation Techniques, and then the performance evaluation results for our research experimental compare to GNU gcc Cross-compiler are described. The techniques are presented in this research compared to GNU gcc cross-compiler very simple and convenient in extension of the production rules.

Hydroxylation of Indole by PikC Cytochrome P450 from Streptomyces venezuelae and Engineering Its Catalytic Activity by Site-Directed Mutagenesis

  • The cytochrome P450 monooxygenase from the pikromycin biosynthetic gene cluster in Streptomyces venezuelae, known as PikC, was observed to hydroxylate the unnatural substrate indole to indigo. Furthermore, the site-directed mutagenesis of PikC monooxygenase led to the mutant enzyme F171Q, in which Phe171 was altered to Gln, with enhanced activity for the hydroxylation of indole. From enzyme kinetic studies, F171Q showed an approximately five-fold higher catalytic efficiency compared with the wild-type PikC. Therefore, these results demonstrate the promising application of P450s originating from Streptomyces, normally involved in polyketide biosynthesis, to generate a diverse array of other industrially useful compounds.

인터넷을 이용한 교수 - 학습 모형에 관한 연구

  • A new way of teaching on the Internet can be called Web Based Instruction (WBI). WBI goes far above and beyond teaching in the school. It will have an impact on overall educational activity that will dramatically change many existing educational processes and persuade most teachers to change their conventional teaching methods. The main purposes of this research were to make a comparative study of academic achievement between expository lecture and web-based instruction, and to identify the difference in academic achievement of learning tasks in pre- and post- experiments of WBI. The conclusions of this study were as follows. First. there are no differences in academic achievement between expository lecture and teacher- directed web based instruction. Second, there are no differences in academic achievement between expository lecture and teacher-assisted web based instruction. Third, there is difference in academic achievement between teacher-assisted web based instruction and teacher-directed web based instruction. Fourth, there are no differences in academic achievement of reading tasks in pre- or post- experiments of teacher-directed web based instruction. On the basis of the research results and discussion, we finally present a Web-Application-Model (WAM) to encourage the usage of Internet as a useful teaching channel.

  • We propose two new classes of robust blind equalization algorithms against abrupt changes of channel conditions, which we call a triple-mode algorithm(TMA) and an automatic switch-over algorithm(ASA). The conventional DMGSA exhibits slow convergence rates due to the incorrect equalizer tap-updating process under the severe channel conditions. In order to speed up the convergence process, the TMA operates in triple-mode that is based on the dual-mode of the DMGSA incorporated with the tap-updating control modes of the SGA as well as the MSGA. Without resorting to the decision region for selecting the operation mode in the TMA, the ASA automatically switches the blind mode to the smoother conventional decision-directed mode. The ASA uses the error functional that is the weighted sum of the Generalized Sato error and the decision-directed error, where the weights correspond to the channel conditions. Test results on 16-QAM and 8-VSB datas confirm that the TMA and the ASA perform well under the sudden changes of channel conditions.

Deposition Characteristics and Mechanical Properties of Stainless Steel 316L Fabricated via Directed Energy Deposition (에너지 제어 용착을 이용한 스테인리스 316L의 적층 특성 및 기계적 물성 평가)

  • Directed energy deposition (DED) is an additive manufacturing technology involving a focused high-power laser or electron beam propagating over the substrate, resulting in melt pool formation while simultaneously supplying metal powder to the melt pool area to deposit the material. DED is performed to repair and strengthen parts in various applications, as it can be easily integrate local area cladding and cross-material deposition. In this study, we characterize stainless steel 316 L parts fabricated via DED based on various deposition conditions and geometries to widen the application of DED. The deposition characteristics are investigated by varying the laser power and powder feed rate. Multilayer deposition with a laser power of 362 W and a powder feed rate of 6.61 g/min indicate a height closest to the design value while affording high surface quality. The microhardness of the specimen increases from the top to the bottom of the deposited area. Tensile tests of specimens with two different deposition directions indicate that horizontally long specimens with respect to a substrate demonstrate a higher ultimate tensile strength and yield strength than vertically long specimens with lower elongation.

Some French and German Movies for the Multi-cultural Education at Schools (학교에서의 다문화교육을 위한 프랑스와 독일의 영화)

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the possibility of application of some French and German movies to teaching of multi-culture in elementary, middle and high schools. Three different films are selected. (2005), a French animation film directed by B?n?dicte Galup and Michel Ocelot, is appropriate for the education of understanding cultural relativity and improving multi-cultural sensitivity in elementary school. is a French short film directed by Walter Salles and Daniela Thomaso and included in omnibus style film (2006). This short film relating a story of an immigrated woman who leaves her baby in a cr?che and travels through Paris to work for a bourgeois mother can be used for developing a bond of sympathy between natives and immigrants. It is recommended for the class of junior high school. Finally (2007), a German film directed by Fatih Akin, provide a learning model for the education of multi-culture in high school classrooms. The cinematographic aesthetic of this film is focused on a process of reconciliation with others over the cultural, racial, national and generational differences. Analyzing the structure of the film and being guided by teachers the students can understand better in improving abilities to understand others.

A study of the efficient application of Discretion activity in Mathematics curriculum (수학 교과 재량활동시간의 효율적인 운영에 관한 연구)

  • For the efficient application of curriculum discretion activity, I developed the program, 'Let's go together', so that curriculum discretion activity can be applied in the classroom. The program consists of several experiences, which are <Man to man paired study>, <the learning materials for Mathematics in our lives>, <the cooperative study in the class> and <the variety experiences about Mathematics>. This study shows the following results: First, T-test about the students' learning attitude and interest in Mathematics, there was dramatic change in students' desire, interest and attitude for mathematics learning. Second, as the role of Baewomi & Dowomi in 'Man to man paired study', Baewomi & Dowomi provided students with confidence of mathematics learning. We were able to ensure this fact from students' essay after the class. Third, teachers found that the number of students who had positive attitude with Self-directed study increased. And students tried to solve mathematical problems by themselves and the time using self-directed learning experience was also increased. This study suggests that there needs more development for learning materials for mathematics in our lives.

A New Implementation of the LMS Algorithm as a Decision-directed Adaptive Equalizer with Decoding Delay

  • This paper deals with the application of the LMS algorithm as a decision-directed adaptive equalizer in a communication receiver which also employs a sophisticated decoding scheme such as the Viterbi algorithm, in which the desired signal, hence the error, is not available until several symbol intervals later because of decoding delay. In such applications the implemented weight updating algorithm becomes DLMS and major penalty is reduced convergence speed. Therefore, every effort should by made to keep the delay as small as possible if it is not avoidable. In this paper we present a modified implementation in which the effects of the decoding delay can be avioded and perform some computer simulations to check the validity and the performance of the new implementation.

  • A simple method for fabricating micro/nanoscale hierarchical structures is presented using a two-step temperature-directed capillary molding technique. This lithographic method involves a sequential application of molding process in which a uniform polymer-coated surface is molded with a patterned mold by means of capillary force above the glass transition temperature of the polymer. Using this approach, multiscale hierarchical structures for biomimetic functional surfaces can be fabricated with precise control over geometrical parameters and the wettability of a solid surface can be designed in a controllable manner.
