  • This research was conducted to develop a model appropriate for the measurement of information quality of UCC service site. The evaluation factors that reflect more improvement of the information utilization capability were verified. Enhancement of information utilization capability can control greater amount of information among the users and site companies, and among users. Therefore, Wikipedia, for example, provides a Web 2.0 based information quality that is more advanced than Web 1.0 by allowing effective control of information among the users. This type of information quality presents 'information reliability' and 'information stability' as evaluation factors added to the factors such as 'information sufficiency' and 'information usability.' Information reliability and information stability are essential factors that need to conduct an evaluation in the Web 2.0 environment that can distribute greater number of information in the environment where all the users serve as participants. Moreover, 'interesting information' and 'originality of information' suggests that information itself should include the attributes that can attract the attention of users, due to the nature of the Attention Economics, which points out one of the Web 2.0 phenomenon that the number of information consumers is smaller than that of information suppliers.

  • Recently, the aging of SME managers has emerged as a major issue in business succession. The smooth succession of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which are the industrial base of Korea, is becoming an important issue for enhancing the vitality of the national economy, such as job creation, beyond mere discussion of inheritance. At this point, this study conducted an empirical analysis on the factors affecting corporate succession intention. As independent variables, corporate Capability consisting of employee competency, marketing competency, and digital competency, human factors such as managers, successors, and third-party stakeholders, and institutional factors such as legislation, taxation, and trust were set. In addition, the effect of adjusting the sales scale was verified. To this end, a survey was conducted targeting representatives who are currently running small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The total number of valid questionnaires was 315. Based on this, an empirical analysis was conducted using the hierarchical regression method. The results of the empirical analysis are as follows. First, marketing competency and digital competency, managerial competency and successor competency, taxation and trust had a significant positive (+) effect on corporate succession intention. However, a significant influence relationship between the third stakeholder, employee competency, and corporate succession intention was not tested. Among the factors that have a significant impact, the size of the influence was in the order of taxation, successor competency, executive competency, trust, marketing competency, and digital competency. Second, the size of sales was found to moderate the relationship between the variables that had a significant effect on corporate succession intention, that is, management competency, successor competency, marketing competency, digital competency, taxation and trust, and corporate succession intention. Based on these research results, academic, practical, and institutional implications for smooth business succession are presented.

  • Current digital door lock systems are mainly designed for users' convenience, so they have weakness in security. Thus, this paper suggests a video digital doorlock system grouped with a relay device, a server, and a digital doorlock with a camera, sensors, and communication modules, which is detecting or recognizing objects approaching to the front of the door lock system and sending images and door-opening information to users' smart devices. Experiments showed that the suggested system has 96~98% recognition rate of approaching objects and requires 17.1~23.9 seconds for transmission on average, depending on network systems. Therefore, the system is thought to have enough capability for real time security response by monitoring the front area of the doorlock system.

  • This paper presents the development of seismic fragility curves for a precast reinforced concrete bridge instrumented with a structural health monitoring (SHM) system. The bridge is located near an active seismic fault in the Dominican Republic (DR) and provides the only access to several local communities in the aftermath of a potential damaging earthquake; moreover, the sample bridge was designed with outdated building codes and uses structural detailing not adequate for structures in seismic regions. The bridge was instrumented with an SHM system to extract information about its state of structural integrity and estimate its seismic performance. The data obtained from the SHM system is integrated with structural models to develop a set of fragility curves to be used as a quantitative measure of the expected damage; the fragility curves provide an estimate of the probability that the structure will exceed different damage limit states as a function of an earthquake intensity measure. To obtain the fragility curves a digital twin of the bridge is developed combining a computational finite element model and the information extracted from the SHM system. The digital twin is used as a response prediction tool that minimizes modeling uncertainty, significantly improving the predicting capability of the model and the accuracy of the fragility curves. The digital twin was used to perform a nonlinear incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) with selected ground motions that are consistent with the seismic fault and site characteristics. The fragility curves show that for the maximum expected acceleration (with a 2% probability of exceedance in 50 years) the structure has a 62% probability of undergoing extensive damage. This is the first study presenting fragility curves for civil infrastructure in the DR and the proposed methodology can be extended to other structures to support disaster mitigation and post-disaster decision-making strategies.
