Design of a Self-tuning Controller with a PID Structure Using Neural Network (신경회로망을 이용한 PID구조를 갖는 자기동조제어기의 설계)

  • This paper presents a generalized minimum-variance self-tuning controller with a PID structure using neural network which adapts to the changing parameters of the nonlinear system with nonminimum phase behavior and time delays. The neural network is used to estimate the controller parameters, and the control output is obtained through estimated controller parameter. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, the computer simulation is done to adapt the nonlinear nonminimum phase system with time delays and changed system parameter after a constant time. The proposed method compared with direct adaptive controller using neural network.

  • At present, some evolutional system has been used to promote the efficiency of the DNC(Direct Numerical Control) Controller. However, these are many inconvenience to this operator because it lacks harmony in interaction between the computer and the NC(Numerical Control). Also, there are some controversial poults when data error occurs at the Data Input/output. According1y, this thesis explores a new Data Remote Control System. In this study, the NC Controller of the DNC network has to Bet full data by removing data error in this system. In this system, the main merits are easy manufacturing and the convenience of Data Input/output. That is, remote control of the NC machine tool is possible without mutual interaction between the computer and itself.

  • Wi-Fi Direct standard technology(Wi-Fi Peer to Peer Technical Specifications v1.2, 2010) was designed for allowing peer to peer communication between two or more devices and various products which have been currently manufactured such as smart phone and smart TV have already provided this technical function. In this technology the role of Coordinator in Wi-Fi infrastructure would be matched to GO(Group Owner) which needs relatively high energy resource and computation power due to the high probability for allowing 3rd-party connection, however, the current standard specification would be limited in terms of energy distribution because it has not included a process to determine the role of GO. To address above problem, this paper classified considerable parameters into the general parameters for the physicality of devices and the specific parameters for considering the role position depending on use-case scenario, and proposed a new method called DIVA to help efficiently determining GO role from the member devices of Wi-Fi Direct network. Furthermore the effect of this mechanism was proved via simulation-based experiments.

  • This paper describes a direct transfer method of multimedia data stream between multimedia processor and network device without using system memory. The hardware architecture and functions for direct transfer, the method to transfer multimedia data to and from the multimedia processor and etc are described. Comparing the proposed method with general methods, I show that the direct transfer method can decrease number of bus accesses and bus cycles.

  • In this paper we address a design problem for hub-and-spoke networks and then consider a capacitated hub locations problem with direct shipment (CHLPwD). We determine the location of hubs, the allocation of nodes to hubs, and direct shipment paths in the network, with the objective of minimizing the total cost in the network. In this paper, CHLPwD is formulated as 0-1 integer programming. We develop an evolutionary algorithm here to solve the large sized CHLPwD. To do this, we present the representation and the genetic operators suitable for the problem and propose a heuristic method for the allocation of nodes to hubs. To enhance the search capability, problem-specific information is used in our evolutionary algorithm. The proposed algorithm is compared with the heuristic method in terms of solution quality and computation time. The experimental results show that our algorithm can provide better solutions than the heuristic.

  • This paper proposes and efficient routing scheme named MP-DD(MultiPath-Direct Diffusion) which are simple enough to be applicable to the wireless sensor networks. Conventional DD(Direct Diffusion) uses only one optimal path, therefore it consumes more energy of specific nodes. MP-DD uses multiple path and has a information of hop upstream node in the direction of the base-station. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can increase network survivability compared to conventional DD and EAR(Energy Aware Routing) schemes.

  • To verify the condition of patients moving in the medical center like hospital needs to be consider the various wireless communication network protocols and network components. Wireless communication protocols such as the 802.11a, 802.11g, and direct sequence has their specific characteristics, and the various components such as the number of mobile nodes or the distance of transmission range could affects the performance of the network. Especially, the network topologies are considered the characteristic of the brain wave(EEG) since the condition of patient is detected from it. Therefore, in this paper, various wireless communication networks are designed and simulated with Opnet simulator, then evaluated the performance to verify the wireless network that transmits the patient's EEG data efficiently. Overall, the 802.11g had the best performance for the wireless network environment that transmits the EEG data. However, there were minor difference on the performance result depends on the components of the topologies.

  • For synchronous direct sequence-code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) systems, the authors propose an adaptive radial basis function (RBF) receiver with suboptimal structure that reduces not only the complexity with regard to the number of centers but also the quantity of instructions required per one bit reception. The proposed receiver is constructed with parallel RBF networks. Each RBF network has the same procedure as the conventional RBF receiver. The performance of each RBF network is affected by interferences which are assigned to the other RBF networks because neither RBF network uses the full user set. To combat these interferences, the partial IC technique is employed. Monte Carlo simulations over additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels confirm that the proposed receiver with its reduced complexity is able to obtain near-optimum performance. Moreover, the proposed receiver is able to properly cope with a various environment.

  • In this paper, we propose a new communication network for on-chip communication. The network is based on a direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) technique. The new communication network is suitable for a parallel processing system and also drastically reduces the I/O pin count. Our network architecture is mainly divided into a CDMA-based network interface (CNI), a communication channel, a synchronizer. The network includes a reverse communication channel for reducing latency. The network decouples computation task from communication task by the CNI. An extreme truncation is considered to simplify the communication link. For the scalability of the network, we use a PN-code reuse method and a hierarchical structure. The network elements have a modular architecture. The communication network is done using fully synthesizable Verilog HDL to enhance the portability between process technologies.

Analysis of Regional Centrality by Investigating Direct and Indirect Flows of Commuters (통근통행에 의한 직·간접 흐름을 이용한 지역의 중심성 분석)

  • The regional centrality plays a very important role in national and regional planning and it is measured by data such as people, goods, and information flows among regions. The inter-regional flows are usually considered by only direct flows, yet indirect flows, which are generated accordingly from direct flows, are not critically considered. Most centrality studies have also hardly reflected the indirect flow in the network analysis. This study demonstrates the significance of the indirect flows to enhance accuracy of the regional centrality. The nationwide dataset of inter-regional commuter traffic matrix is used in this study and analysed into two groups; one to consider only direct flow and the other both direct and indirect flows. The results indicate remarkable differences of centrality raking between two groups such as Yeongam of Jeonnam Province(+60th), Eumseong of Chungbuk Province(+57th), Gwacheon of Gyeonggi Province (-35th), and Nowon of Seoul (-32nd). It clearly shows the significant influence of indirect flow for regional centrality study. This also reveals regional centrality ranking in Korea by considering direct and indirect flows of commuters. Jung, Gangnam, and Jongno of Seoul are categorized in the highest rank group and Ulleung of Gyeongbuk, Ongjin of Incheon, and Jindo of Jeonnam are in the lowest group. The top group includes seven districts of Seoul, two of Busan, and one of Gyeonggi Province. The bottom group includes mostly island and costal areas. As this study shows an accurate method of centrality measurement, it has a significant implication to lead an effective regional planning.
