Development of DirectX-based Stereoscopic Image Authoring Tool for Immersive e-Book Production (몰입형 e-Book 제작을 위한 DirectX기반 입체 영상 저작도구 개발)

  • This study aims to develop a stereoscopic image authoring tool to effectively produce e-Book content that enhances user's sense of immersion in 3D environments. The proposed authoring tool consists of three core systems; 3D object editing, stereoscopic image, and image media production systems. First, the object editing system arranges and produces diverse objects that constitute virtual 3D spaces to fit the purpose of the content. In this case, commercial graphic authoring tools are utilized to design efficient data structures that can include produced external models. In addition, the material and textures of objects are made to be revisable and editable into the form wanted by the user. Thereafter, a stereoscopic image system will be implemented to produce the generated virtual scenes into stereoscopic images. This study uses the Anaglyph method so that the user can implement and use stereoscopic image scenes more easily. This method include functions to change the color of stereo cameras and control depth scaling. Finally, an image media production system will be implemented that will enable producing the produced stereoscopic images into single images or videos so that they can be effectively utilized in e-Book content.

  • Computers can intensify the students' motivation and understanding about the solution to the problems in class, therefore, computers can be the most appropriate educational tools for the study of problem solving and have been also recognized as a representable study method in the information age, which can pass on various educational experience to the right place at the right time. Mutimedia producing tool helps us develop and maintain the educational courseware by way of using general technology of multimedia system. In this thesis, it presents the efficient development process of educational software by using mutimedia producing tool, its educational advantages and problems, and its future progress direction as well.

  • This paper presents MIDAS (Media Interaction Design Authoring System), an authoring toolkit for designers and artists to develop working prototypes in new interaction design projects. Field research were conducted to identify the requirements and a case study of designing new interactive products was carried out to examine the feasibility of the new tool. MIDAS provides easier ways of integrating hardware and software, to manage a wide range of electric input and output elements and to employ 3D Augmented Reality technology within conventional multimedia authoring tools, such as Director and Flash, which are popularly used by designers. MIDAS was used in case study projects of design education as well as by voluntary designers for evaluation. From the result of case studies, it was found that many design projects were successfully accomplished using MIDAS. Designers who participated in the projects reported that MIDAS not only helped them to concentrate more on ideation but also was very easy to use as they implemented the physical interface concepts without advanced engineering skills. It is expected that MIDAS can also support prototyping in interactive media an, tangible user interface development and related human computer interaction fields.

  • This research paper is applying Writing Supporting System on the previous research study about writing tool data model on interactive storytelling about family Story. Family story writing supporting system enables users to create text, images, videos and digital contents based on experimental knowledge collected from the first and second generations. The paper about studies on writing tool system on family story, aims to create documentary based high quality contents about each family members and family history. At the same time, overcome generation gaps and the lack of creation infrastructures. Throughout this process, the author will contribute to the expansion of creation devices which can be applied in other researches and writing tools.

  • The music with the times, evolved from analogous tape music to digital music. New authoring tools, interfaces, and applications make us to produce high quality music using cheap equipments. Inspired by this concept, we design an classical chinese style-instrument with the audio-visual interactive function. It enables a user to compose music and to see a vivid picture at the same time.

  • 본 논문에서는 대부분의 데스크탑 컴퓨터 환경에서 브라우저의 플러그인으로 설치되어 컨텐츠를 재생하는 플래시 컨텐츠 양식을 이용하여 휴대용 단말기의 배경 화면으로 사용할 수 있는 컨텐츠 제작 도구와 이를 이용한 휴대용 단말기에 컨텐츠를 제공하기 위한 서비스 구축에 대하여 기술한다. 컨텐츠 저작 도구는 휴대 단말기의 개인화 특성에 기반을 두어, 사용자가 영상, 사운드와 저작 도구에서 제공하는 기능성 아이템, 컨텐츠의 전환 효과, 아이콘 및 텍스트 등을 이용하여 컨텐츠를 구성하고, 자동 생성 도구를 이용하여 모바일 플래시 컨텐츠를 생성한다. 생성된 컨텐츠는 미리보기 엔진을 통해서 휴대 단말기에서의 동작을 에뮬레이션해 준다. 저작된 컨텐츠는 전송 기능을 통해 휴대단말기로 전송되어 배경 화면으로 활용된다. 상기 컨텐츠 저작 도구를 활용해 개발된 서비스 시스템은 현재 상용 서비스 중에 있다.

Design of Metaverse for Two-Way Video Conferencing Platform Based on Virtual Reality

  • As non-face-to-face activities have become commonplace, online video conferencing platforms have become popular collaboration tools. However, existing video conferencing platforms have a structure in which one side unilaterally exchanges information, potentially increase the fatigue of meeting participants. In this study, we designed a video conferencing platform utilizing virtual reality (VR), a metaverse technology, to enable various interactions. A virtual conferencing space and realistic VR video conferencing content authoring tool support system were designed using Meta's Oculus Quest 2 hardware, the Unity engine, and 3D Max software. With the Photon software development kit, voice recognition was designed to perform automatic text translation with the Watson application programming interface, allowing the online video conferencing participants to communicate smoothly even if using different languages. It is expected that the proposed video conferencing platform will enable conference participants to interact and improve their work efficiency.

  • This paper is to suggest how to apply smartphone application making for literature class as a learning tool. New specialists in literature are not satisfied with the traditional learning methods for the acquisition of theoretical knowledge any more. They try to learn the making process of smartphone application using app writing tools to meet their attention and needs. As a result, they can experience "deterritoriatization" of their major. Such a new learning method not only makes the learners build up their literary knowledge, but also plays a part to meet their needs to make it reality as a practical method that satisfies their learning needs. On this basis, there can be a possibility for literature to be the important resource of the contents development for mobile application.

  • Feature of current IPTV services is that the IPTV Provider buys the rights of contents from contents author and provides consumers monopolistically with those. In this environment, IPTV is indistinguishable from the way of existing broadcasting services. To shift away from this structure, it is necessary to guarantee the common user's participation and provide the Open IPTV services for customers to be allowed to have be defined for more opportunities to select the contents. However, there are some problems to conduct Open IPTV service due to a variety of rights protection solutions designed by previous digital broadcast providers. Therefore, a new framework is needed to overall Open IPTV environment. This paper provides the design can packaging contents authoring and consuming tool for IPTV application service based on Open IPTV.
