High accurate three-dimensional neutron noise simulator based on GFEM with unstructured hexahedral elements

  • The purpose of the present study is to develop the 3D static and noise simulator based on Galerkin Finite Element Method (GFEM) using the unstructured hexahedral elements. The 3D, 2G neutron diffusion and noise equations are discretized using the unstructured hexahedral by considering the linear approximation of the shape function in each element. The validation of the static calculation is performed via comparison between calculated results and reported data for the VVER-1000 benchmark problem. A sensitivity analysis of the calculation to the element type (unstructured hexahedral or tetrahedron elements) is done. Finally, the neutron noise calculation is performed for the neutron noise source of type of variable strength using the Green function technique. It is shown that the error reduction in the static calculation is considerable when the unstructured tetrahedron elements are replaced with the hexahedral ones. Since the neutron flux distribution and neutron multiplication factor are appeared in the neutron noise equation, the more accurate calculation of these parameters leads to obtaining the neutron noise distribution with high accuracy. The investigation of the changes of the neutron noise distribution in axial direction of the reactor core shows that the 3D neutron noise analysis is required instead of 2D.

Envi-Met.을 이용한 도심 대기경계층 내 확산장 변화 수치 모의 (Diffusion Simulation Using Envi-Met. in Urban Planetary Boundary Layer)

  • Buildings in the city acts as a cause of distorted wind direction, wind speed, causing the stagnation of the air flow. In the recent trend of climate change can not but consider the temperature rise of the urbanization. This study was aimed to analyze the thermal comfort of planetary boundary layer in different artificial constructions areas which has a direct impact on urban climate, and estimating the warming phenomena. Envi-met model was used to consider the urban structure associated with urban growth in order to precisely determine the impact of the building on the city weather condition. The analyzed values of thermal comfort index were temperature, wind speed, horizontal and vertical turbulent diffusivity. In particular, analysis of the PPD(Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfied) represents the human thermal comfort. In this study, by adjusting the arrangement and proportion of the top floor building in the urban it was found that the inflow of the fresh air and cooling can be derived low PPD. Vertical heat flux amount of the city caused by climate change was a factor to form a high potential temperature in the city and the accumulation of cold air does not appear near the surface. Based on this, to make the city effectively respond to climate change may require a long-term restructuring of urban spatial structure and density management.

Cement/PVDF hollow-fiber hybrid basement membrane: Preparation, microstructure, and separation application

  • In this study, cement/PVDF hollow-fiber hybrid membranes were prepared via a mixed process of diffusion-induced phase separation and hydration. The presence of X-ray diffraction peaks of Ca(OH)2, an AFt phase, an AFm phase, and C-S-H phase confirmed the hydration reaction. Good hydrophilicity was obtained. The cross-sectional and surface morphologies of the hybrid membranes showed that an asymmetric pore structure was formed. Hydration products comprising parallel plates of Ca(OH)2, fibrous ettringite AFt, and granulated particles AFm were obtained gradually. For the hybrid membranes cured for different time, the pore-size distribution was similar but the porosity decreased because of blocking of the hydration products. In addition, the water flux decreased with hydration time, and carbon retention was 90% after 5 h of rejection treatment. Almost all the Zn2+ ions were adsorbed by the hybrid membrane. The above results proved that the obtained membrane could be alternative as basement membrane for separation application.

과냉 액체질소 내에서 순간적 열확산 실험 (Thermal diffusion experiment of impulsive heat in subcooled liquid nitrogen)

  • Transient heat transfer caused by an impulsive heating in subcooled liquid nitrogen is investigated experimentally. This study is part of out ongoing efforts directed to a stable cryogenic cooling system lot superconducting fault current limiters (SFCL). A thin heater attached by epoxy on one surface of a GFRP plate is immersed in liquid-nitrogen bath at temperatures between 77 K and 55 K. A strong heat flux up to $150W/cm^2$ is generated lot 100 ms, and the temperature of the heater sulfate is measured as a function of time. The behavior of bubbles on the heating surface can be explained by comparing the measured temperature history for vertical and two horizontal (up and down) orientations. It is concluded that the subcooling of liquid nitrogen below 70 K is very effective in suppressing bubbles, resulting in better thermal protection and faster recovery from an impulsive heat.

점착성, 비점착성 부유사 모형에 대한 Schmidt 수의 영향 (Effect of Schmidt Number on Cohesive and Non-cohesive Sediment Suspension Modeling)

  • 본 연구는 Schmidt 수(${\sigma}_c$)에 따른 부유사의 부유 거동 변화 및 흐름 특성의 변화를 살펴본 후, 그에 따라 계산된 성층 흐름의 척도가 되는 Flux Richardson 수($Ri_f$)와 Gradient Richardson 수($Ri_g$)를 근거로 타당한 ${\sigma}_c$의 범위를 산정하는 것을 목적으로 수행되었다. 부유사의 종류를 점착성 유사와 비점착성 유사로 구분하였으며 진동 흐름과 흐름 조건을 가정하고 1차원 연직 수치 모형을 이용하여 수치 실험을 수행하였다. 이 과정에서 ${\sigma}_c$가 난류 감소효과와 관계되는 상수인 것에 근거하여 부유사의 존재로 인한 난류 감소효과 고려 여부에 따른 흐름 특성의 변화를 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 흐름 조건에 관계없이 ${\sigma}_c$의 크기에 따라 부유 거동이 일관된 경향을 나타내는 것이 확인 되었으며 난류 감소효과를 고려하지 않는 경우 유속 및 난류 에너지가 과대 산정 되는 결과가 나타났다. 부유로 인한 성층화 조건을 형성하는 $Ri_f$$Ri_g$의 범위에 기초하여 결과를 분석하고 ${\sigma}_c$가 0.3에서 0.5의 범위에 해당될 때 성층 흐름 내 유사의 수직 혼합이 유효하게 계산된다는 결론이 도출되었다.

숙신산 추출반응이 일어나는 단일 액적계에서의 비정상상태 물질 전달 (Unsteady Mass Transfer Around Single Droplet Accompanied by Interfacial Extraction Reaction of Succinic Acid)

  • 단일 액적 시스템에서의 비정상상태 물질 전달에 대한 연구를 진행하였다. 단일 액적계를 위한 이성분계로는 옥탄올(연속상)-물(분산상) 시스템이 이용되었으며 동반되는 불균일 반응으로는 아민추출제(tri-n-octylamine,TOA)를 이용한 숙신산 추출 반응을 모델 시스템으로 선정하였다. 점도, 밀도, 용질의 분배계수, 연속상에서 하강하는 액적의 종말 속도, 용질과 추출제의 확산계수 등과 같은 시스템의 기본 특성을 파악하기 위한 실험과 이론적 계산들이 수행되었다. 액적의 종말 속도는 숙신산 농도에는 크게 영향을 받지 않는 것으로 보이나 TOA가 없을 때는 숙신산 농도에 따라 약간 증가하는 경향을 보였고, TOA 농도 증가와 함께 감소하였다. 액적의 낙하는 수직 낙하 경로를 기준으로 좌우로 진동하면서 움직이는 경향을 보였다. 낙하하는 액적에서의 물질 전달 관찰을 위해 물질 전달 셀을 제작하여 시간에 따른 액적 내의 평균 농도 변화를 관찰하였고, 그 결과를 무차원 변수를 이용하여 해석하였다. 50 g/L의 숙신산 농도 조건하에서 TOA 농도를 0.1과 0.5 mol/kg 으로 조절하였을 때, 전자의 경우에는 관찰 시간 범위 내에서 일정한 Sh 값을 유지하여 용질의 이동 방향으로의 농도 기울기가 감소함에 따라 훌럭스도 그에 비례하여 감소함을 알 수 있었지만, 후자의 경우에는 시간의 경과와 함께 Sh가 급격히 증가하는 현상을 보여 계면에서의 숙신산 훌럭스 감소에 비해 농도기울기 감소가 상대적으로 빠르게 일어남을 알 수 있다.

밀봉 재료에 따른 페롭스카이트 막의 산소투과 특성 (Effect of Sealant Materials on Oxygen Permeation in Perovskite Oxide Membrane)

  • 착체중합법을 이용하여 $Ba_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}Co_{0.8}Fe_{0.2}O_{3-{\delta}}$ 조성의 산화물을 합성하였으며, 합성된 분말은 압축 성형 후 $1080^{\circ}C$에서 소결하여 치밀한 페롭스카이트 분리막을 제조하였다. 밀봉 재료로 gold ring, Pyrex ring 및 Pyrex 분말을 사용하여 가스누출 실험을 수행하였다. $Ba_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}Co_{0.8}Fe_{0.2}O_{3-{\delta}}$ 분리막의 산소투과량 분석결과 온도가 증가함에 따라 산소투과량은 증가하였고, $900^{\circ}C$에서 $0.74mL/min{\cdot}cm^2$의 값을 나타내었다. $950^{\circ}C$에서 밀봉 재료에 따른 투과 특성 분석 결과, gold ring을 이용할 경우 높은 산소투과량을 보인 반면, Pyrex를 밀봉재로 사용할 경우 낮은 투과량을 보였다. 이는 Pyrex를 밀봉재로 이용할 경우 분리막 표면으로 유리가 침투하여 유효 산소투과면적을 감소시켰기 때문이며, 광화학 현미경 분석으로 Pyrex 유리의 확산 침투를 확인하였다.

용제와 투과촉진제가 Strat-MTM 인공막 및 무모마우스 피부를 통한 티자니딘염산염의 투과 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Vehicles and Enhancers on the Permeation Properties of Tizanidine Hydrochloride through Strat-MMTM Artificial Membrane and Hairless Mouse Skin)

  • This study was aimed to enhance the percutaneous absorption of tizanidine hydrochloride (TZ) across Strat-M$^{TM}$ artificial membrane and excised hairless mouse skin using various vehicles and chemical permeation enhancers. Solubility studies were performed using hydrophilic and lipophilic vehicles. To initially evaluate vehicle effects on skin permeation, Strat-M$^{TM}$ membrane was adopted using Franz-type diffusion cells loaded with 0.4 mg donor dose. Effects of fatty acids on the permeation of TZ from PG and PGMC were compared, and the effects of various hydrophilic vehicles in the presence of linoleic acid were studied using excised hairless mouse skin specimens. The mean solubility (mg/ml) of TZ in hydrophilic vehicles was higher: water > PG > DMSO > ethanol > PEG 200 > NMP > PEG 300 > PEG 400 > DGME, and solubilities in lipophilic vehicles such as PGMC, PGMC, IPM, Captex 200 and Captex 300 were much less than 1.0 mg/ml. Permeation rates through StratTM membrane from pure vehicles were in the rank order: PGMC ${\geq}$ LBF > DMSO ${\geq}$ NMP ${\geq}$ PGML ${\geq}$ PG ${\geq}$ PEG 200 ${\geq}$ DGME ${\geq}$ EtOH. However, permeation rates of TZ through hairless mouse skin from pure vehicles were very low, although PG showed the highest flux ($1.66{\pm}0.28{\mu}g/cm^2{\cdot}hr$). Therefore, PG was selected in further studies. Addition of enhancers (3 v/v%) into PG markedly increased the flux (${\mu}g/cm^2{\cdot}hr$): oleyl alcohol ($14.9{\pm}3.1$) ${\geq}$ oleic acid ($14.5{\pm}1.6$) ${\geq}$ linoleic acid ($13.7{\pm}1.3$) > capric acid ($4.4{\pm}0.6$) > caprylic acid ($2.1{\pm}0.4$). Among hydrophilic vehicles with linoleic acid, PG and DMSO revealed relatively higher permeation for TZ. Increase of donor dose in PG resulted in dose-dependent permeation fluxes. These results suggest that permeation properties of TZ from nonaqueous solutions are markedly different between Strat-$M^{TM}$ membrane and excised hairless mouse skin, and transdermal delivery of TZ would be feasible with a combination of PG and enhancers.

납착조건이 14K 금납을 이용한 티타늄 납착부의 인장강도에 미치는 영향 (EFFECT OF SOLDERING CONDITION ON THE TENSILE STRENGTH OF TITANIUM SOLDER JOINT WITH 14K GOLD SOLDER)

  • This study was performed to evaluate the tensile strength of solder joint in titanium and the wettability of 14K gold solder on titanium. Two pieces of titanium rod 30 mm in length and 3mm in diameter were butt-soldered with a 14K gold solder using the electric resistance heating under flux-argon atmosphere, the infrared heating under argon atmosphere, and the infrared heating under vacuum-argon atmosphere. A tensile test was performed at a crosshead speed of 0.5 mm/min, and fracture surfaces were examined by SEM. To evaluate the wettability of 14K gold solder on titanium, titanum plates of a $17{\times}17{\times}1mm$ were polished with #80-#2000 emery papers, and the spreading areas of solder 10 mg were measured by heating at 840 * for 60 seconds. The solder-matrix interface regions were etched by the solution of 10% KCN-10% (NH4)2S2O8, and analyzed by EPMA. The results obtained were summarized as follows ; 1. The maximum tensile strength was obtained when the titanium surface was polished with #2000 emery paper and soldered using the electric resistance heating under flux-argon atmosphere. Soldering strengths showed the significant difference between the electric resistance heating and the infrared heating(p<0.05). 3. The fracture surfaces showed the aspect of brittle fracture, and the failure developed along the interfaces of solder-matrix reaction zone. 4. The EPMA data for the solder-matrix interface region revealed that the diffusion of Au and Cu occurred to the titanium matrix, and the reaction zone showed the higher contents of Au, Cu and Ti than others.

마이크로채널 열교환기에서 R-134a의 증발열전달 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Evaporative Heat Transfer Characteristics of R-134a in a Micro-Channel Heat Exchanger)

  • 마이크로채널 열교환기에서 R-134a의 증발열전달 특성에 관하여 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 마이크로채널은 금속박판인 SUS304에 포토에칭 공정으로 식각되었으며, 13개의 금속박판은 차례로 적층되어 확산접합공정을 통하여 접합되었다. 본 연구에서는 R-134a의 증발온도, 질량유속 그리고 물의 입구온도의 변화에 따른 열전달 특성을 대향류 조건에서 실험하였다. 실험결과 R-134a와 물의 입구온도차가 클수록 증발열전달량은 증가하였으며, 증발열전달계수는 0.67 kW/$m^2{\cdot}^{\circ}C$에서 6.23 kW/$m^2{\cdot}^{\circ}C$이었다. 아울러 마이크로채널 열교환기에서 R-134a와 물의 열교환에 따른 증발열전달 특성에 영향을 미치는 Reynold수와 무차원 온도비 $\Theta$를 도출하여 Nusselt수에 관한 실험적 상관식을 제안하였다.
